Shen Jiu is pitiful.. I wish someone could have helped him talked to him before he crossed the line I wish Qi-ge…. told him earlier ..why. Why.. and not just think that he’s fine and be good to him from then explanations would have at least in my mind it would have eased some of the bitterness in his heart , it might anger him tell him it’s just excuses at first but I know he likes his Qi-ge especially since he wouldn’t be this bitter for so long if not and he wouldn’t have chased him out and be bad to him to make him hate Shen jiu enough that he abandons him but Qi-ge still in the end dies for him in the og work it’s tragic Shen jiu is tragic

Like till then he thought SQQ was a feelingless monster, but then he realised SQQ actually held some sort of twisted love for YQY, he was capable of forming relationships and having affection and treated Binghe heartlessly simply because didn't believe that Binghe was worth it.

As far as I could tell... probably not :,)... Yqy and sj were both slaves and sj had been purchased by the qiu family, in which he had been mistreated. In one of the occasions where sj was locked up, yqy promised sj that he would return to rescue him (because yqy was leaving to enter a sect). But yqy never returned (because he was in a cave for a few years) and sj, tired of waiting, left. When they reunited, yqy didn't explain why he never came back for sj when asked and this resulted in their relationship sort of souring (among other things). This context is important because at the end of the novel, yqy explained to sqq (now sy) why he never returned, implying that yqy (and other people) haven't noticed that sqq wasn't... sqq anymore. And this is probably because they attributed his change in personality to his qi deviation.
