Thank you James. Right from the start my goal was to be able to perform it from memory with zero mistakes, so I started with carefully sight-reading the whole thing in an incredibly long 27 minutes (I still have the recording of that!) and then learning the various parts in ever more detail. In the end, the slippery socks and a dodgy switch on the pedal B3 were the performance issues! Lovely to hear from you, as always. I thought about you recently - about your understanding and appreciation of my "My Story" improvisation. Following your affirmation, I converted it to a score for you. I agree with you that it's rare now to get something novel that's so simple yet effective. I was very close to your home around a month ago. I think anyway. I collected my son from the Woburn Centerparcs. Sadly, I didn't think to meet up with you, though it probably wasn't a good time for other reasons. Happy Christmas to you too.
@JSB2500 Hello John, shame you didn't contact me if you were near - another time, perhaps? "My Story" has a special quality to it; I can't really put it into words, and perhaps that's for the best - music doesn't require 'deconstruction'. Your playing - slippery socks or not - is excellent and your ability to memorise enviable.
Simply outstanding..!! 👏
Fabulous! Absolutely wonderful, pristine, energetic and the pedaling cadenza is explosive, Bravo Maestro!
Really excellent playing and of course memorisation. Happy Christmas John.

Nice music, I just wonder about the stockings and the underpants. Are they also a tribute to christmas?
