    That's what happens when you put that Hot Rod engine in there! LOL no I really like your car. I would challenge you to a drag race in my '68 Valiant but you would have to stand outside the car with the keys in your pocket until I took off :-)

    A shame the turbo didn’t make mr jones fuel efficient enough to not need it anymore! Lol it sounds good can’t wait to see it run 12’s!

    You should see a nut with a screwdriver slot in the center on top of the steering box. Loosen the nut and turn the screw in just until the slack in the steering is gone. Re-tighten the nut.

    I worked for a Chevrolet dealership. GM had some cars they donated to the local Vocational School. We headed out in a company truck with a car trailer. About 5 am I looked at the gas gauge and it was on E. I told the driver and he had not been paying attention. The first gas station we stopped at was closed. The second was a truck stop in Ohio and they only had diesel. The next gas station we pulled into and the truck engine stopped running and we coasted to the fuel pump. LOL The rest of the trip was good.

    That water is pretty normal. Humidity plus the little bits of water left in the engine from the bad head gaskets. With our alcohol powered big block with a vacuum pump we get about that much water with a little milky oil every pass.

    Byproduct of compressed air is condensation.

  • @srnmb2569
    @srnmb2569 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    That catch can must be picking up the condensation from the humid air and hot air passing through the hose. Weird.
    Man, I wish I would have went the mangnum, turbo, automatic route.
    I was looking to make my 4 door 68' Dart different and stand out too. I went with the 4 speed, 383 big block combo. Like you, I did it on a tight budget, but dang that is definitely an attention getter at the fraction of the cost. Love Mr.Jones.

    Drive it around again and see if you can duplicate the water in the catch can. You had a fair amount of water in the engine before, you drained and refilled it but some of that water may have remained in the oil galley and other internal crevasses of the engine. As you drove and the engine got hot it may have heated up residual water and steamed off and into your catch can. Now that the catch can is empty drive it around a while and see if you get a bunch more or not. Then you can see if my thought is correct or not. Good luck, you’re getting there.

      Catch can is doing its job as is the baffles. Just some resident moisture inside the engine coming out.

    @rong4189 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Yeah that’s weird. Could it be the high Florida humidity? If it is are all the other cars running around with water in their oil? Should you have a PCV system on it too? All I know is it’s good the catch can is taking care of it or that water would end up in the bottom of the oil pan, and that wouldn’t be good at all!

    You may want to change your catch can from a vented style to a vacuum one. In order to pull out that much blow by you will need a vacuum source such as the intake manifold or a barb right in front of the turbo. Ideally both. One will be used under vacuum and the other will be used under boost. I can tell you more about the routing and parts needed if need be.

    it is pretty high in water density in the south so condensate from air moisture in the oil catch can from the crankcase may have to have a closed vacuum system seen lot 440 do that some time windage tray helps nife cute the crank

      I HATE that, and it's Everywhere at Every show. If we wanted to see new shit, we'd go to a dealership. I met up with some older relatives of mine at a big, great car show once , because they said they were bringing a Charger. When I got there , it was a new Charger. And they wondered why everyone was walking right past it. I have no idea what goes through these people's minds.

    Looking good
    Steam is fairly normal and is a by product of the combustion process especially when cold outside blow by not is not helping equation
    Heaps of oil not so great.
    A pcv setup as per a factory setup has its suction side going to turbo inlet. Ie plumb catch can breather to inlet and add breather else were on engine.
    I would be drawing from the valley through catch can/oil separator setup to turbo inlet and breath in from rocker covers

    very nice ride , you put a lot into it , not sure on the water , but if your oil is clear and you are not losing coolant it is probably OK , just a question , do you use gas with Ethanol , which sucks in moisture ??? You know there was a time when your vehicle had to be 20-25 years old to get in to a car show , now you just open up the check book and buy yourself a 10 second street machine !!!! you had to work to get 600HP out of a V8 engine and it would barely idle !!!!!I I got out of cars and went into restoring military vehicles , lots of fun !!!! although you can't buy just one , I have five currently and btw Florida has a very active military group . I belong to a military vehicle club , and we use our vehicles to honor the veterans and show our vehicles at military events , stay safe bob k

      I had to adjust the gear box in my 1965 barracuda. It is manual steer. I did have a 1970 valiant I had to adjust it and a few others I have owned. I have to say I want to do a v8 swap on my barracuda. The turbo add on is a brilliant touch. It makes me curious how the red truck would run with a turbo.

    same tuners and same off the lot modern cars 😂 I hear them reeving up the fart muffler in the background 😂. saw a few classics . Mr. Jones has them beat 😎👍🏁. I forgot what mufflers you running on Mr. Jones. get a can of BG oil additive called RF-7 . It comes in a stainless steel looking can with a purple label on eBay . I run it in my engines and so does my mailman . it creates a slick surface on the internal engine parts and helps the seals and helps with compression. it actually works . just make sure not to get on your or your clothes ect its sticky and makes oil webs . water is from the high vaccum pressure and the humidity collecting 🤔
