Hey Laura, cool project! Just a little traffic safety recommendation: I would put a little orange childrens bike flag to the cart, so drivers who can't see the sidecart are alerted to the fact that something is there which usually isn't there;) Especially if you're having smudo ride along.
A very useful addition to your bike. A couple of my neighbours here in Chiang Mai (middle-aged ladies), use such an arrangement as their daily vehicle, for errands, going to market etc. The younger one pedals while the older one sits much like Smudo and enjoys the experience. It's amazing how irregular shaped objects and lengthy ones can fit in a sidecar, but won't fit in the modern family car. Very practical for short to medium journeys and avoids Gym fees.
Thank you for your videos, they have allowed me to interest many young people in metal working and into creating needed things by building them . Also your use of cycling is inspirational as a green alternative and affordability.
In these early videos, every shot is a beautifully framed photographic composition. Amazing lighting and perfect pacing in the editing, with chill music to boot, make this phase of LK a special treat to be dipped into and enjoyed.
Love it! I have transported so much wood with my bike - you can't imagine how much i would have appreciated such a sidecar, because the stock is often long or even bulky.
I don't even have any plans or will be building any thing from your video, but seeing things getting made seems to intrest me and for that reason I've watched all your videos. Great work Laura!!
I love your edits! Your well thought establishing shots help to tell story so good that I had to go back and watch 4 times to find them. I mean to say that great edits flow in a way that they often go unnoticed. I know it is a lot of work to get all those angles, but it's worth it. 👍🏼 Very nice!
This is amazing! I would be building this RIGHT now if I had a dog. And knew how to weld...and ride a bike. I really need to get my crap together over here.
Really great looking and practical extension there. I'm no expert but those welds look great. I like that you showed the first build and worked out what was wrong and fixed it.
I just discovered your channel and I can't get enough! Beautifully shot videos and your ingenuity and attention to detail amaze me! You just might be my new favorite TH-camr!!
Wow, excellent!!! Perfect for carrying the tool box also. Thank you, you just gave me a tremendous idea for my bike at work. I have to fix things in a multi level parking complex.
Wow, Laura! The sidecar is magnificent! I love the eye nuts for strapping your cargo down. I love the minimalism. And more than anything, I love the collapsible doglet-transporter crates! (And I really enjoy the skateboard mudguards/carrier racks. You've got the best bike!) Thanks for sharing this build!
Cool! My husband's old workplace was throwing out hundreds of those pallet collars. I convinced him to bring a few dozen home to make raised garden beds!
Your taste in music is the stuff any good documentary needs, that you do not have to rely on the verbal to maintain continuity speaks volumes, the photography always tells the necessary details €:-)}
Lovely job, nice to see a side trailer rather than the more usual rear ones, much easier to watch cargo & passengers. Nice welding & grind down on clean metal, so contrasting & better than my week of discomfort upside down welding under my Mercedes. Your video cheered me up, almost enough to carry on, but with snow falling feel better inside!
Nice job. I made one a couple of years back for my daughter (in stead of side-wheels, she was 3) and found it to be a lot more rigid when you add a diagonal in the back to the saddle pin or luggage rack...
Laura you are amazing i love all those videos! it is so strange because i was thinking about a sidecar for bicycles last year when i was traveling around europe on my bike and i somehow thought i was the first person getting this idea - and then i se you totally nail it great work!
i have heard a lot about your builds and projects just never taken the time to watch them. but from now on i will watch them all very well done videos thankyou for the great content
awesome sidecar build! We build these too! right now we have a racecar sidecar going on...and we just finished a steampunk one like a month ago. sidecars are cool!!!!
HEY!! She's got more cool tools than I've got!!! NOT FAIR!!! AHHH, but I've got a motorcycle with a sidecar, AND a girl friend that looks like Smudo!! TOP THAT!! (Smudos kisses are probably not as sloppy! )
Yupp... way better than the trailer and the verhicle is self-standing as well. Good for transportation of longer product if a balance could be found. And again a very very good cutting and video editing. Your camera work is really quite nice and has professional impression. Same process steps from two angles, foreground backgroud shifts, focus shift, blur... it is not only high quality making, it is high quality camera work as well. Chapeau, Chapeau... there are not much channels on that level.
This is awesome! While biking you can pet Smudo! My lovely dog Bob, won't sit in a car like this. Maybe I should learn him biking is more fun, going to one of my windmills by bike is cool, but boring without Bob. Great video again, looking forward to the next one! Best regards!
Nice! It got all ready in time! And you used the MIG/MAG-welding machine as well as the plasma-cutter in this project. Great to see that you are so quick to adopt your new tools. Plus you even managed to get Smudo on board :D What's not to love!
Great video, obviously took lots of time to put it together. And, I'm extremely jealous of how well-equipped your shop is! Except I didn't see a lathe or a mill. I'll bet you're hiding those, yes? Nice work on the sidecar!
Looked like the dog was enjoying not having to run and chase you! And the fact you can remove it when not needed is genius! Have a good one! :-) Kev B.
Actually I am looking for a bike with sidecar like tri bike to ride my son as we have lots in the Pihilippines but can’t find here in Canada...that’s why I got interest in your videos n you did amazing job...keeep it up love you videos 👏🏼👌🏻👋🏻🇨🇦❤️
I need one of those back here in Argentina. I have two bikes, cause I never learn to drive a car. And every hard wood I have I pick it up from the curve. And always have to ask my wife if "you are so kind to drive me five blocks from here because I spot some Wood in the curve from the bus". If I have one of this side bike cars I would be release of asking favours from her every time ;).
Awsome! You gave me a great idea on cutting out the wheel supports like you did from a bed frame! Only i aint got that fancy band saw or plasma cutter. But ill drill it and cut it with a hack saw or angle grinder.
Laura...you've already received numerous accolades re your craftsmanship and idea. I agree. More than anything, what struck me was the super-great editing job and camera work. A welcome relief...a no "B.S. step by step rendition free of clutter and unnecessary comment. It would have been more helpful at the beginning to show the finished product first so the viewer would have an idea and understanding as to where you were going with the construction. Overall a great job. L.B.

Cool project and Smudo looked more than happy too!

What a great bike. And that wagon is nice for bringing wood, and dogs and beer. Have a great week
What a great idea, Laura. A multi-purpose sidecar for a bicycle. Ingenious! Keep up the great work.

Your design it' s very practical. You resolved a problem that I ' ve been thinking too much years.
My two favourite parts of this were the flute playing and Smudo getting a ride. Thanks for a really good video.
I love your edits! Your well thought establishing shots help to tell story so good that I had to go back and watch 4 times to find them. I mean to say that great edits flow in a way that they often go unnoticed. I know it is a lot of work to get all those angles, but it's worth it. 👍🏼 Very nice!

Super cool! Great design, and seems like Smudo enjoys it.
Another great build. Glad to see Smudo in the action again.

I just discovered your channel and I can't get enough! Beautifully shot videos and your ingenuity and attention to detail amaze me! You just might be my new favorite TH-camr!!
Great build! You should put a reflector on the back of the trailer for increased visibility so cars don't try and pass too closely :)
Wow, excellent!!! Perfect for carrying the tool box also. Thank you, you just gave me a tremendous idea for my bike at work. I have to fix things in a multi level parking complex.

The more projects I watch, the more Admiration and Respect I get!!! You truly are a excellent craftswoman!!! 💯
coolest and most original build i've seen in a while
I'm actually working on a cargo sidecar for my motorcycle and this has helped give me new inspiration, thank you!
Cool! My husband's old workplace was throwing out hundreds of those pallet collars. I convinced him to bring a few dozen home to make raised garden beds!

Love the modular aspect most of all. Lovely work.

yea!!! Smudo!!!!. the first thing i thought was i hope smudo gets a ride lol
Same here!

If that bike does'nt get stolen, I don't know what is wrong with people, it is the most Awesome bicycle ever 😀😎 Amazing work as always Laura 😉👍

the only way i can describe Laura's videos is visual endorphin.
SAVE THE ENDORPHINS!
Compliment! I love it! And Smudo got a joyride!
Great job Laura , good for Smudo , good for hauling stuff and the best apart the bike can stand on its own...... Sweet!!!
very cool that you did a side car instead of a trailer. Gotta love the plasma machine :)
i have heard a lot about your builds and projects just never taken the time to watch them. but from now on i will watch them all very well done videos thankyou for the great content
+halfdipped.com sweet! glad you like my work!
I knew that plasma cutter would become important to your work! Nice job Laura and Lincoln!
That's one lucky dog! looks so happy to ride along in the side car. Good job on the build.

Alex Zani good spot
Good work. Good ideas. I might steal a few. Much respect. Keep crafting things and posting them please.
awesome sidecar build! We build these too! right now we have a racecar sidecar going on...and we just finished a steampunk one like a month ago. sidecars are cool!!!!
this bike is just getting cooler ❤ good job
Awesome build, and your getting very professional results from your practice with the welder. Awesome addition for your pup Smudo!
Looks like Smudo loves it!! Great project as usual Laura
Love the dog, I only have a cat but I could see him sitting there enjoying the ride. great way of transport without using petrol or other fuels.
Awesome work Laura! I really like how it's modular and can serve different functions. 👍👊
Yeah! Smudo looks so happy! This is one top notch bike!
Probably the best video on how to attach the sidecar to the bicycle . Certainly in the front mount but I didnt catch the attachment in the rear . !
Very cool! nice work all around!

I love ur sidecar ,It inspire me to build one just like it ,thank u Laura .
Nice to meet you, lady. Good job!
I love your new character (the notebook). I like to stop the video when it is in the frame so I can get clues of what is to come. Brilliant!

Looks like Smudo was enjoying the ride, a lot! Fantastic work :)
Loved the lumber transport use...vrry cool project
Smudo is going to need his own channel soon. Great video.
Love the camera work.. two passions collide and create art within art
Cool build! The use of the wooden extension frames is a great idea!
wieder einmal ein großartiges Ergebnis! Ich bin zum wiederholten mal schwer begeistert 😊
You’re an inspiration, Laura.
Laura´s Bicycle Sidecar is a winner 😁👍🏻
Excellent. I really like the small skateboard luggage racks.
Лаура, Вы молодец ! Многим парням стоит поучиться у Вас. Успехов в творчестве!
Just as I was thinking.... I could build that for my dogs. You then build it for your dog. Brilliant.
This makes my Dutch heart happy. Cheers, neighbour!
+Redmar Kerkhof :)

Great Project Laura, all the best vehicles were made Right Hand Drive!
Awesome work!! Congratulations.
Looked like the dog was enjoying not having to run and chase you! And the fact you can remove it when not needed is genius!

Very cool! clever thinking with the crate fence :)

Great Job Laura, genius design once again, I just love your presentation.....
Thanks for sharing.
Ah, there's my dose of positive energy! Thanks Laura!
Awesome! I knew it wasn't finished till Smudo was able to ride. Add a seat, and you can be a taxi for people who drank too much. Lol!
You've basically made yourself a very cool vehicle, great project!
bravo Laura,
from Greece!
nice and clean job, Laura
cute dog, cool music, and some interesting mods on that bike.
Really cool!. I just love the way you grind your welding , I don't know how you do it
You absolutely make some of the Best maker videos out there.
Excellent work.I love what you do.very creative.
I love the way you always make your own unique fittings!
Awsome! You gave me a great idea on cutting out the wheel supports like you did from a bed frame! Only i aint got that fancy band saw or plasma cutter. But ill drill it and cut it with a hack saw or angle grinder.
