Just a few weeks ago, I underwent my hardest Deltarune challenge yet and now it's time to pick up where we left off in Chapter 2. This is the story of a timeline where Kris gets a bit more injured from their fall into the Dark World, and one where their journey is much, much harder because of it. After all, everybody bleeds right? Can Deltarune's hardest challenge truly be beaten in Chapter 2 as well, or is it too much to overcome?

Headcanon that the reason why Susie and Ralsei don't react to Kris bleeding to death is because they are the only human they've ever seen, so they just assume this is normal human behaviour.
Ralsei: Is that normal?
Susie: Yeah, its just normal human stuff, they're fine.

For the sweet cap and k_k fight: the attacks are actually synced with the music and aren't really random
By random he meant in terms of direction, and when they switch from the upper attack to the side attack, and which side attack it is.
You can attack them to stop them from attacking and it doesn't do anything to recruits
*You start to lose vision and feel more and more weary.
*And the food in your pockets look more and more appetizing by the second.
Man the fall from the dark world was so heavy, all the blood transferred to the head instead of the legs
In the sweet capn cakes fight, I'm surprised you didn't want to cheese it by dancing with kris and attacking with susie and ralsei to make one of them drink the milk. In doing this it makes it so they won't chuck different bullets at you.
Yes but after each milk their attacks get stronger

@@thebrickinquestion The whole point is to not hit the bullets but graze them as much as possible, if you get hit you'd die either way

You're lucky you're playing on the patched version of Ch2. In the first one, the Sweet Cap'n Cakes fight was bugged and the attacks lasted like 1 1/2 minutes each.
I thought the attacks seemed suprisingly long on my first playthrough.
I haven't replayed the game because of this bossfight (I played shortly after launch) and only now I hear that it was just a bug.
You could have just skipped their attacks.
I played chapter 2 day of release. I thought that was normal.
I actually still have the initial version installed on my pc.
With the Top Cake, if you had given it back to the baker, you would have an infinitely refillable version called the Spin Cake, that actually heals 140 during chapter 2, and will get better each chapter.

The sweet cap’n cakes fight isn’t entirely random, they always throw bullets to the music if I remember correctly
but waiting for the optimal beat to dodge isn’t exactly that challenging, I guess

@@tpdagamer2572 it actually does, pretty sure someone made a video where they deleted the songs from the files and made it so there were no projectiles. That wouldn’t work for this either though since there would be no TP to grind on, so it’d be impossible anyway lol 😅

@@alexuz441 actually, if you proceed to attacking every enemy right from the cyber field, landing the final blow by Kris, you can get high max HP, making tanking hits easier later.
Actually, the sweep cap’n cakes fight isn’t VERY random, it’s rhythmically based, basically the attacks are in tune with the music

I have a feeling the only reason why grazing now gives you TP as well as health is because without it, Spamton would obviously be friggin' impossible.
Related to Spamton, in the vanilla game, it's actually impossible to die to Spamton's final attack because every bullet takes off 10% of the party's current HP and damage is rounded down.
Imagine how hard pre-patch Sweet Cap’n Cakes boss would be 💀

Btw I think shooting Spamton NEO during his [specil] attack shortens the amount of time he is performing it. And hopefully you didn't forget equipping the dealmaker after the fight lol
Quick tip for the rollercoaster Berdly:
you can actually attack him to 50% hp and he will be tired, so you can use pacify and the end will play out the same just faster

I hope in the future and the person who made this mod is going to change up the dialogue so then everyone is slightly concerned for Kris even the enemies but they still won’t show any mercy will still attack you like normal

Being pacifist didnt only make the challenge harder, but easier as well, since your thrash machines hp depends on amount of recruits you have.
Maybe tearing his heart out wasn't their BEST idea

During the second Burgly fight he’s just giving you paper cuts so then you bleed out more

now this seems too advanced for a mod but I suggest that the lower health kris has the longer it takes to actually attack as well as more misses the lower the health they have
A nice detail to the mod would de that you leave a pool of blood, at least in important fights
It would be cool if Toby actually put this in the game as a hard mode. He would probably have to re-flavor it as something else and not just Kris bleeding though.

I read the patch notes and the devs really said “Skill Issue” about your lancer fight pain
Something that would’ve made the Spamton fight easier for you is Deltarune’s hidden element system. Spamton’s attacks are “cat/puppet” element, and the mannequin as well as the frayed bowtie you can buy from Spamton have a hidden resistance to “cat/puppet” attacks. This makes them the best armor for Spamton even though they don’t give much defense, though only Kris can equip the mannequin and Susie won’t equip bowtie, so the ideal armor set up is the mannequin and a frayed bowtie for Kris, 2 Royal pins or a Royal pin and the chain mail for Susie, and 2 frayed bowties for Ralsie.
Unfortunately neither of those pieces of armor are available in Snowgrave, so if you do come back to that you’re screwed.

My brother in christ, the battle with Sweet Cap'n Cakes has them shooting bullets to the music. It's way less random than you think.
Just so you know, sweet capn cakes’ attacks rely on the song playing.
This needs to be mixed with the randomizer for the ultimate challenge
or better yet combine the snowgrave neo mod with this hp drain mechanic.
so many things he could have done to make things easier like clicking popups to insta spare or pressing f1 during spamton neo. and he didn't know sweet capn cakes attack based on the music.

Completing insane challenge fills you with determination
In the SCC boss fight the attack patterns are different every time because the patterns are based on what part of the song is playing while they attack you
If I remember correctly, the sweet cap n' cakes boss fight might be synced to the music, so if you wait for the right moment in the song it'll be the same attack.
Or I could be completely wrong.

How to go from "extremely challenging" to "impossible"
@@grape_protogen I think it would actually be easier. If the bleeding is reduced in a way that allows you to get through all areas if you play perfectly (with different healings and such), what makes the challenge hard will be finding the best paths and the best healing items to get through the game, and not learning hard mechanics of fights.
Even though it's true that while you are fighting you won't have access to healing items, the bleeding will be so low, that normal encounters will actually be used to heal thanks to ralsei, and bossfights will be just slightly harder then the regualar ones, since it's just bossfights but itemless, and a fair amount of grazing (non as insane as in the mod played by this guy)
Also if the bleeding is the same in both ch1 and ch2, ch2 is insanely easier, since you get access to the "box" at every savefile which allows to store like 50 items, so every save file can be used to get filled with healings.
So the whole thing will become more of a knowledge challenge.

Kris: I was born with glass bones and paper skin. Every morning I break my legs, and every afternoon I break my arms. At night I lie awake in agony until my heart attacks put me to sleep.
I think something that could have helped, though granted slightly, with Spamton NEO is the mannequin, because though it has worse defense it also grants resistance to puppet/cat attacks, which includes most attacks from NEO. The frayed bowtie spamton sells also grants some resistance to his attacks, so you could have Kris with the mannequin and ralsei with a bowtie or 2 just in case they ever got hit (Susie unfortunately can't equip either, but her hp should be high enough to withstand most attacks)
You can skip Sweet Cap'n Cakes if you dance with kris and attack with the others for 5 rounds (when they heal the turn skips to yours)
Sweet Cap'n Cakes' attack pattern isn't actually random, it goes along with the music.

better because you can have "infinite" of them and it still maxes out kris's health also it increases healing for every chapter
but you still can get one for each chapter,so I still think the TOPCAKE is better.

The problem with the spin cake is that fundamentally, you can't refill your Spin Cake eitherway until the end of the chapter. So you're just holding onto a worse healing item you can only use 1 per chapter.
Huh , that's funny considering Kris doesn't matter at all when a battle is afoot and only the souls existence matters.
In this mod we get the opposite. Kris is our ultimate chess peace. A ,,king" if you will , rather than the pawn they serve as in the game proper.
So out of curiosity... If you set your Thrash to have a duck head, you get the ability to do lifesteal when punching.
Would that any point make the Giga Queen battle even easier?

thing to note: In the GIGA queen fight, you can punch queen 3 times before she performs her next attack.

The Giga Queen fight is actually kind of hard, but since you spared everyone,
the Thrash machine had a lot of health, making it pretty easy.
And a Tip for the Spamton NEO fight: during the Final Attack, when he shoots the [Big Shots],
you can keep shooting him to reduce the turn length.
can I make a suggestion
if you wanna listen to this are you able to change attacks by any chance? cuz if you could I think it’d be cool to make some attacks easier or harder or change them altogether
@@snakesbakecookies Yes, we can change Attacks, but we wanted to keep this mod as just being this one Challenge.
Although, some Attacks give more or less Healing when being grazed, or stops completely for some cutscene like parts, like for Spamton NEO and Jevil to make them possible.
But we are currently working on a Hardmode mod, that will change pretty much every Attack, but it will still take a while before that gets released.

for spamton neo, the best armor is mannequin and frayed bowtie, because they decrease the damage taken from spamton NEO's attacks, as well as cat attacks
