The Hendrickson Haulmaxx suspension is very unique beast! When overhauling and rebuilding the suspension every part of that suspension must be checked for wear (torque rods/end beam bushings etc) because believe it or not there are so many factors that would cause issues here. Best practice is to redo the entire suspension and ATRO has possibly the best solution for this suspension. Overloading the suspension is very common on this suspension. Notice how the "progressive spring" or load cushion in the center was crushed. That piece alone holds about 40% of the load the rest is on the bolsters. If that fails the bolsters then take 100% load and it doesn't matter wether its rubber or poly they with fail catastrophically as seen here. I've used ATRO polyurethane for years and they are the industry leaders in polyurethane technology. Just my .2 great video though !
I’m glad somebody else spins a bolt in a hole like that with the impact. Breaks all the dirt and rust loose so that it falls out instead of hammering, but all the guys in my shop look at me crazy.
I like the idea of no center bushing, bet this is way cheaper than doing centers and blocks on the old RS rubber block suspension like I have, but I don’t see how it would articulate near as well as a true floating walking beam.
The only benefit I see is less weight and less moving/wearable parts. I have the old school rubber block walking beam suspension on my truck, it articulates great but I have the greaseable bronze center bushings and I still have to replace them every 3 or 4 years at 4,500 bucks a pop just in labor. I love Hendrickson suspension but those center bushings are their Achilles heel, they should have made them be able to be replaced with common tools instead of needing either a 12,000 dollar port a power puller set or to remove the whole walking beam and put it in a shop press.
Hate this suspension. gets ok traction but rides horrible. always tears the rubber pads. a true center point will last longer but is much harder to re bush

I’ve been trying to learn new stuff here at work but it’s hard when nobody knows anything but this channel is pure gold! Thank you
My back started hurting just LOOKIN' at that walking beam!

give that man a raise.
Very interesting video, enjoyed it! Thank you!
I like the haulmaxx suspension. Has lasted great for me.
Looks a lot easier than that Mack you did. How long does this type of suspension last?
Very interesting video
Cool so what impact wrench did you use to get the tires out with 😎
7:08 harbor freight impact . Love it BOSS i ABUSE THE HEll out of mine as well. Get them to sponsor you.
This is a s new Hendrickson sup, mine has a big ack of springs with a big bar , to n you l military 10 wheeler , nice 👍 thanks BigAl California.
Muy buen canal, muy informativo. Saludos
Where is your shop located? Great video.
That suspension must eat up bushings! Those were Atro's and didn't look that old😳
Leo those tires look like 315s. Maybe loading too heavy? Atro too stiff and tearing? I like atro bushing maybe not best in all applications?
Oh yea I forgot. I worked in a warehouse many years ago and I moved a lot of freight with a set of hand trucks just like those.
what is the maximum load that can be transported using this type of suspension?
How long did those last?

Que tal podría funcionar en un volteo Torton
I can’t believe he didn’t use a wire brush to clean the surface before replacing the new metal backing mounts.

This is stupid compared to air bags
Qe función tiene esa Correa
I drove a truck with that suspenshion my jessus didnt that ride hard
Doesn't look like they would last long
Mil horas oara quitar las ruedas
Sure don't look like the old style suspension. Can't say I am too impressed... Design folks were on a roll when they came up with that.

@@J.R.in_WV you can get a setup to pull with for $2300 bucks..that's definitely cheaper than the labor.
hell , ya I remember the days getting dirty.
Replace with genuine hendrickson rubbers and youll do it maybe twice the whole life of the truck
es mejor la suspensión con planchas de acero, ese sistema con plástico es una trampa
