“I don’t tolerate this kind of thing. It’s hard on the peace and it’s hard on the furniture.” One of my favorite lines and Cleese’s delivery is spectacular.
Bro, this clip came up on my feed and I had forgotten about this move. Reminds me of times past with my pops, such a great film! I don't think they could make this type of film today.
Some commenters here are surprised by John Cleese's presence in a western. He has appeared in several other films directed by Kasdan. This is one of those great movies that you can watch over and over. I watch it several times a year. There aren't very many movies that produced that many legit movie stars.
Don’t you love how this scene’s conclusion is the wooden door, light against dark framing of Scott Glenn. Just like John Ford framed John Wayne in “The Searchers.”
The majority of people are unlike you. Most just meekly accept the status quo. You should be proud of yourself but expect no help. Ive lerned this the hard way
Unknown to many, the Wild West was full of people the world over. Irish right off the boat, English, German, Chinese and many more. As to Cleese being suitable? It works for me.
Yeah, sometimes it happens, but as a 65 year old black man I've been able to get a place to stay and a good meal whenever I travel without that type of reception. Could someone be thinking it? Sure. But I can't change the heart of a person. And as long as I'm served like a customer, I won't speculate on what they think unless they come right out and say it or display it in their actions. I don't want to make a sweeping accusation about how blacks are treated because prejudice is promoted in the media.

One of my very favorite westerns. The casting was perfect and it was filmed beautifully.

That whole movie was full of good lines.
I don’t wanna kill you, and you don’t wanna be dead.
Now, let's talk about you chaps, shall we (eating a biscuit)?
That movie was stacked with talent!!!!
I especially liked it when the rest of Monty Python showed up as a gang of outlaws!😃
I will always love this movie for having the sheer audacity to cast John Cleese in a western.
"you idiot, he's hit everything he's aimed at"

„Don’t push your luck Carter.“ 😂
He should have at least been given a bottle to take with him. He had paid for one!

One of the all time great western movies, bar none!
This is one of my favorite three movies of all time. I even have the same Henry rifle as Mals father. A gift from my brother for my 50th birthday

I don't remember him being in any other Kasdan films
Sure you have right director?
One of my favourite pictures ever
This movie was so good! How it's not in the conversation w all time great westerns is baffling.
Because it's cheesy and unrealistic? Entertaining sure, but it's not one of the greats.
@@brianlarose6110
Cheesy and unrealistic describes most westerns.
"I'm TIRED of what ain't right!"
"What's all this, then?" Classic Cleese line from Monty Python.
Classic line from innumerable British policemen catching a "wrong'un" in the act.
At my first time watching this back in the 80s when I saw John Cleese enter the scene, I was in awe.
This bar room fight scene up there with Grandpa's fav from Bad Day at Black Rock.
Wow what a great movie, Spencer Tracey
Tracy waited a long time to put Borgnine’s character into his place. Gave that moment more impact.
Take the man’s money then tell him to get out…..the coward’s way.
Danny Glover got even in the end.
“Today my jurisdiction end’s here” 😁
Another terrific line.
Silverado was another great western. Was hoping for a second movie. When Jake rides away he say we'll be back.
Don’t you love how this scene’s conclusion is the wooden door, light against dark framing of Scott Glenn. Just like John Ford framed John Wayne in “The Searchers.”
The food looks really good....and that dude was well armed....
Wow, one of the best westerns ever! John P.
I half expected Cleese to say: “You did, when you invaded Poland!”
Haha....... Great reference

John Cleese, classic
When Cleese entered the saloon, I expected that all guests and the bartender will demand to see the silly walk...
Um baita filme com elencos de primeira!
He walked into a tavern with a rifle & ringed the bell 🛎
Couldn´t stop laughing seeing John Cleese as a sheriff.
Great movie. John cleese was such an odd casting choice i always thought lol.
Odd that they did not credit the great Brion James for his role in this one.
How realistic and authentic 😂
Devil's not much different from present day.
Yeah I don't know who made the thumbnail for this clip, but it ain't "Kelvin" Kline, bud...
Yeah, I'm sure it went down just like that in the old west.
This guy reminds me of my high school principal, if two were caught fighting both got in trouble. It didn't matter who started it.
He defended himself from racism and he get thrown in jail. Typical days in the old west lol
I surely wouldn't have expected a scene with Glover and Cleese. It's too bad Danny wasn't given a bit more lines, though.
Kelvin Kline?
Payback later won't be nice, Sherriff.
Just waited for Mr Bean showing up also 😁
Bagging 19th century EVs.
Who the F is Kelvin Kline? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Kelvin Klein is many degrees cooler than Kevin Klein.
It's Kevin Kline, not Kelvin
It's an alternate universe Kline.
Look at the cover. Kelvin klein.
Its kevin
Should have had Mel Gibson with him!
This movie, Tombstone, are my favorites.
Swamp Thing got knocked out by Danny Glover.
Who would stay in this town must answer me these questions three, ere the other side he see.
What is it with that second thug? He’s always starting fights in bars and diners…after this he goes and tries to start with Superman ffs
Was a Maroon one over at far syde of bar next door parking lot might been some my relatives looking for me but who knows

John Cleese in a Western??? Was the movie supposed to b 4:26 e funny??? Never saw it. I don't know. John is a "long" way from London! 😱
No, it was not a comedy.
But it did have its funny points.

Who is KELVIN KLINE? Don't you know how to spell K-E-V-I-N KLINE?
Kelvin Kline is a designer of fashion clothing. I got a great deal on his jeans from a street vendor.

I hated this scene.
Wait, beeped the N word? WTFudge? You do that to Tarantino's flicks? Wild Westerns gone woke, ya'll.
Only here was it bleeped. The full length movie it wasn't censored. I saw it when it came out.
Easily the worst western ever made. Pure drivel. Very neurotic.
cant agree, this is crap, Total crap
Cleese in this role may be one of the worst casting decisions of all time. Bizarre......(and I have always loved John Cleese).
Nope. It was brilliant. Kept them from rubber stamping some generic small town sheriff into the role. Gave it an extra twist and some snark.
