Oh man you’re so sweet to say all that! So glad to meet you new friend 🤗🤗🤗 I hope you enjoy the videos and let me know if you have ideas for the channel!
Great video. I love your energy. I recently got a 505M2 and you can use a MIDI pedal to control your loops or anything you want up to 16 things, and then, you also have two other pedal ports that you can use... this makes the RC-600 almost useless since you have so much more knobs and sliders, and pedals that you can use! It is definitely a great looper. Another great looper is the Aeros loop station... especially if you use it with the Midi Maestro pedalboard. Any thoughts?

I use this in conjunction with my FS-6 Dual Footswitch to record/dub on tracks 1 & 2. You can get a midi footswitch to have control on all 5 tracks! Great questions! And thank you for those kind words :-) I don’t have personal experience with the TC helicon. But for performance sake and accessibility, I prefer to do the mixing separate from the pedals. The newer boss pedals are going to have the nicest sound quality. And that’s why I like them! It is probably a very personal preference. But that is my two cents 👍
I love your videos....but on this one I was hoping you would show how you hooked up you cables which outputs and inputs ...to where and where did you get that dual mic mount?
Hi Emily I’ve been reading reports by other TH-camrs on the Mark 2. Apparently one of the things that they are mentioning is that a loop is basically pre timed before you do a loop. Like pre-quantised from what I’m understanding. So some beat boxers are pointing out that they can’t free-time a loop anymore. But maybe it’s not a worry.
ah yes. i've heard that. i'm having trouble fully understanding what they mean so i'm trying to locate the first version to compare. cuz people love this pedal and really could do nuts things with it. nothing is pre-timed, but i gotta see one in action and mess with it. maybe next video.
@@MeanMaoriMean555 ya cuz i can easily make loops and make it musical. but i'm interested to see what the thing is that the previous version could do that people are missing. cuz the way the machine works dictates how your brain learns to make the loops. so i can see they are frustrated. we'll crack the code!
Thank you for reviewing this and demoing! I have a question though… does it save all the recorded loops in a bank so you don’t have to re-record them during a live performance? Like I can pick from a bank which loops I want to play back. I also play live piano to my loops so I need to have vocals ready to go.
Always love watching you build loops, Emily. I may have this wrong but as your hands are busy tapping buttons how will you play live on the keyboard. Must it be easier to use your feet on the 600 as it leaves your hands free to play?
You kinda nailed it. It’s pretty hard to build loops on the guitar when I have to cue the recording also with my hand. For basic looping for instrumentalist, the floor looper is piece of cake. But for vocal loops, and using FX, the tabletop access is pretty sweet. I wanna figure out how to properly rout them and get them to play together. I’m really becoming high maintenance now haha
Now you’re getting me to think because it would be so nice if the 600 had a midi controller where you could control the settings something within reach. Maybe clip on a mic stand. Idk. But You get the idea. It’s also nice to have 5 tracks without having to shift through modes
@@EmilyMcVicker I got an idea the other day and didn’t say anything till I saw this comment. I was thinking maybe you should look into combining a midi foot controller in parallel with the RC-505 2 to access some functions where you can’t use you hands as much when doing guitars parts if combining the RC 500 with the 505 isn’t too successful. Just a thought.
@@MeanMaoriMean555 Correct, this was one of my deciding factors in purchasing the 505 (almost went with the RC-400), because I can use it in conjunction with my FS-6 foot switch which I already owned. And yes, I hear you can use it with a midi foot controller to access all 5 tracks.
Hello, Ms. McVicker. As feedback, I just wanted to say I began watching your videos for two reasons, your smile and eye contact in thumbnails. Really jumps out. Was looking into loopers and that's what drew me in and made me a fan. I thought you'd like to know what was effective, that's all. My best to your channel.
Yes! Well, two. A Ditto+ to record ideas to pass around (just give the unit to a music friend to take home), and a Headrush Looperboard as sort of a studio hub. I use Reaper DAW, but sort of want an intermediary, with foot switches. Sort of a holding tank, a white board.
Love all of your videos! Just got the Boss Rc 505 and so excited. You really inspired me to go for it. Curious why you have the 2 different vocal microphoness. Is there a reason and difference when you are signing? Also what mic arm are you using? 💛💛💛
Hey! Congrats on ur new toy! You’re very kind ❤️ I have two mics because one is going into the looper first and one goes direct into the interface. But i have changed my set up these days so I just use one mic now. I talk about it in my new studio tour video.
Love the intro. Take a look at youtube "Beatbox battle" amazing what this guy's can do with this looper and FX , You show a guy calling Brez he's amazing too. But the level output is too low, the level between your sing and the recording is not like the 600 ?
Hello! I use FCB 505 with RC 505! I'm thinking of switching to RC505MK2, but have not yet found a video on how to connect an FCB 1010 with an FCB505 chip to RC505MK2. Is there a step by step guide somewhere?
Thanks for the video! It’s great. Question… Does the 505 start your loop whenever or it only comes in on at set quantised tempo. Also can you adjust the tempo of a loop that playing on the fly? Cheers
If you hit it right on beat 1, it wil start Recording right away. But if you hit it early, it will blink until it gets to that divider mark (The end of the Measure) and it will start recording on that first beat.
so do you think this is easier than the rc600? looking to get a looper, but no experience other than a single pedal looper on my guitar. have you used this live?
I’ve used the 505 live on stream a few times. And I’ve used it at gigs where I wasn’t playing instruments. When I’m playing guitar or piano, I think I prefer the 600 just so I can have my hands free to play the instrument. But that’s me. It’s practically challenging when you need hands for everything
Hi!! I have a question that I can't seem to get an answer to. Would you please tell me how you lessen background noise from your other loops from bleeding over to the new ones, during live performances?
This can be really tricky! In these videos, I am using in-ear-monitors. And it’s amazing to not have literally any bleed! But for live gigs, sometimes you can get creative and point the speakers in different ways to reduce the feedback, you can use any ear monitors for live shows, and I also make sure to record any rhythmic loops that don’t have pitches before I record the chords. Because if it’s not specifically feedback, the tones bleeding into other loops is what makes it sound mushy and bad. When I’m playing live, I also like to keep this stage volume as quiet as possible. I hope this helps! Depending on what you were looping, it might be worth trying out different mics with different pick up patterns. Some will pick up less room sound than others
Hey Ellie! I’m not using it for midi into the pedal. I do have a midi cable plugging it into the interface for when I make demos, but for my performances, I’m currently just using the built in sounds. However I just bought some cool midi sounds so I’m doing some re-routing to be able to use midi in my loops so stay tuned! 🤘😆
Hello Emily my apologies for the english it's from google translate. I have some advice to ask you, we are a group of 3 people, two guitarists and a singer, and we would like to buy this RC 505 mk2. I would like to add that I would like to prepare rhythm and bass loops in advance, most certainly a little keyboard and then use it live. The question is do you think this product will suit us. thank you for your help and congratulations for your channel and the good mood and the joy of living that you release. May life be good to you.
I know you didn't ask me, but in case you're still curious, I can say that this particular model was developed in direct response to beat boxers. So of course, it can work in other areas and genres but live beatboxing was the original impetus. I believe there's a way to copy over loops via USB, but the memory is internal, so it's not feasible to swap out memory cards for different gigs, for example. That being said, if you plan to use it at waist level while standing, then it just wins on form factor, next to perhaps the ElectroHarmonix 45000/95000. Maybe look at that first, but for your use case I think you really only have a choice between the two. Hope that helps.
Hey! Just saw this comment and i'm not sure if you're still deciding. Who is planning to operate the loops? I think preparing the rhythms in advance could be a good move! I do find this looper difficult to use if i'm playing guitar. if i need to play guitar with it, it helps to have an external switch to control the all start/stop so i can do that with my foot while playing guitar with both hands. I appreciate the question and please let me know what you decide!
How does this compare to the the 600? I want to use this in a live setting with multiple instruments. The 505 looks easier to use? But the 600 seems to work better with guitar?
For sure! They have the exact same internal computer. But the way you operate them is going to be different. I love with the 505 does, but since I mostly play guitar in my gigs, I kind of need to bring the 600 as my main vehicle
I’m not sure I know what you mean… The loops are recorded until you delete them. You can save loops and recordings on them so you can come back later. If the 600 can do what you’re asking, than the 505 also can. they have the same internal computer
@@EmilyMcVicker Thanks...So if you moved to another memory slot...Say U were playing on memory 1 and then went to memory 2...if U hadn't saved , everything you'd done would be gone....So with most loopers u must stop the loop in order to save but as I understand it the 600 can save on the fly so to speak...hope thats right as i ordered one today! ...and as u say, if the 600 can do it then the 505 mkii should as be able also.
@@EmilyMcVicker I’ve got several Boss guitar effects processors and I like buttons and knobs too, but they’ve been using this same bland screen on stuff for awhile now. Other effects started using touchscreens awhile ago and a touchscreen combined with knobs and buttons just makes things quicker, easier, and you don’t need a pair of binocs to see those tiny Boss screens. I’m just tired of that same old tiny screen.

Hey. Thanks for this, great! Would you consider doing a dedicated comparison video of the RC-600 and RC-505 mkii? It would be super helpful. I get the sense you're more comfortable with the 600, but just wondered what your personal thoughts are. I'm trying to decide which one to get! Thanks
Hey! Ya I think it started as just games. But now they have tons of categories and the music category has changed my life! My page is twitch.tv/EMILYMCVICKER
Hi Emily, Can you do a video playing the 505mk2 with your feet and a guitar I'm curious how doable it is. Also do you prefer the 505mk2 to the 600 and if so what are some of the reasons?
Ha! That sound fun but it really wouldn’t do well with feet. It will break. The 600 is for the feet and it’s metal (instead of plastic) and was built for that. I have been wanting to hook up an external foot switch to use w the 505 and be able to at least all start/stop with it: that might be the best of both worlds! Stay tuned ☺️
Anybody know when boss will release drivers for mac os 13 ? Or do the drivers for mac os 12 also work with 13 ? I stupidly updated my mac and now regretting it..
Hello. I have a problem. I bought a new Boss RC 600 looper. On my computer I have songs made on my old Boss RC 50 looper. How do I make the RC 50 wav files work on the RC 600? Because so far the RC 600 looper shows the message FILE NOT SUPPORTED. And I have a lot of trouble, because there are 10 songs that are not easy. RC 600 wav file and RC 50 wav file. But in the RC 50 I mostly have MONO files, or is that a problem? And some settings need to be made .. tips. Please. I have a recital in a few days ..
@ElVagabundo777 Visit the Boss homepage and navigate to the download page for the software for your system (Mac / PC). After installing the software and connecting the devices use the import function. It will convert your old files to the needed format of your new RC. 😊 The user interface isn‘t too fancy, but it‘ll do the trick. Personally I‘ve found that it pays to redo the tracks on the new device, because the quality and the possibilities are so much better. Stereo for one, and then all the new FXs and higher audio resolution are worth exploiting.
Shoot I know some other folks have dealt with that too. I don’t have any loops saved on my looper, so I might not be the best to ask. Are you able to drop them into a DAW on ur computer? May you could re-expert them and see if they can be recognized that way. At least you will have them saved.
Hold the phone - you don't save any loops? That really jumped out...All I've used is a Ditto, lol, and the fact it won't save stuff is why Im going up the line to a 600 or the like. Just surprised me, considering how nice yours are.
Oh ya. I build from scratch each time. I just practice building quickly and efficiently. My goal is to make the show go smoothly and sing transitions are a big part of that. The less re-adjusting I need to do between each tune the better 👍
If I were a horn player or playing a single-note instrument, I might have to save more for the sake of time. But with guitars and keys, I can sing and record and play at the same time. Just takes practice
Well I’ve been a boss looper user long before this. I have two 600s cuz I like to have a back up. I bought one of them and boss sent me the other. Feel free to check out my performances if you don’t think I’m genuine. I do use both pedals regularly 👍

Aww Mauri! Thanks for saying that. This was a fun one. I am dripping in loopers now! I’m trying to think how I can combine them all
you are a very very very goooood singer ! congrats ! amazing and sweet voice...
Thanks friend! 🥰🥰🥰
I love your videos....but on this one I was hoping you would show how you hooked up you cables which outputs and inputs ...to where and where did you get that dual mic mount?
Oh! I can totally talk about that! Thanks for asking 🤘😆 great idea!
very helpful video after getting frustrated with my brandndew loop station. trying to be patient
Oh good! What has been frustrating u the most?
really really nice.the RC 505s nice too.
Thanks 👍
@@EmilyMcVicker ahhh awesome Emily!! It’s looking good!
@@EmilyMcVickerCool! I hear ya. This will be very interesting once you get deeper with it. 🎉🎊 I'm sure you'll crack the code. I'm excited! Thank you 🙏
You can turn off loop sync and quantize, also there is a Sept 2022 firmware update (V1.21)
My Dear ! You are Amazing ! 🤍💕
Aww thanks friend! Thanks for writing :)
great job, em
Thank you friend!!
Thank you for this very helpful and nice to watch video !
Oh great! Glad you liked it thank you 🙏
Schock verliebt❤
Aww 🥰
bet Roland got some nice keyboards that will work with the RC 505
I bet they ALL will!
You are adorable !!! Love your style !!!
Aww you’re sweet! Thank you!! 🙏
Thank you for reviewing this and demoing! I have a question though… does it save all the recorded loops in a bank so you don’t have to re-record them during a live performance? Like I can pick from a bank which loops I want to play back. I also play live piano to my loops so I need to have vocals ready to go.
Yes of course! You can save whatever settings or recording you want on it for each memory. It has 100 memories 👍
OMG SO GOOOOD! How do you get the mk2 to loop the keyboard? Sadly i can't get mine to work :(
I have the output of my keyboard going into the input of the looper. How have you set yours up?
That's so cool 😍
Thanks Thomas! Welcome in!
its so much fun!! Glad you got one.
interested in your journey with it.
Yes! Similar and different. Let’s see how this goes!
Christmas feeling 😅
Haha i felt it in this video for sure! Xmas in summertime 😂❤️🤟
Aww snap 🥰🥰🥰 you are so sweet to me. I’m so glad to have you onboard! Did you happen to pick a looper yet?
Yes! Well, two. A Ditto+ to record ideas to pass around (just give the unit to a music friend to take home), and a Headrush Looperboard as sort of a studio hub. I use Reaper DAW, but sort of want an intermediary, with foot switches. Sort of a holding tank, a white board.
I have only used a Ditto standard for years and have no idea what I'm doing past that lol.
I’ve had a few different mic arms. My current favorite is this one.. amzn.to/3rxBsVN
Love the intro. Take a look at youtube "Beatbox battle" amazing what this guy's can do with this looper and FX , You show a guy calling Brez he's amazing too. But the level output is too low, the level between your sing and the recording is not like the 600 ?
I think I still had the track faders too low when I shoulda had them full up. I’m learning!
i got the vt4..u gon make me get this one for xmas lol..good vid
Lol that’s funny. I think ur gonna love it! It’s a good ine
Hello! I use FCB 505 with RC 505! I'm thinking of switching to RC505MK2, but have not yet found a video on how to connect an FCB 1010 with an FCB505 chip to RC505MK2. Is there a step by step guide somewhere?
Interesting I haven’t done that. Are you able to do it with the original 505?
Thanks for the video! It’s great.
Question… Does the 505 start your loop whenever or it only comes in on at set quantised tempo. Also can you adjust the tempo of a loop that playing on the fly? Cheers
If you hit it right on beat 1, it wil start Recording right away. But if you hit it early, it will blink until it gets to that divider mark (The end of the Measure) and it will start recording on that first beat.
@@EmilyMcVicker thank for that info. Can that feature be turned off?
Which version should i buy, if i want start my journey with loopstation ?:)
505 or 505 mk2?
They are so similar. But the mk2 is going to outlive the original probably.
thanks
You're welcome!
so do you think this is easier than the rc600? looking to get a looper, but no experience other than a single pedal looper on my guitar. have you used this live?
Turn mic down.
Very good. Congtatulaicion.
🥰🥰🥰🥰
hey there ! how did you plug your midi keyboard to the boss since there is no usb plug on the boss ? thanks
❤

Great review. Can you please do a comparison video between BOSS RC600 & Headrush looperboard also.
This has been mentioned a few times! Lemme find a Headrush to play with…. 🤔
Can the RC-505mkii save while the loop is running....I understand that the 600 can do this!
Boss really needs to start putting touchscreens on everything.
You think? I kind of love the actual buttons and knobs
Hi Emily have you ever tried the boss ve 8 singer ?? Brill machine ive got 2 of these Also 2of the Roland RC600 loopers and 1of the RC 550 mk11 and getting another of these not up to Your standard yet!!!
Is that the red vocal FX pedal? I played w one once but didn’t end up buying. I don’t use too many Fx. But they are so fun!
Hi, great channel. I am looking for one info and can not find it. Is it possible to use the 505 or 600 with 6 (mono) inputs going to 6 (mono)outputs?
Yes! You just have to “unlink” the inputs. And you will have more inputs in the mixer you can control too with your many more inputs
@@EmilyMcVicker Thanks for the fast info. I still have one question....when the Boss RC-600 is running, is there a break when you change the memories? I want to connect some memories without a break....
Between this n rc 600 Which is better
They are the same with what they can do. I would recommend different based on what ur skills are
Hey. Thanks for this, great! Would you consider doing a dedicated comparison video of the RC-600 and RC-505 mkii? It would be super helpful. I get the sense you're more comfortable with the 600, but just wondered what your personal thoughts are. I'm trying to decide which one to get! Thanks
that is such a great idea! I'll put it on the list!
What is Twitch? I looked it up in Playstore and it came up a gaming platform. Is this the right one?
Hey! Ya I think it started as just games. But now they have tons of categories and the music category has changed my life! My page is twitch.tv/EMILYMCVICKER
👏👏👏
Hi Emily,
Can you do a video playing the 505mk2 with your feet and a guitar I'm curious how doable it is.
I love your eyes and beautiful smile!!!!!!!!
gracias!
You change your looper? Or combine both?
Roland sent me this one to demo. Trying to decide how I could make them all work together 🤔
G'day Emily like your channel and you as a lady and a performer all good things
All good things! Thanks John!
Anybody know when boss will release drivers for mac os 13 ? Or do the drivers for mac os 12 also work with 13 ? I stupidly updated my mac and now regretting it..
Oh no!! Wow I didn’t know that could happen. I hope they fix that!
The user interface isn‘t too fancy, but it‘ll do the trick.
If I want to make a demo, I’d rather do with an actual DAw on the computer
"We ain't kids no more."
Laughs while playing with new toy.
Haha me or you?
Ok, I know you’re a salesperson, but you’re so dang cute. And you got the pipes! Makes me wanna buy this. Haha.
Hey! Not a sales person. Just a musician that does a lot of looping 🤘😆 Glad u like the videos
Do you use any software?
What kind of software? Like a Daw?
Can you do a demo of the Boss RC10 R
hahahahah you're so funny
If you're looking to give away any of your old loopers anytime soon I could sure use one!
:D :D :D
pahaha my bandmates???
Not really into the "youtubers" getting things for free vibe
Tends to lack objectivness, so guessing the 600 cane the same way?
Well I’ve been a boss looper user long before this. I have two 600s cuz I like to have a back up. I bought one of them and boss sent me the other.
Feel free to check out my performances if you don’t think I’m genuine. I do use both pedals regularly 👍
Stand By Me?
Oh that’s a great idea!!! Thank you!
Do you play that one?
When the song started is what I think they meant cuz I heard the chords for Stand By Me. Great performance & showcase of the Mk2.
10 seconds in and I’m out
Byeeeeeee!!!
hahaha so funny you are luve u :)
ha! aww thanks buddy ;)
That intro song hurt. You got yourself a new follower.dont become to grateful to some pr corp teams… ur doing em a favor. @boss: send more stuff her way, she solved a question others couldńt.

Oh interesting! Thanks for the comment. What problem are you referring to that I solved?
