    I remember taking it in the 90s and it used to make the glands in my neck swell up and made me feel sick! Tried it again this time creapure from bulk starting about 6 months ago and as a man in my mid fifties is really helping with strength and muscle fatigue. I would say i am about 15% stronger when taking creapure. No percieved side effects this time either.

    Something that has mixed evidence and is one hypothesis as to how it can improve muscle mass with exercise is an increase in DHT without an increase in overall testosterone in men, especially with higher doses, which has an effect on different types of prostate cancer. There's anecdotal evidence from many men who supplement with creatine that it can possibly increase the rate of androgenic alopecia, which would at least point in the direction of some change in androgens at larger doses when combined with strength based exercise.

      I understand your concern, but with creatine being used by millions for decades I figure we would have seen some sort of enormous wave of anecdotal reports of people suffering liver cirrhosis/failure by now… I’m usually pretty cautious too but I really haven’t seen any particularly concerning stuff regarding creatine.

    • @AR-fx2mv
      @AR-fx2mv 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In the video, he says confirmed problems with people that have other liver issues. As people age, they develop liver issues. Hence non-zero risk of life time use vs zero risk of just lifting harder. If you really think your lift is already pinned, then maybe this gives you another 5%. I think everyone could lift harder, including me. So i'll focus there instead of adding non-zero risk. There's also additional risk of no oversight of suppliers. Better to avoid.

    • @A_A828
      @A_A828 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AR-fx2mv He says there might be some risks for those with pre-existing kidney issues taking ridiculously high doses (like 6-7x the normal dose) but even then as far as I understand it’s nothing life-or-death or irreversible. Furthermore there’s nothing mentioned at all about the liver in this video.
      A normal daily dose of creatine (like 3g) is generally considered to be well-tolerated and safe with plenty of positive effects, especially for vegans who don’t get any creatine through their diet.
      Of course, you are free to do with your own body as you please, but I just don’t think creatine really warrants that much concern.

      look at 2:56 and you’ll see that the test is for normal people with normal kidneys. If the level rises, that means there’s something wrong with them. By introducing the creatine, it’s not hurting your kidneys it’s just showing that the levels are higher as if there was something wrong with your kidneys, it is not saying that it’s hurting your kidneys. It’s just saying the level looks like there is something wrong, the standard was made without the idea of putting more creatine into your system. It doesn’t mean your system is breaking down. It just means it’s actually removing what you’re adding, if you stopped it, they would go right back to normal. It does not have anything to do with functionality of the kidneys.💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

      It might not be from creatine, it's probably from your fasting and caloric deficit. This sounds to me like your body is in a heavy ATP oxidative energy state. Which will lead to fat burning, but the consequence of this will be more difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep. Your adrenaline is high.
      Try doing your window of fasting earlier in the day so when you break fast, it's later. Your last meal will be closer to bed time. Also include some starches in the last meal to assist with the reduction of epinephrine, and increase levels of tryptophan in your blood for later brain metabolic conversion to serotonin and melatonin. This will provide a deeper sleep.

    Regarding quality of Creatine, when I went shopping for what I eventually bought I went to the NSF site and searched for their list of NSF certified suppliers of Creatine. (it was a short list) For Americans who, unlike Germany say, don't have any pharmaceutical standards for ordinary supplements, the NSF is your huckleberry. They assure or certify that the contents are Creatine only. Professional athletes rely on this certification because there are 250 odd substances professional athletes can't have found in their blood. I think for Americans this is the best and only 'certified' source of Creatine. I bought for instance 315g of Creatine Monohydrate from "Klean Athlete" that contains a 5g scoop. I was measuring 2.5g (I have a Tanita mini scale, accurate to two places) and adding this to a meal before a workout. I have now increased that to 3g based on these videos.

    Some cooking methods can actually increase the creatine content of food. For example, slow cooking meat in a liquid (sous vide) can increase the creatine content by up to 10%. This is because the low heat and long cooking time can help to break down the connective tissue in the meat, which releases creatine.

      The evidence for creatine preventing sarcopenia in the elderly argues against the necessity of "serious max-out intensity exercise" to reap benefits from supplementation.

      @@xcast1 yes, but that's fundamental to any resistance training program.
