I'm from Indiana! I miss the Mom and Pop antique shops that I don't get as much in the suburbs and Chicago, but it's great when I go home and get to go there! You definitely should. The list is long and expansive on where you could go! Enjoy!
Haha, thank you! I'm so thrilled to hear that! My favorite is Andi from All Put Together because her style is very similar to mine (colorful, floral, loves brass, etc.) and I've learned a lot from her. I also like Laura Caldwell because she's so knowledgeable and informative even though her style is much more mid-century modern than mine - I've learned a lot from her as well. And the videos she produces are so well done! That's actually pretty much all I have time for to watch lol! BUT please share your favorites as well...I may take a peek when I have time!
Omg, I’m dying!! My reseller friend sent me the link to your channel and said “check this out…I think she’s in your neck of the woods.” Are you ever!! I live in Northbrook! Love watching you thrift at the NB GW! You’ve got a great eye! I’ve been reselling about 8 years and I also have a singleton and twins! If you’re ever looking for a thrifting buddy let me know 😉
Wild! I love it! Hi, neighbor! Oh my goodness, I have yet to meet any other re-sellers on here out and about, so I hope I run into you! Is your re-selling business online? I'd love to hear more about it because I'm still a newbie, but I prefer it because I could be home more with my tribe of kiddos (which I'm sure you get!). So funny you have a singleton and twins too...I'm loving it. I feel very blessed. Also very tired some days, but it's worth it! Lol. So far, the Goodwill in Northbrook is by far the best I've been too...where else are your go-to thrifts? I haven't travelled to the bins in Wisconsin yet, but it is on my radar when I have a day to commit to it! Nice to "meet" you! Glad you're here! Thank your friend for me for sending you! :)
Ahhhhh! Okayyy, I could definitely see that now that I've been a couple times to both. It's much more similar to Savers than Goodwill, so that makes sense!
Ok, I’ve shopped at every Village Thrift in the city as well as Chi Heights and East Chicago. I agree the homewear sections can be a hit or miss. And every location for the past few years have been highlighting the vintage T-shirts. I mainly go for the antique and vintage jewelry for resale, collecting, redesigning etc. The Village on Milwaukee Ave i.e Wicker park has a decent selection as far as home wears. Unique on Halstead in Bridgeport has a nice selection as well. Let me stop rambling. I can write a book ok all the thrift stores in Chi 😂. The Sal Army in Lincoln park has a very large selection for as well. I’m trying to get in the habit of attending more estate sales, kinda hard due to my work schedule. Good job Girl!!!!
Oh my goodness, I thought of you when I went there because I knew you said you frequent them…you’re probably the expert! Oh my goodness, I want to hear more about your vintage jewelry for re-selling! Do you have good luck with that? I rarely ever grab jewelry. You don’t ever have to worry about rambling…I welcome it! 😂 You would love Estate Sales! Especially the 50% off day. Cheers! Thank you for your insight! 😀
This year I got a blonde wig, still in the packaging, for a dollar and wore big sunglasses and was a diva, but it was just for a teams meeting online and as basic as it was, I was dressed up more than anyone else on the team! A different year I got a legit lab coat at a yard sale and was Abbey from NCIS. I did an iron on on the pocket that said NCIS and made a name badge and the whole bit. It was really fun. As a side note, i like the video being lots of separate stops across different days. I plan on doing the same!! I did finally post one. Super cringe. I'll get better as time goes on. 😂😂
Oh my goodness...how exciting! I've got to check it out...comment with what your channel name is below, so others can too! Those are awesome Halloween costumes...well played! Believe me, with time, it all gets better (except when you try to use a new video editing software like I have recently...then you'll want to throw your computer at the wall! ) lol. Oh brother!
@TinyFindsTreasures you are too sweet! Way too embarrassing to share just yet. I am just now watching it on TV and realizing it's only taking up a strip of space in the middle of the screen. Moan. More to learn than I realized. If you have any advice on tools to learn, I welcome the suggestions!
@@michh5874 No worries! When you're ready...share away! If you're using your phone to record, record everything in landscape (holding your phone horizontally!); otherwise, you'll get that orientation with black strips on each side. With a fancy camera, you don't have to do that, but with the phone, yes. In editing (if using iMovie), use the wand looking icon to auto-correct the color and sound quickly (selecting all your clips using "command + a" then press that wand). AND then hit the button to the right of sound (the one with different levels), click reduce background noise, and slide the lever to 100%. That should save you a couple hours of trying to figure that out and give you higher quality out of the gate. You'll get better as you go...once you get a decent video put together, I'd put it out there. Just make sure your audio is pretty good - no one sticks around for horrible audio. You'll get better as you go and gain experience. Remember, patience! You've got this! I would have paid to know all of that when starting out :) Good luck!
@@TinyFindsTreasures thanks so much for the advice! I messaged you in Instagram. So far I'm using capcut and canva but sounds like I need to add to it.
@@MaryDolan-tt7eo The Northbrook location off of Dundee…I’ve never had much luck at any other locations really. This one is the closest to my house as well, so almost 100% of the time, that’s where I go!
I’m in IN and I thrift but I’m close to Chicago and I’m excited to check out Chicago now

The jockey/horse is a coin bank
I figured it had something to do with that given the slot looking mechanism! Thanks for sharing!
