It's a shame that this video has so few views because I've found this to be one of the most discouraging problems I've encountered. The pain just won't let me "immerse" myself in the music, and I imagine it's like this for many others. Thank you for the good advice and encouraging words!

Very timely for me...I have a slightly crooked little finger on my left hand from an injury 45 years ago. A few days ago my wrist started aching while playing arpeggios. I realized it immediately because it has happened before so I took a few days to rest! I was increasing tempo on the arpeggios when it started.

Thank you so much, Sir. This video is of great help for me. Im 76 years old and had a playing break of 30 years. Now that I'm on retirement l started again playing piano and with great passion. I really 'raped' my hands and forearms and have great pain. Having watched this video i will start exercising exactly according to your demonstrations and hope that l still can fix my hand damage. Thanks again. I keep watching your videos. Greetings from Germany.

How has it been going for you? I know how hand pain can be so annoying and can ruin the usually joyful experience of playing at the piano for me. I hope you've been able to overcome it and continue to play with passion! So nice to see older people pick piano back up, since a lot of people tell me "I wish I didn't drop it..." and don't believe me when I tell them it's not too late.

Hey Josh, any plans on taking up the transcendental etudes? I'd say do at least no.12 (chasse neige). It's beautiful.

Josh you should make a video on weightlifting. I would watch it. I lift weights twice a week and sprint once a week 😊

What would you recommend to a semi professional pianist 17 years old , i might have have carpal tunnel... But my piano technique not to sound egoistic is pretty much as effortless, relaxed, ergonomic as it can get ....

Very timely for me. I have had a left hand pinky infection for the last 20 days (healing already). I have been on the antibiotics (including IV for a week) for two weeks)

If one of you is dealing with a tendonitis: the fascia training stretching exercises by the Liebscher and Bracht experts completely eliminated it for me. It also fixed my issue of fingers moving on its own without my intention due to lack of stretching - the definition of the problem is called "Schnappfinger in Germany. If you have either one of these try the stretching exercises for the fingers on a regular base. A good nutrition and a good technique are also vital; dynamic relaxation of the fingers and hands and so on

Could I have a link to these exercises?

They call it "trigger finger" but this exercise also helps for tendonitis. I somehow cannot post the link, so you would have to google "try these trigger finger exercises" and "liebscher & bracht" to find the exercise. They have it on their website. Also be very gently when stretching, since overstretching can also cause injuries; if you want to stay in shape you want to do those for each finger (and the thumb, they have a similar exercise for it) for 1 minute to 3 minutes once a week on one day and for 1-3 minutes in the other direction, possibly on the next day. This prevents stiffness and unwanted movements. There is also a stretching exercise for each joint of the finger which I have not seen anywhere else yet. I might record a video on that one. There are different methods to treat the fingers, hand and wrist like massage, acupressure and so on. It is probably a good idea to use all of them in moderation in the long run. Please also do your own research and consult a doctor or a physician if you suffer from tendonitis or anything similar; a tendonitis might also have other causes or may appear with side causes like along with an acidic diet, overconsumption of caffeine etc.
