My mom is a pediatric forensic psychologist. Members of opposing gangs have worked with her, together, to put pedos in prison (she convinced them not to murder the people in question because, direct quote, "prison makes them suffer more"). This does not surprise me in the slightest. Gangs hate pedos. Even the most immoral, violent person you can imagine has a line and this tends to be it.

Whats even more diabolical is the time on July 4th the music video released. Kendrick dropped the music video whille Drake was attending an all white party in the Hamptons (a party where celebrities wear all white and pretend to be friends with Michael Ruben because he's really wealthy). Kendrick planned for this because he wears all white in the music video and waves to Drake during the "are you my friend, are we locked in?" line.
Imagine Drake being at the colonizer party (where the DJ was specifically instructed not to play Kendrick Lamar for Drake's ego) and everyone at the party is walking on eggshells around Drake sneaking off to the bathroom to watch the music video.

OK, I know this is much later, but I think the thing of the Kendrick vs Drake beef that still baffles me is that Drake used AI to replicate Tupac and Snoop. And he didn't get permission to use Tupac.
But that's not what baffles me. It's that Drake essentially used digital necromancy to revive Tupac and then made Tupac...praise Kendrick and diss Drake. In Drake's OWN song.
That would be like if I was on trial and I revived the greatest defense attorneys in order to specifically have them testify against me and give evidence to the prosecution.

For whatever valid criticism can come from our public obsession with drama in media, there is something profound to be said for the way this beef has successfully educated people outside of the hip hop culture about the value and nuance within hip hop as a valid form of artistic expression for decades.
Something strangely poetic and surreal about Pat delivering an anecdote of symbolism and metaphor of Kendrick’s video to Woolie. Is it fueled by Pat’s love of messy public displays of hate? Absolutely. Is the cross-cultural appeal of this beef a win for reflecting on Hip Hop as a layered and academic form of artistic expression? Also true. Will it be validated by the crowd of people who think “i don’t listen to rap cause it’s awful but I’ll listen to (political white rapper with a conservative bias) cause it speaks to me”? Probably not, but fuck them. This isn’t about them anyways.

The most diabolical detail is the time on July 4th the music video released.

I have not seen a person so fucking obliterated from reality since me and my buddies got so pissed at one bot base in Hell divers we threw in a 380mm barrage, 500KGB, a Carpet Bomb, a Napalm strike, a rocket Barrage, a walking orbital barrage, and then a final 500KGB.
and still I have not seen such over kill.
