Sunland. Good choice. It's only about 5 miles further north of Burbank. An older, working class, more historic neighborhood where you can pay less/get more in apartment space.. Plus, you have beautiful Hanson Dam park and the Verdugo Mtn's within a mile walking distance. Keep on.

Wow, has it gotten bad...When I first moved to LA in 1996, a 2 bedroom, 2 full bath above Glenoaks was $600 a month. It was right after the rug shaking that was the Northridge quake, so rents had been brought down quite a bit at that time. Before I left in 2008, we had moved to another complex just a block up and the next street over, and I was paying $1200, just getting ready to become $1400 for a similar sized apartment in a building that was - for that price - old, and no longer worth it. Not a week after we moved out, a double homocide and suicide happened in that very building. Yay. We literally dodged a bulled getting the F out of there when we did. I would hate to be an aspiring transplant looking for work in animation or any of the studios nowadays. Just flippin' impossible. Wow.

In animation/vfx you don't transplant there without a job first. And then it's not too bad because jobs are there. Only issue is rent is a bit high compared to an entry level salary.

Thanks for your video. I am looking to rent something over the summer. I was wondering about safety, did you feel safe in burbank?

I would recommend visiting the neighborhood before you sign just so you can see for yourself but I feel like most of Burbank is pretty safe.

Would you recommend living at the Luxe in Burbank?
I’m looking to rent a studio or a 1 bedroom in that same apartment complex but was wondering what your experience was and if you would recommend it ?

I never really had any issues there. The neighborhood was pretty safe and the management was attentive. It’s just a small space for a hefty price.

What you find in Burbank is pretty small living areas for high rent that is why I moved to Sunland which is only about 20 minutes away from Burbank and it is very nice there

When renting in Burbank you have to factor in the random road tax you get from the road pirate Police Department. Anywhere from 2:50 to $600 every 3 months

Only if u drive like an idiot... Which you sound like you very much do. In that case, good. Hope they ticket you 500 to 1200 every month til you either move far away or learn how to drive and not put other people's lives in jeopardy cos you want to act like an idiot.

@@MyRoadtoHollywood I almost rented an apartment @ the luxe in Burbank about 3 or 4 months ago... Paid the $52 credit check fee and made the $200 deposit on a 1 bedroom @ $1790 per mo. (Not incl utilities or a fridge)
I ended up finding a much nicer and larger 1bedroom, in Burbank for $1590 and took that one instead - forfeiting my deposit. Oh well.
      Are you still in Burbank?
