I would not recommend travelling in July, we went mid July 2023 to celebrate a milestone birthday and spent majority of our trip in lockdown due to a cyclone. This included not being allowed to use our pool villa, too dangerous. It is a small island and although we didn’t get to see much the one day we could travel we went to a fishing village for lunch and the seafood was sublime. Best we had on our trip. Also we stayed in a 5 star resort and were extremely disappointed in the lack of Vietnamese cruisine on offer. I don’t travel overseas to get western food I make at home. For what we did see briefly the island looked interesting but we only got out for half a day in a 10 day trip.
