      Babies born on drugs are very irritable, cry regardless of what is done. You have to continue to give Iv meds in hospital to help. At home this child never stopped crying, won’t feed, won’t sleep and are many time shaken, hit, thrown etc. that will kill the baby. So if on drugs baby should have been left in foster home.

    • @sassysav6859
      @sassysav6859 4 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      It should but they are sooo understaffed with people that don’t have enough training in the field to manage cases on their own. Additionally, CPS consistently focuses on reuniting families and ends up putting them back in the hands of abusers and drug users because they think it’s more traumatic for kids to be in foster care. It’s why we see sooo many issues.
      They also tend to NOT take the bigger picture into consideration. If a young child always has bruises and isn’t old enough to verbalize what happened, the case workers just take the word of the parents.
      CPS needs more money to staff more case workers and they need to redo guidelines to have new case workers working with senior and experienced case workers instead of being on their own so soon. They need cops to get involved quickly when a child isn’t produced or when a parent the child doesn’t live with voices concern.

      As a former Child protective services worker, when a child is places back with the parents, that is ordered by the juvenile justice judges. My last case as a CPS worker was to put 3 kids back into an abusive home on order of the judge. The state welfare system has ZERO power.. they cant remove children from a home, that is done by a police officer, which is why an officer is present when a child is removed and when a child is placed back with the parent it MUST be ordered by a judge. The state CPS workers are the "face" of a broken system but that is only bc they are the ones that are in the home and seen more than anyone. They make recommendations to the court but at the end of the day the judge makes the rules.

      Unfortunately, CPS isn't really the one making those decisions. CPS produces a recommendation to a judge who is responsible for making such decisions. Many, many times, CPS disagrees with the judges decisions, however biological parents have a built in strong case to getting their children back. The system is in many ways broken, and the sad part is the children are the victims of the system.

    This breaks my heart...I was a Foster Mom. We adopted our last foster baby that we got at 3 weeks. Both of his parents were doing jail time for drug related crimes. I can’t imagine what this Foster Mom went through...we loved our son from the second they put him in my arms just as much as my biological children. He has Autism...probably from drug use and will not have a normal life. He is 18 years old now and is very loved, healthy and happy. I cannot fathom loosing him like this Foster Mom did, only to have him be tortured and then murdered. I feel so sorry the the Foster Family and the big brother. 😩😢

      Not in Texas. You or baby test positive and you will lose your rights. You can get the child back if you go through several steps. I know a girl who has lost all 7 of her children. Last 2 she lost because baby tested positive for morphine. She refused to do what she needed to get those two angels back. She was allowed to call and check on them but no physical contact at all. Couldn’t even visit family who ended up with the girls. We don’t play with that crap here. She sure uses the loss of all her children as if she never did anything wrong. Now the girls are with one of their sisters dad and family. “Mom” now prostitutes herself on the streets for drugs. Never has called or tried to straighten her life out for her children. Makes me sick.

    SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) - Two women who worked for Scioto County Children Services have been indicted on counts of endangering children.
    The prosecutor confirms the charges stem from their former employment at Children Services and cases where children died.
    Lisa Thomas, 56, of Wheelersburg, Ohio, is facing endangering children charges in connection with two separate cases. The first is surrounding the death of 2-month-old Dylan Groves. The second deals with the death of 5-year-old Annabell Greene.
    Renee Ginn, 54, of Garrison, Kentucky, is facing counts of endangering children and tampering with evidence. Her charges stem from the death of Annabell Greene.
