Man I wish I had the tools and skills to do something like this! All the induction kits I find online are either suck heat straight from the exhaust or cost a clean fortune

im not saying mine wont suck up the hot air but it is slightly better.
you dont need expensive tools to do something like this but tools come over time.
skill comes from learning and making mistakes, i would always encourage people to learn new skills

Nice project, but how hot is the air on the airintake right now? Do you have a custom ECU so you can read the intake temp?
Maybe add some shielding from the exhaust heat? You look like to be more then capable of fixing up something like that yourself :)

the temp of the air near the filter is the equivalent of a hot pocket fresh out the oven so not great.
on the mk1 ive just got a standard ecu at the moment
yeah i really should make a heat shield
