i actually had to retire from dance a few years ago, but i still love all your videos to death. i'm living vicariously through you and your viewers haha
GAH, the variations video thing sounds so good! Here in Malaysia, we have technique classes and the grades syllabus where it's more on performing but we never actually learn variations. Also, thanks soooo much for answering my question and my last name is pronounced Tän but it's okay most people get it wrong. I hope that you'll be one of my teachers when I audition for SAB next year!
I feel so bad for you! Everybody loved the idea from the beginning. I was lucky and heard of her variation idea this summer. Meaning she's starting in the fall so not as long of a wait thank god!
Fabulous tip about putting legs perpendicular against the wall to reduce swelling. And, also, focus on yourself and what you need to work on and what you are good doing. Very nice production, too! Thanks for sharing, Katie!
Your two videos are amazing! You're a natural in front of a camera and your answers are so helpful! You don't have to apologize about mispronouncing names. Nobody will really mind. Mostly we are focused on the information you are giving. I hope you are feeling more and more healthy.
Thanks so much for taking all the time to do this and answer all our questions. All your advice is so genuine and caring! I am very excited for your upcoming videos now :-) Variations videos sound great!
THANK YOU FOR THE TENDINITIS QUESTION! I got tendinitis from using my foot stretcher too harshly and without warming up my feet correctly/enough. I will definitely take your advice! And to anyone reading this comment: PLEASE be careful if you're using a foot stretcher! I got mine last year and I was really excited to use it so I pushed wayyyy to far! Also make sure to warm up your feet and ankles properly and enough before you start class!
Kathryn Morgan It would be really cool if the camera is facing your back, so that we can mirror the movements. Or, you could just flip the video, so we don't have to mentally process the left hand and the right hand. :)
I for one wear tights over my leotards simply because it is more comfortable. Like that you can adjust them if they feel uncomfortable in the belly region. Also, it keeps your skirt in place. But apart from that it surely has something to do with being out of school, being an advaced dancer now... ;)
I know no one asked me, but I just wanted to say a lot of dancers wear tights over their leotards to help them and their instructors see if their hips are in the right position instead of tilting, especially when going into coupé or possé.
Thank you so much for these insightful videos you have helped answer questions I never thought I would have answered - especially by someone of your calibre. I love watching your videos here in Australia and look forward to your channel expanding even further :) thanks so much!!
I think you are so gorgeous! I absolutely adore your personality; you are so inspirational and elegant! What is your typical diet like? What is your favourite ballet? What is your favourite variation? Have you ever gone on tour? If so, where to?
I LOVE this video! thank you so much for doing this and for answering my questions as well. I would love to see more of these videos. And the variations video is such a great idea! would love to see that as well. Thank you :)
The variation Video would be such a great thing!! :) but could you make a Video about outturn exersizes? And thank you so mich for all the Videos they are so helpful!!
VARIATION VIDEOS 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 My studio doesn't provide variation class during the year and we don't have any boys so I don't get partnering ether. That's a big problem of mine. I would love the variation videos!
Please, Please, Please do variations videos!!!!! I would love to learn different variations button studio doesn't offer it, and it would be amazing if you could do them!
This was so great, thank you so much. I just have one more question, what do you think of a performing arts high school like interlochen or walnut hill? Again thanks so much. My name is very hard to pronounce so you can just say Ella if that's better
In the place I live, the ballet level is not very high. There is ballet but I wouldn't call it professional. I love ballet and it's a passion for me. I also want to be a professional dancer. That is my dream! My parents don't have enough money to send me to a professional school... What should I do?
Hi Katie! I want to be a professional dancer, and I have an opportunity to train and possibly be able to compete at the YAGP competition. I hope to get a scholarship to a school. What do you think about these competitions? Do you have any tips for me to perform well? Thank you :)
also i would like some advice: I am at an intermediate/advanced level in my ballet training (im 15) and I love my ballet school but there isn't a ton of options for classes. Sure there is tap and jazz but I can only take about 3 ballet classes a week (I WANT MORE). My ballet school is amazing and is specifically known for ballet...what should I do? i just built an amazing dance studio in my basement with marly floors and mirrors and barres but I feel like practicing by myself all the time wont do much:/ help?
I live in Colombia and I want to be a professional dancer, but here there is not professional dance schools. Do you know any school that offers a program for people of other countries? Or what do you recomend for me to do? (Sorry for my english)
Do ballet schools and companies care about how tall you are. I'm 15 and I'm almost 5'9, is this too tall to dance professionally. I know that if a girl is too tall it can be hard for a boy to partner her. Also do you know if there are certain school that like taller girls?
Hello, I was wondering if you could create a video or a blog post on Thyroid Disorder. Myself and the rest of my family believe my weight gain and other health issues are related to hypothyroidism and I’m quite of scared about how this might have a result in my future as a dancer. I know I’m still young and medication will help but the psychological effect on myself esteem might do some damage, also i believe that hearing some type of suggestions or experiences on your medical journey to get fit and healthy would not just benefit myself but others who are on the same boat as yourself. Thank you :) xx Sydney Australia. -Michelle

Nasduchamp, and it’s also easier when you need to go to the toilet. You don’t have to strip completely.
I would love variations classes. I've never had a chance to take them. Also good luck with Kennedy!
