Tyler you have very quickly became my favorite Notre Dame Content Creator. Always inciteful, optimistic and realistic, plus a friendly demeanor and relatable as a ND fan. Please keep up the great work...and as always GO IRISH.
PS....These Service Academy games scare me, but this Defense seems different than years past. I think Navy scores fast and go up 10-0. We kick into gear at the end of 1st Quarter, start of the 2nd. Love goes for 200+ and 3TDs, also JD Price gets 100 yds all purpose. Riley throws for 250+ and 2TDs. Greathouse breaks out goes for 140 yds and 2 TDs. Watts ende up with a Pick 6 and Mills, Young, Bowen and KVA each have a Sack, with Bowen having 2, plus Sneed has a Pick and Fumble Recovery +has a sack of his own.
I like how you bantered back and made the interview feel more like two fans just talking about our favorite team than some sort of math problem to be solved or painful teeth pull to get over with.
Thanks for the fun cast - I was slightly surprised as I did not expect it, but always a good change to shake it up! Hey let Joe know to change his lighting or his filters a bit as these were halo-ing/ghosting on the stream. I will look forward to his cast on Saturday. Two questions below: I know these are late, so feel free to use them or not, now or when/if you feel like it.
Two point Questions:
1)
The voters in the AP poll are largely regarded as entertainment value only, by many in the playoff echoesphere, and that where the Irish are now will not matter since the committee will 'use logic, and the rules established' to rank and place teams either in or out of the discussion about playoff positions in a more appropriate way, that is somewhow more favorable to the Irish.
Do you agree or disagree with this sentiment?
2)
It is with some trepidation that I hear very little about the DL depth as an emphasis (although you, and I.I. have covered this pretty well), and almost no discussion about the condition of ND's OL depth since the last two post-games. Certainly Leonard and Dembrock have proven their abilities to _significantly_ mitigate its porous nature. But now we get Navy, not only a threat to cause injury to rushing DL players, but OLs as well. At issue is 'our old friend' the injury raven.
I know, I said it out loud, but what are the chances we have anybody left beside scout team and other walk-ons by December? Who's left who isn't already taking snaps on the line, and what is your view player by player of those still outside rotation?
Go Irish!
i live about 20 mins from NOTRE DAME. its a special place.. my grandpa was an usher back in the 80s 90s and he would sneak us in i got to go to a game in 93 vs FSU and i was 8
ND has a real fight on their hands with this one. They better bring the team that beat Stanford and not the NIU team
I'm nervous as hell. I've had a special ritual this season that hasn't failed once.
I play as ND against who they will play on NCAA 25. If I win that week, the Irish win. The only one I didn't do?...was NIU.
That said my Navy game was an Irish win of 42 - 14.
Joe George really good take on the Irish have him back btw UVA isn t terrible
Tyler, love ur show every morning from rt here in new carlisle Indiana. I'm wondering why everybody was calling that niu loss so bad? Until 2 weeks ago they were ranked no 2 in defensive stats. Still in the top 50 in defense. Along with just about everyone the Irish played.
I think ND can avoid an upset to Navy and continue the push for a playoff spot by winning the game against Navy!
I love Marcus but the reasons for losses in those 3 games go directly to him. I am not giving up on him but we blew Marshall, Ohio State, Stanford and NIU because of poor decision making. We only played well against Ohio State but we lost those games because of ill-advised decisions by the coaches.
This is a huge game for both teams if ND wins out they’ll have a shot and if army and navy are both undefeated going into that game the winner gets in.
ND is %99 for the postseason if they win out. But that’s a loooooong way away. My point is, Navy is the only thing that matters! Navy has a lot of eye candy. You had better win your assignment every play. Stop looking ahead! Last time we did that we lost to NIU. And screw style points. Winning is all that matters
Also, most of my comments went towards whoever this Joe guy is in the video. Looking past Navy is a mistake. They beat a strong Memphis team. They pass the ball a lot more now. And their identity is playing keep away like every year. Which in return, makes each offensive possession that much more precious.
Im assuming losing to
Northern ilinois, ..tends to put
Irish in a win out situation to have any shot at making any
Playoff bid thus year.
Notre Dame would not be here if it were not for Navy.
I find it funny how navy has noboy on schedule....uab temple af bucknell Memphis.....thats there schedule till us....notre dominants the entire game
Is this a lose, lose game/series for the Irish? If they win big, is the narrative going to be o its just Navy. And if they win a close game or happen to lose then it’s, this team isn’t a CFP caliber team and giving no credit to Navy.
Notre Dame has such a weak schedule they don’t deserve playoffs even with 1 loss
Then Texas AM is out too!
Texas AM schedule is way harder then nd. U lost to northern Illinois at home!!
