I'm a huge fan of John Krasinski and this is now one of my very favorite interviews with him ever. Your questions were thoughtful and deep and you clearly have a gift for putting people at ease. Thank you so much, I'll be treasuring this one forever!
@mrbrockpeters i agree but i also think john has had some great interviews as well. i would say they are both similar. i watched most of his interviews and he is so genuine.
This guy is an amazing interviewer. He brought out good stories by being so well prepared, but also deep conversation that goes far beyond the norm. Awesome. And I love John Krasinski. LOVED A Quiet Place, so amazing. Saw it yesterday, and already planning when I can go see it in the theater again.
Back at uni I was on a field trip to Much Music for a new media class. We putted about checking out the production side of things. Lo and behold, Strombo founds out about this, sits us down on studio bleachers, and chats with us for a good half an hour, giving us advice on breaking into the industry. Our prof clearly did not know who he was and he was under no obligation to even say hi to us, but Strombo took a good chunk out of his day for us. He's not faking it-- he's a really good guy who's deeply interested in other people.
This is a really great interview. I've been a fan of John for many years, but I still learned so many new things about him in this interview and am left with a greater appreciation of him. Also, Strombo could interview a rock and somehow make it interesting! Haha.
I honestly love how insightful George is. His interviews are always meaningful and it takes a lot of skill in my opinion to not only ask novel questions but also have the interviewee give eloquent responses. Such a breath of fresh air (yes compared to the lighthearted, painstakingly repetitive questions on late night television). I'm glad he still surprises his guests with the information he and his team seem to always dig up. I hope you keep interviewing for as long as you can.
Rarely have I enjoyed an interview. Well researched, very entertaining and informative. lots of substance and very focused on the topic at hand, the craft of the artist and not the gossipy things about their personal lives for the fun of it. Great Job.
Love this interview, George asks great questions and actually listens to the answers. And John K, what can I say, I have always liked him and it's just a joy seeing him develop from The Office in such a positive way. And, you know, I think his marriage to Emily B. might just last. If it doesn't, I don't want to know about it!
So glad I found this channel. I love (and have missed) George’s interviews. They’re always so enlightening and entertaining! Enjoy both of these guys!!
Just an amazing interview. Reminds me of when you still had the show, you always done good research and seem to amaze your guest with how much you know. Would love to see more great interviews.
top notch! i love finding out exactly what this conversation revealed. about both of the individuals in it. the questions being entertaianed, you know by the responses of john that they are being appreciated. thank you both so much for letting me watch ;}
I watched a Quite place 4 times! Only Avatar ,I am legend,Inception, paranormal activity 1 and conjuring, are others I watched as many times in the theater.
Fact: A Quiet Place is ranked 4th, all time highest opening weekend for an Horror Movie in USA (50 Million USD) beating The Conjuring (now number 5). A great feat for a movie which was not carried by an amazingly famous actor or Director or Writer known for you know, "Horror" films. Just pure critical praise and word of mouth from others. John K made sure by this movie, proving (by the genius direction, acting, writing, use of sound, environment, feedback science) that he is not just a "Jim" face but more.
Had to come here after watching Jimmy Kimmel completely botch an interview with Rami Malek. George, you have an unbelievable talent for interviewing, please never stop haha
I think we need to create a terminology for a person who raised like Krasinski his childhood is like living in a dungeon but in a positive way. his parents maybe try to serve him carefully for what he should consume and what he shouldnt at his childhood.
The original spec script is on Reddit. I read it. It's really interesting to see all that it was and all that it wasn't yet before JK rewrote it. If you google A Quiet Place screenplay I believe its the first result on Reddit that comes up.
I can listen to John Krasinski all day. He’s genuinely an interesting and smart guy to listen to.
8:12 I need to remember this advice: "One of the most confident things you could say to a person is, "I don't know.""
The hallmark of greatness: modesty. Knowing what you don't know.

I dont know why im still impressed at how good George is at this. Great interview.
never gets old :)

So eloquent and genuine. John is definitely a new favorite.
Fantastic interview. This is a whole other league compared to typical late night.

John is the epitome of a nice guy.

Great interview. I love the religious take. I struggle a lot with religion and hearing John talk about how he perceives his own faith was great.
Awesome conversation. I love how appreciative John was at the end :).
Strombo, you're the man! ...such a great fellow Canadian (and Torontonian).

Q. Were the out of sync audio/video bits an aesthetic choice?
John Krasinski chorographs fights in the UFC, his fight character is named Mike Chiesa
haha... someone forgot to color grade this to B&W
why does the cameraman spend more time on George than the guest ?
Wonder what the original script was like>....
