after I finished this video, I appreciate the talk about how god gave us curly girls a purpose and specific beauty within our curly hair. It made me tear up. As a mixed girly with 3C hair, its constantly frizzy and dry and I was insecure about it. Especially in middle school so I would straighten it all three years. It has been so severely damaged I had to cut INCHES off. Im now in my first year of college and I found your TikTok my junior year. I'm also the youngest girl and you have taught me how to take care of and love my hair and I thank you so much for that. Hearing your insecurities with your hair is so human and beautiful of you, and It also made me feel seen and heard.
Curly hair girl here!🙋♀️ I TOTALLY get you on this topic! It’s so hard sometimes with alll the feels…but we always gotta remember we are fearfully and wonderfully made IN GODS IMAGE! how amazing is it to have this assurance! 🥹 thank you for your vulnerability, you are loved Kiana🤍
22:40 I feel allllll of the curly hair feels. I’m currently interviewing for new jobs, and I work in project management in healthcare/biotech. I ALWAYS feel like I need to blow out my hair for interviews. Like somehow my curly hair is unprofessional- it’s just been pushed on us that sleek hair is “polished and professional “
Hey Kiana ! 🌸 This big sister chat is everything ! Your vibe is so real, and I love how you dive into the nitty-gritty of insecurities, relationships, careers, and spirituality. It feels like catching up with a friend, you know ? Your stories and perspectives hit home, and I'm here for more of these super chatty vlogs. Thanks for keeping it genuine and sharing a slice of your life ! 💖✨
hi kiana! i recently discovered your videos and i love that you feel like a real person, you word vomit and you say whats on your brain and its so refreshing to see and i really appreciate you
Finding your channel has been so comforting, whether talking about hair/ makeup/vlogs/ chatting! But you embracing your hair has really helped my mindset towards my hair. In a way we encourage each other 💛 I always had straight hair until I went thru puberty my hair became very wavyy & veryy frizzy! I couldn’t understand why my hair was the way it was, & it was hard bc everyone in my family & peers had pin straight hair. I’m 21 & stillll don’t understand how to style it properly, bc a lot of products way down my hair so I’ve always just straightened it. But lately I’ve been embracing my natural hair & not trying to hide it! Thank you big sister!!🌼
I love this video as a strait hair girly I have always been envious of the mesmerizing curls you and other girls have. I loved this long-style video, I also really like the vlogs. I love all of your videos!!!
As a retired optician it's really nice to see you wearing your glasses for apparently a full day. I really hope the reason isn't because you ran out of contacts. But whatever the reason your eyes probably were in need of a break from contacts anyway. I have feeling that your like most contact wearers, meaning you over wear them by quite a bit more than you should be wearing them. Optometrists will tell you that contacts really are only meant to be wore for between 10 and 12 hours a day and not more than 5 days week. You might remember that when you were only wearing glasses you only went for an eye exam when you felt like you needed your glasses changed. But when you got contacts you were then required to get yearly eye exams. Yes in part it was to see if you needed your prescription increased for your contacts. But the real main reason was so the doctor could check the health of your eyes from wearing contacts. I realize that you can't see crap without your glasses or contacts, but you really should wear your glasses more often. And honestly you are so so attractive that wearing glasses doesn't take anything away from how attractive you are. Besides that you might be surprised at how many men prefer an atratctive woman wearing glasses to one not wearing glasses.
I totally understand what you mean about curly hair being an insecurity. I had straight hair until I went through puberty and then I had to learn how to take care of it and everything. But curly hair is so beautiful and I have to keep reminding myself of that. When you said that you go up to the girls that have curly hair and compliment them. I totally agree with you, I do the exact same thing. It is like you have a something in common and you just connect. You’re awesome!!! Keep posting, I love your videos!!!❤
I needed this 🤍 I’ve always had curly hair and agree with every thing you said!! You are so right that God made all of us curly girls exactly how we were meant to be!!
I am older than you but there were parts of this video, especially where you discussed your insecurity with curly hair, that I felt like you were my big sister giving me advice. I am 28 right now. Listening to you talk about your experiences in school with boys really hit me hard. I FINALLY realized why I always wore my hair in a ponytail or bun from 4th or 5th grade up until my junior or senior year. I was so insecure about my curls. I also had really bad acne then and nothing I did fixed it. I am so glad I found your video about a year ago. I love this kinda of vlog coming from you. I especially love that you aren't afraid to talk about your faith. You are my favorite person to watch on YT or IG (I don't have tiktok). Thank you for not being afraid to post this video. There are so many girls who struggle with these insecurities ❤
Loving the conversation about the stigma of curly hair! I fried my hair in middle school because I wanted to fit in so badly!! And I can relate to the 100 compliments I get when I straighten my hair! Learning to love my curls alongside you ❤
I know it's not quite the same, but I was always insecure about my freckles, and then suddenly everyone wanted them?? (I loved them long before) but it's honestly insane how what we see as an "imperfection" others are seeking for themselves. I loved this video, so refreshing to see someone be so vulnerable and honest we ly girl 💜
Girl, I completely understand your insecurity behind glasses. My glasses prescription in my left eye is -7.5, and in the right eye it is -6.5 😖 My glasses don't fit in the frame either, and it is such a pain and huge insecurity. But I just love your honesty and vulnerability; it is a breath of fresh air!💕
Omg Kiana I literally watched one of your other videos today and was thinking how you are literally stunning!!! It was so refreshing to hear about your insecurities. I’m a model as well and I have super straight hairon set lol always curl my hair on set go figure
I love this type of video, it's to chill. I have been so sick for the past few weeks as well so totally relate to the green tea and running out of honey. Also, Everywhere, Everything is such a beautiful song! For some reason it always has me tearing up and thinking of The Last Of Us.
i always love your vlogs but i especially love this chatty, long-form content from you!! as a Noah Kahan fan, i've never thought of everywhere, everything as a wedding song but you've got a point. the lyrics are definitely darker but the song is all about loving someone as deeply and for as long as we can!
Hey there Kiana. First and foremost I want to say I have been enjoying your videos both on Tiktok as well TH-cam. They are very fun even though I’m not too big on hairstyle videos; However you have an away that make it super fun alongside having some personality into it. Anyways I want to get straight to the point so that my comment won’t end up being too long. I honestly really enjoy this sit down chat video (currently watching as I type) it might already be over when I do finish. LOL! I ebony this this video because it felt like a podcast where I personally really enjoy a ton. Even though I’m a guy; However I enjoy hearing different perspectives on a variety of topics. I would love to see more videos like these in the future. Also I can definitely understand the insecurities and I’m happy that you’ve found confidence in who God (Father Yahweh) has created you to be. As always keep up the great work and creativity Kiana!
I have straight hair, but I started following you after watching your videos on how you take care of your hair. I’ve always thought that women with curls were always automatically a 100 times more attractive. So, I’m a little intimidated by girls/ women with curls. Curls are so beautiful, and I know they’re a lot of work, but to me, you’re somehow cooler if your hair is curly 🥺😂.
First, love this style of video!! More of this please! Side note: the part where you talk about feeling like you can’t really do anything until the appointment is possibly ADHD!
It's crazy how much I related to a lot of topics you talked about especially with the procrastination and curly hair. That whole thing about putting off something you need to do because you can't even fathom doing it - I do that with most things and I constantly think about how Im not getting things done and feel guilty. I also have curly hair and constantly felt less than. When my friends would organise things to do for sports carnivals with our hair or when there would be some type of event and I either couldn't participate (or felt like I couldn't cause of my hair type) or I got tonnes of compliments when it was straight. And I also felt like it was such a big part of my identity for some reason according to everyone. Like they always pointed out my hair, or the way I wore it or if someone else had curly hair then automatically people associated us or confused us for one another even though we look nothing alike.
Loved the video, I was able to relate with you in so many things, wearing glasses and curly hair at the same time is so scary for me sometimes I like I can do one or the other but not both. Thanks for being vulnerable and share this! ❤
This made me realise what u see and watch growing up maters!! I guess in the us 🇺🇸 u guys all look very very different bc there is no one culture and one look where in saudi we kinda all look the same and have curly dark brown thick hair and it’s our beauty standards and i genuinely never understood influencer and ppl in tik tok talking about how they think they’re curly hair is not hot and I would think u guys are just trying to make something out of nothing but now i genuinely understand after watching American influencers i found myself wanting to look more like ppl that look nothing like me! Honestly it was very bad on my mental health but this year i decided to watch, and for the people that look more like me and have features like me, and honestly that made me feel so much better. Ur so brave for honestly speaking about ur feelings to us .also watching ppl that look like me isn’t a bad thing bc now i can see beauty in other ppl like when i went to spain ughhhhh i was appreciating humans and there skin genuinely i feel so healthy in my mind and I work on all that a year ago and in April i will turn 18 and im so happy that i worked on it
I'm with you on the book thing! It's so irritating when authors bring in a super-natural element halfway through the book 😡 I was waiting for the amazingly written explanation of how this happened! But you put it down the magic!?!?! WHAT!
Get it girl! Related so much to other girls that are basically like “oh she’s that girl that says she looks like 💩 even though she knows she’s beautiful” like we all have our insecurities just hear us out!
This video was literally the epitome of “she’s just like me fr” for me if that makes any sense haha. Seriously, though this video was so comforting to watch and really did like talking to a big sister which I loved since I’m the oldest in my family 🫶🏼
Yess on the PLL Rant !!! Such a bad twist just to surprise the fans, just for the shock factor and in PLL they brought in a supernatural aspect as well that didnt fit at all and just made the whole thing pointless... but yea PLL is my comfort show and I am never able to talk about it lol
omg girl i have a -8 perscription and I FEEL U SO MUCH. l i cant wear contacts bc i have really senestive dry eyes so it just irrates them, but i also dont want my eyes to disappear anytime i put on my glasses like...and it sucks bc so many people look SO cute with glasses but i cant bc im blind :/ forever looking for a magic pair that would keep my eyeballs normal sized and i can see but alas
Omgggg I love your content and love your brain dump videos, I totally get what you mean about being excited about the boy and future with the boy. What’s the dynamic of you guys living together? You mention your Christian, how do you guys navigate that?
Both of the books you spoke about kind of reminded me of The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware. It's a bit thriller/ supernatural(ish)/ mystery like that too. Btw I LOVE the longer chatty video 🥰
I just started see your videos.and when I opened this one and see your hair first time. I like you eith curly hair more than this.......u r beautiful with curl .I do know that straight is better than curl.but with u .curl is more beautiful.....I have curly hair and I never make it open .I mean I always hold it...or straight it...cos I don't know what products use to make it nice curl no frizz.....sooooo always make curly ❤❤❤❤❤
Girl I wear glasses too, +3 and -4 And honestly I hate wearing them too. Everyone always says they suit me but when i put them on I feel like every single one of my insecurities is ten times worse. Same with hair. My hair isn’t curly it’s pretty straight however it is incredibly thin. All of my friends hair was always so thick and luscious and I just had like straw for her to the point that I accidentally dyed my hair temporarily ginger when I was 12 because I heard that hair masks made out of red onion would work in making hair healthy and accidentally gave myself scalp burns because I washed my hair so much in the shower because I thought it would give me volume and like at the time i was in such a crappy friend group because I had this one friend who would take every insecurity i ever said I have and increased it a ten fold because she’d make it into a joke
i honestly think it's hollywood that ruined curls. like mia from the princess diaries anne hathaway is gorgeous and even w curls but she straightens her hair and takes off her glasses and suddenly everyone loves her disregarding her beauty w her curls and glasses
I highly recommend the book Uncanny by Sarah Fine for you, it’s a mystery book surrounding the death of the protagonist’s sister and it’s set in the future where AI is extremely advanced and starts to develop a sense of humanity, it’s been a while since I read it so I’m not doing it justice with that summary but I remember I really loved the twist at the end, you should check it out!
Omg both my eyes are -7 in contacts/glasses. I never knew of anyone else who had eyes as bad as me LOL. I fall asleep in them all the time too. I also HATE wearing glasses, they make me so dizzy.
i am a hijabi girly with a curly hair and some time I just wish that i had straight hair or that i could took off my hijab don't get me wrong i love wearing hijabi and having curly hair and i love how i look with them but i love how i look with out my hijab more i just look more beautiful .. and at the time when I wasn't wearing hijab and was straightening my hair, I used to get many compliments, and now I do not get as much , and I am not saying that I take my value from people’s compliments, no I am not saying that.. I know that I am beautiful in all my situations. I know that, and I love my appearance and I know my value. I love everything about me but it's always nice to hear compliments about you it just makes you happy
Some of the best thrillers I’ve read are by Jennifer Hillier (Little Secrets, Jar of hearts) she has the best plot twists! And also Rock, Paper, Scissors by Alice Feeney.
I'm having similar issues with my eyes after switching from dailies to monthly contacts 😪 Currently dealing with pink eye in both eyes and low key refuse to go to the gym in my glasses lol
They didn’t think you were prettier with straight hair you just got more attention because the straight hair was new they were used to seeing you with curly hair so when you had it straight they gave more attention because it was new it stood out I’ve lived both worlds my hair was straight and long now it’s curly and short and it’s not all about your hair it about your face your smile your clothing style the stuff you wear it’s about stuff that makes you stand out that gets attention I have short curly hair dimples and really cool unique style that stands out and I read in public rather than being on my phone so I’m surrounded by people on their phone and I’m the only one reading, that makes me stand out that’s part of why I get a lot of attention it’s not your hair you just think it is but it’s not I think curly hair people are beautiful and because I think that they catch my attention a lot but someone who doesn’t have a preference or care for curly hair they won’t notice unless something else about you stands out. And you don’t have to stand out I was born to stand out and that okay if you weren’t your still beautiful in your own way you don’t need attention to be “pretty” and from someone who gets no less than 20 compliments or more when I go out in public and much attention it gets annoying and sometimes I wash I wasn’t so pretty honestly it’s annoying always being like “thank you” “thank you so much” it’s nauseating I’ve gotten attention like that since I came out of the womb and I’m honestly tired of it so attention isn’t always a good thing
a 53 minute from Kiana is something I needed in my life

Hey there Kiana. First and foremost I want to say I have been enjoying your videos both on Tiktok as well TH-cam. I love this kind of talks! I feel like talking with my big sister that I really don’t have
I have straight hair, but I started following you after watching your videos on how you take care of your hair.
Like they always pointed out my hair, or the way I wore it or if someone else had curly hair then automatically people associated us or confused us for one another even though we look nothing alike.
Omg the way you talk is so fluent
Loved the video, I was able to relate with you in so many things, wearing glasses and curly hair at the same time is so scary for me sometimes I like I can do one or the other but not both. Thanks for being vulnerable and share this! ❤

Honestly it was very bad on my mental health but this year i decided to watch, and for the people that look more like me and have features like me, and honestly that made me feel so much better. I'm with you on the book thing! It's so irritating when authors bring in a super-natural element halfway through the book 😡
I was waiting for the amazingly written explanation of how this happened! But you put it down the magic!?!?! WHAT!

Yay for a new video, watching now
AMENNNN we love to see it!! God loves you all!! ❤️❤️
Your videos are so comforting I love it 💗
omg girl i have a -8 perscription and I FEEL U SO MUCH. l i cant wear contacts bc i have really senestive dry eyes so it just irrates them, but i also dont want my eyes to disappear anytime i put on my glasses like...and it sucks bc so many people look SO cute with glasses but i cant bc im blind :/ forever looking for a magic pair that would keep my eyeballs normal sized and i can see but alas

Both of the books you spoke about kind of reminded me of The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware. It's a bit thriller/ supernatural(ish)/ mystery like that too. Btw I LOVE the longer chatty video 🥰

Lock every door by Riley sager is a must read. I love his books but I didn’t like the house across the lake for the same reasons as you!
Yes book review!!!
KIANA SINGING IN A WEEK BY HOZIER WAS NOT ON MY 2024 BINGO CARD OMGGGGG GIRL!?!?
A few book videos would be fun!
i am a hijabi girly with a curly hair and some time I just wish that i had straight hair or that i could took off my hijab don't get me wrong i love wearing hijabi and having curly hair and i love how i look with them but i love how i look with out my hijab more i just look more beautiful .. and at the time when I wasn't wearing hijab and was straightening my hair, I used to get many compliments, and now I do not get as much , and I am not saying that I take my value from people’s compliments, no I am not saying that..

And also Rock, Paper, Scissors by Alice Feeney.
alice feeney is psychotic. like wat is wuth her mind?

Girl, you ARE hot (I mean this non creepily) and beautiful AND cute
Just thought you should know ❤
They didn’t think you were prettier with straight hair you just got more attention because the straight hair was new they were used to seeing you with curly hair so when you had it straight they gave more attention because it was new it stood out I’ve lived both worlds my hair was straight and long now it’s curly and short and it’s not all about your hair it about your face your smile your clothing style the stuff you wear it’s about stuff that makes you stand out that gets attention I have short curly hair dimples and really cool unique style that stands out and I read in public rather than being on my phone so I’m surrounded by people on their phone and I’m the only one reading, that makes me stand out that’s part of why I get a lot of attention it’s not your hair you just think it is but it’s not I think curly hair people are beautiful and because I think that they catch my attention a lot but someone who doesn’t have a preference or care for curly hair they won’t notice unless something else about you stands out.
And I was just born really pretty I’ve never gotten work done or anything just good genetics
🤍🤍love your videos!!
