Gunung Padang & Gunung Gede - exploring the megalithic pyramid and hiking in West Java - Indonesia

- Welcome to this third instalment of INDOWILD - motorvlog of a me riding his Honda CB500x adventure motorbike around Indonesia.
In this episode I start in the capital city of Indonesia and as I snake my way across West Java I climb the magnificent Gunung Gede mountain in the puncak area of Java, close to Bogor. And then visit an ancient megalithic site called Gunung Padang in the Cianjur area.
It really is amazing to see gunung Padang, which some archeologists have estimated to be 25,000 years old. Making it one of the oldest megalithic sites of its kind in the world.

Apparently there is recent research saying again 25,000 years - it definitely needs more research.

kewl video , been to Indonesia me self and still puzzlin why da heck i cant ride me bike on da highway but stick in horrific traffic jam. cheers
Yea that pisses me off too. I pay 100% import tax for the motorbike, it cost me double the price to buy the bike in UK for example, but even after all that tax money I am still not allowed to use the bike on the highway. Only 4 wheels and above are allowed to use the highway
@@IndoWild Sorry about that. However, I suppose that Indonesia differs from other nations in that we have a lot more motorcycles here. Therefore, the purpose of a highway here is simply to divide large logistical vehicles from smaller ones, such as two-wheeled vehicles. It would be chaos if motorcyclists were permitted on a highway, after all.
I think you misunderstand what I mean. Absolutely they should not let motorbike on the toll. However with 500cc and above there is 100% import tax applied. Indonesia government call this a luxury item. And there are not many 500cc and above bike in Indonesia so I think they should allow the big bikes onto the toll.

Where did you get your bike? Rent/purchase? How much in total?
What was your setup for recording the video and audio while riding. I see a microphone it seems like and 2 cameras? Can you link the gear you used?
I bought my bike. They are around 200 million rupiah brand new.
I have 3 GoPros, 2x hero 7 and 1x gopro max. I have a microphone into one of the gopros.
I also have a Sony rx100vii, a gimbal, and a drone -DJI mavic air 2.
Some of the footage even shot with iPhone 11 Pro.
All I can say is my trip across took a few months of planning. Later this year I will go to Sulawesi. This also requires planning.

I bought it in bali. I don’t think it’s possible to rent one alone but there are some companies with adventure bike tours
@@IndoWild if that can help, moto indo is a beast, renting pretty much anywhere and dropping of pretty much on any island for a small fee. Paid 350$ for 24 days from Bali to jakarta
