Converting coal to a liquid fuel, coal liquefaction, allows coal to be utilized as an alternative to oil. Direct liquefaction and indirect liquefaction are the two different methods available, where the indirect one, gasifies the coal to syngas and produces needed liquid hydrocarbon fuels through Fischer--Tropsch process, is introduced here. It contains eight steps as follows: Gasification, Cooling, Dedust, H2/CO ratio adjustment, Desulfurization, Fischer-Tropsch Reaction, Separation, and Hydrocracking.

Do the hydrogenation of various substances and garbage from various places
After all biological decay become petrol ?
So we mix hydrogen with it at will ?

The most important question here is: What is the Energy Return On Investment (EROI) ratio for this process?

When oil hit $60 per barrel, Coal liquification became economical. that is why Sasol in South Africa is doing so well. OPEC prices are between $74 and $78.

By 2100 the technology to convert coal cleanly and safely into electricity, synthetic oil, and synthetic gas will be perfected. The U.S. has enough coal to supply the U. S. for centuries into the future. These synthetic oils and gases can be transported of huge distances with conventional pipelines.
