Great talk. The idea of moving forward, orientation to the future, directed by the future...final causation in, with and thru Christ...not sure exactly how to put it, but fair to say this is a major theme of this talk and Teilhard's work? And breaking out of the box...Teilhard providing a key or showing the way out...freeing ourselves from hardened/fossilized conventional/traditional/institutional thinking when it comes to church and Christianity, and so too with the purely bottom-up model of material science, another box we're breaking out of. And our participation in the process, individual persons and humanity as a whole as vehicles and catalysts of evolution, the "spearhead" of the process...great stuff! I'll be listening to this one again. Thank you

Seems like we have to read much about Jesus' purpose and the universe's plan into Paul's few words "That in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:". If it was so foundational, might we not expect Jesus himself to have spoken of this? (though some may say that the gospels are not a direct enough transmission). It is not the idea that the soul may play a pivotal role in the progression of creation that I question - it would seem to be one of the few that allows a genuine, rational and wholesome purpose for humanity - just the notion that this directive is comprehended by and established in Christianity and is somehow claimed by, and is causal and peculiar to a nominal Christ.
