"I think there's only a couple of guys up there, and this assh*le is one of 'em!" Awesome line and delivery. RIP James Gammon.
He had the look and the voice.
Scott Glenn's expression looking over his shoulder while Danny Glover purposely misses him..."Overdoing it a bit aren't ya?!" Priceless.
Such great actors. Danny glover, especially, was so good. He did this film and witness in 1985. Really underrated
This is sooo good! FYI. This film was made to be a homage to the genre. Kasdan succeeded in my view:The majestic musical score, the chemistry between these incredible actors , etc. If this weren’t one of my favorite westerns, I would not bother to explain this. But hey we all have a right to our opinion 😊
Geez, Paden. Her old man ain’t even cold yet.
I think this is one of the best Westerns ever made
“That’s none of your business, let’s get going” - immediately knows this cat is about to be dead as hell
Funny story about the guy who gets shot off his horse at the end of the scene. His name is Rusty Meyers and he's an actor that now lives in Vegas. He told me that when they set him up with the squib rig, they asked him if he wanted a leather pad (like a weightlifter's belt) to go under it to soften the snap of the squib. He figured he was a tough guy and declined. So, they gave him the triggering device and told him they would roll camera and when he was ready, he would set off the shot himself and react accordingly. If you go back and watch where this happens, that response he has is real. He said that squib hurt so bad that the wince and awkward fall off the horse was all he could manage.
I think he played a cowboy in a few Wendy's commercials too.
This is such a great story, even though I know I shouldn't trust it (this being the internet and all) I CHOOSE to trust it.
I think some days Silverado is the best one ever. Then other days I think Tombstone is the best ever. Kind of nice having that choice.
I played Conrad (Rosanna Arquette's husband) in this film.
Incredible score, made all the difference.
Hey, Payton. Some Texas Ranger named Walker called. He wants his hat back.
Paden
This was a great movie. Have watched it several times. Always there would be a second Silverado, when jake says, WE'LL BE BACK! Such a shame they never made a second 1, so sad !
This might be my favorite western of all time😊
I was seven years old and my dad took me to see this, RIP Greg, you were alright in my book ❤
Silverado was originally rated PG-13. There is a reason why some movies are not suitable for young kids.
I think I was similar age, maybe a bit younger. I remember going with my parents and brothers. RIP to my old man also. He was also alright!
Word from those involved in the movie has it that they had a hell of a time getting that intro shot with the four horses abreast. Apparently a couple of the horses didn't like each other, and there was some agitation going on. So it took a few tries.
Great Movie,Great Actors.
This movie got middle of the road reviews when it was first released- not scathingly bad but ones that ones that damned it with faint praise- but I loved it. I still do. Every character, both good and bad, is interesting. It did ok at the box office but not a block buster but I notice it shows up a lot on stations even today, and a run of the mill movie wouldn't have those types of legs. I don't know if they planned to do a sequel- it had an open enough ending that could have supported one- but I think I'm glad they never did. Lots of good movies end up being ruined by a sequel that shouldn't have been made, and I would hate to have that happen here, and the plot started here is finished. One of my favorite westerns.
It got released the same week as Back to the Future. That was July 4th week 1985. Bttf swept everything else away but Silverado is very good.
Welp. We know Chicago hasn’t changed. 😂
paden definatly knows how to easily mount a horse from the ground without coming down hard ..not even using the stirup on his side.
Muí buena película
Muy bien Kevin kline
Great western
Love westerns
Masterpiece
Good point. Why not add another layer of protection? Seems like belt and suspenders to me.
Best western ever! Beats BOTH versions of True Grit, The Searchers and the Man who shot Liberty Valance
Does it beat The Long Riders as well ? ( you mention 3 John Wayne movies. A fan perhaps ?)
Was an homage
Oh no, I can't agree with that, this is one of my favorites as well, but the second True Grit is an amazing film, has this one beat by a mile. To each his own though.
What about "Once upon a time in the west"? "My Name is Nobody"? I do have to say though, I'd watch this over and over again.
Tombstone.
Damn they fast on the horse too
Look at young Jake there, back in 1985 - now take a gander at John Dutton of the Yellowstone Ranch...
I feel old, too.
They have a lot to learn about people.
They should have asked Brion James about his mother.
0:30 Leon!!
"Let me tell you about my cameo..."
@@MrBendylaw heh
im ok with it...
Good movie. Kind of got tired of it after the tenth time i watched it...
Kevin kline manager mustve petered out or screwed kevin over over the years
Well that's nine and a half minutes I'll never get back.
bad choices for acting. bad acting. bad production. bad plot... bad country

Ha! Who died and made you sole critic over everyone else's opinion?😡👊
@@narvelancoleman8597 common sense
Probably ten minutes, since you wasted some more time typing that. :)
