    VW should of keep selling the Golf Sportwagen active in the US.

    It is so good, in fact, that VWoA is killing it off for 2020. Go figure ... we are delighted with our 2016 Golf Sportwagen and our 2001 Passat wagon.

      I love my '15 SE Sportwagen 1.8 bought new and now at 43k miles.
      Have gotten 39mpg and love the acceleration, power and economy.
      Cheers and VW is dumb to kill it in USA.
      Subaru sells tons of wagens here in the Pacific NW.

      I still love my '15 GSW SE TSI 6sp auto.

      Shame they don’t make the turbo diesel (TDI) anymore. A high mileage per gallon car like that would sell like hot cakes with today’s exorbitant gas prices.

    The VW Golf Sportwagen TSI is a great family car, but it is second best. The best is my 2015 Golf Sportwagen TDI which gets 49 mpg around town and 55 mpg doing 75 mph.

    VW changed what you get for the new se. You have to get sel for the premium stereo now and 17" rims.
    I have a '15 Sportwagen SE with fender premium audio, panoramic sunroof, push start, paddle shifters and 17" rims. No driver assist safety features though. Real tail pipes and awesome 1.8T engine.
    Cheers

      There is no SEL model for the Sportwagen in 2019.

      kbond2007 You’re lucky. You could pick the options that are important to you. I wish I could get the new lower trim with the Fender and leather bucket seats. Not interested in driver assist, 18” rims, don’t care for push start over reg key either.

      @@skopa1223 yes, 18s are stupid, 17s are great. VW is strange with their options now.
      Cheers

      You are lucky, driver assist is a lurking disaster. It can cause your car to slam on the brakes while driving on the highway because of a rock you would easily have driven around. My brother has a Touareg with adaptive cruise control. A rock or ice hit the sensor in the bumper and broke it. It cost him over $1500 to get his cruise control back.

      @@skopa1223 We got the S model for our Golf Sportwagen and Alltrack due to the nightmare of the panoramic sunroof in our 2009 Jetta Sportwagen. That meant we couldn't get the upgraded stereo and other features that we wanted, but we are super happy. Its hard to believe but the vinyl interior is way better than leather. Its cooler in the summer, warmer in the winter, and when we did the buyback on our 2009 Sportwagen TDI with 140k miles the interior was still like new. I loath the push button start on my Sportwagen, while our Alltrack has a traditional key. 18 inch rims ruin the ride.

    Sorry, but the 2019 Golf Sportwagon S and SE FWD has a 1.4L turbo engine with 147 hp and 184 lb-ft torque. The all-wheel drive models do come with a 1.8L engine that has 168 hp and 199 lb-ft torque. Since you are showing a SE model that means it has the 1.4L engine. The S model in either FWD or AWD can be had with either a manual or automatic transmission. Too bad you did not open up the hood.

      rizzle razzleuno dont let the numbers on the 1.4 fool you. It’s actually quite peppy. Not designed to be a speedy car but it does handle its own.

      @@brenmiller9408 It does as well as the old 20-valve 1.8T AUG on our 2001 Passat. That was rated at 150hp, as well. (The next revision, for 2001.5, was 170hp.) The Passat is a couple of pounds heavier than the Golf.

    Weird configuration, no parking sensors , no dual zone climate control, no navigation. My alltrack has got them all apart from back camera which i dont really like plus the rear traffic alert.

    Funny how Subaru Outback still outsells this VW wagon every year...... this VW wagon may be modern and high tech but the buyers don't care....they just want a reliable wagon....that's why Subaru is still the only king of wagon here in north America...

    They are not dual exhaust, they are fake.

    • @Snake-ms7sj
      @Snake-ms7sj 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well most modern cars are not really dual exhaust. Sure they have dual exhaust TIPS, but he exhaust pipes split off a single exhaust pipe coming from the engine exhaust manifold. Still at the exhaust tips are actually connected to an exhaust pipe. This new trend of putting fake exhaust tips in the rear bumper with no actual connection is down right cheesy. It's done better on some cars than others. Some I can actually see the real down turn tips under the rear of the car when I come up behind them at a stop light.

      It is actually dual exhaust they just have fake ports

    • @rizzlerazzleuno4733
      @rizzlerazzleuno4733 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@whoosted5096 In 99% of four cylinder engines there is one exhaust manifold, so a true dual exhaust on a four cylinder inline engine is not likely. The VW four cylinder engines do not have two exhaust manifolds, but some cars with four cylinder engines have the final muffler mounted transverse at the rear of the vehicle and exhaust pipes coming out of each end of the muffler. You can call this "dual exhaust" if you wish, but a V4, V6, V8, V10, V12, V16 engine is required to have a true dual exhaust system. The left and right holes in the lower body cladding of newer vehicles is a styling exercise. Just like the fake portholes, scoops, louvers and vents used a lot in the 1950s, 60s, 70s.............up until today. 🙂 One of my favorite silly fake things were the aftermarket grills some people put on Chevy Corvairs.

      It goes pretty close to flat, but not as good as our 2001 Passat wagon, on which the rear seat cushions pivot forward up against the backs of the front seats for a flat load floor. We are clinging to the Passat as long as we can -- awesome car.
