Exactly what i was telling to my younger coworkers. Always try as much as you can. Ask questions to kitchen not only servers. There is no drink or food i could not sell if i tried it. Greetings from Croatia!
Please please please make a video on how to talk about wine, explain the difference in grapes, and also talk about rules of pairings. Basically just an in depth video of wine in fine dining
This is quite advanced and lengthy but we will move into it in the future. Until then, would you like to chat with us on Instagram to ask about the specific menu where you work now?
Hi, sir, when guests ask me to introduce the menu for them, I can only tell them the different names of dishes, could u pls let me know how to make a brief food and beverage recommendation for customers? thanks.
Start with telling them the different proteins like ”chicken, salmon, entrecote” and so on. After they hear that they’ll ask you to tell them more about the one that interests them the most. We will cover this in more detail so go to www.waitertips.academy and sign up
Hello mister, I have a question, actually I’m working like a server in the bar but I don’t reach to hunderstand the pronunciation of native English when they are asking me some drinks, because my English is not perfect and more I came from French speaking country, do you have a solution for me because I feel uncomfortable sometimes
You just have to improve your english. The problem wont go away until you do. Google all the drinks in french and then ask for the translation from google.
Hi, sir, I'm facing this problem at my workplace so the main thing is some customers are asking me we have allergy at that moment I cannot explain them properly so I need this solution......I'm a boy not girl
The solution is to ask you boss / the owner / the chef to write a list with all the most common allergies for the menu. All the servers should have access to this. Some things are always the same regardless of the restaurant you work in. For example cheese and milk always contains lactose. Bread always contains Gluten.
If your employer does not have regular tastings with the staff for educational purposes you might want to look for a new job that focuses on keeping the servers knowledge up to date
Some jobs will encourage you to taste cocktails and wine so that you can understand what you're serving. The won't encourage you to drink the whole cocktail or bottle of wine of course!

You can’t really drink alcoholic drinks on the job and alot of jobs won’t let u try them for free.
