Honesty, I preciate your honesty. I think biker gel is 30 % better and 70 % marketing. A lot car / motorcycle saddle upholstering shops just use fome and real lether. Yours is VINYL ? You said lether .
Yeah I've had friends with the tuck and roll and they say it's a little more comfy. They also say the Lucky Dave's step up is more comfortable because it's curved instead of just a flat wall.
@@JonsMotorcycles I purchased the 2020 Softail Standard which basically a stripped down Street Bob, I'm still ok with the stock seat since I really don't do long road trips, but when I do jump on the throttle, and love doing that, I do have to hold on for dear life. Was looking at the Saddlemen cause all the reviews say it locks you in place, and looks pretty good, but none of the reviews show the underside and what it will do to the fender, thank you for that. What seat did you get? I am interested cause you seem to be honest about products you purchase.
Great review! Hope you don’t mind me asking, 6’ tall and purchased a ‘16 fat boy lo.. riding position has me crunched over with low stock bars and the stock seat. Back aches after an hour or so.. love this seat and wanted on my old sportster.. want apes as well.. what do you think, this seat w/14” apes? Trying to get more comfort

Does the seat push you forward a bit more than a stock seat? I got a forty-eight and i'm 5'5, been looking at these seats but i'm not sure if it would help scoot me forward.
I’m 5’5 as well, it pushes you a little forward but it’s a very wide seat , so it spreads your legs apart and makes it harder to flat foot while stopped .

I went for the sundowner two-up seat. Doesn't look as cool, but it's comfortable for both rider and passenger and doesn't ruin the fender at all..

If you put some of the Clear protective tape on the contact points it helps, always done this to my installs. Prevents damage for the most part.
Every saddleman I've had feels great on short rides, but absolutely fucking kills my ass and back on 200+mile days.
Plasti dip on Amazon. Paint the rivets with it it will coat them might stop the paint getting damaged.

It’s a fake leather made by saddlemen. They say it’s designed to be more weather resistant than leather, but it’s for sure not real leather.
I bought a Le Pera seat. Looks like a Saddleman / Mustang Seat but is a lot more comfortable.
Makes you wonder why they didn't use something else to hold on the leather... a seat shouldn't mess up your paint

It is about 500 miles, there isn't a huge difference before and after break in in my opinion though.

Mines by conelysusa but they’re out of business, you can get the same fairing from imzzelite or jdcustoms though

Unfortunately no, I used the Harley one for a couple days and it's awful. Better to just have the passenger wear a backpack.

IMZZElite and JD customs makes a similar one, the one I have is Conely's USA and they went out of business.
