But Dave, you have cured that remorse and doubt! This amp sounds GLORIOUS! I'm now excited again about the amp's arrival.

I own a DR Tone Master, the Blackface version, and I so deeply love it, it's just the perfect amp for me, the best I've ever owned so far. It sounds beautiful, weighs nothing and is versatile and loud enough for every possible scenario I might need it. Recording on a studio? Yes, both from the speaker and the direct out with IRs. Playing live with my band? Yes, and I can adjust the attenuator on the back to keep my front pannel volume unaltered and still adapt the level to the room. Rehearsing or just noodling in my room? Yes, it can be quiet enough to play at 11:00 p.m. without sacrificing tone and upsetting the neighbors. My only advice? If you use distortion pedals (overdrive, fuzz, distortion, boost or even compressor), you might want to upgrade the firmware to get rid of the virtual bright cap. I upgraded mine to the firmware for the Blonde version, without bright cap and improved reverb control... And I'm convinced I've never played anything as good and versatile (again, for what I play/look for/do) Do enjoy your Tone Master and tell those tube snobs to keep their mouths shut! I know it may seem rather simple, but I absolutely love that Fender includes the foot switch. Other brands (Boss) make you buy foot switches separately for their solid state amps. The Katana line is great, but it sure is annoying having to go out and buy something immediately after making an amp purchase.

This is the best demo of it I’ve heard, I love the look of joy on your face. The appeal for me is that with the attenuator you can get that sound at a more neighbour friendly volume if you’re a home player. I was set on getting the blonde version, but now I’m not as sure.

It was very obvious Mr. Dave you were having a blast, Which made all of us smile from ear to ear watching you. And you just sold another amplifier for the Fender Corporation, Anyway, stay blessed my friend and keep yourself safe.
That slow bluesy part you played from 25:26 was absolutely amazing. Peter Green is smiling somewhere. On the subject of the amp - great sounding but I wish it was more affordable. It's a lot of money for a digital processor with a speaker.
Fender really cracked the digital amp market with this beauty... you can already see Fender Blackface, Bassman etc... on the way soon.. great playing Mr S!☺👍🎸
Oh man, if they do the bassman properly with the 4x10 set up and that attenuation... it would be their best selling amp. Guarantee it. Everyone loves the bassman sound but hardly anyone can play at the volume needed for those things to cook.

Dave, you did the amp great justice, of course. I tried one myself and the tone is indeed incredible. Not exactly a "bargain," though, for a solid state/digital amp. It's definitely great--I'm just saying for me its price gets it into the real "investment" category.

That’s the Deluxe sound in my head, and that unmistakable tone the Deluxe is famous for. I hope that you find a way to hang onto it, or get one in the future. Cause your blues playing, and the combo with this amp is simply magical. Being able to crank it to ten without all that sag is just icing on the cake!
Is it the price worth it for a solid state amp, when a Katana 100 is about a third the price?
That's something you'd have to decide for yourself.
That tone at 9:40 just takes me away. My god that is why I got this amp.
Way to show off the reverb, so many reviews of this and nobody turns it up. I mean, it's called Deluxe Reverb, not the Barely Audible Reverb! Well played to the Captain...
mine has more noise. did you use noisegate?
No. I don't.
Oh the joys of 3 strings per side tuning instability dave. I owned an R9 that would have needed divine intervention to stay in tune. Got shod of it, went the telecaster route and wisest decision I ever made. You make sure Lee bungs you a few quid mate because you are selling amps for him
Fender+tele/strat+ your style of playing = 😍😍😍
I see it man, 'there isnt a guitar and amp' between your emotions and the sound in the room, you made it dude.
Are the guts made by hand or the other ?
Your enthusiasm and playing are incredible. This made me smile so much, such an honest and beautiful reaction Dave. I think I’m sold on that amp!
Turn up the bass! Or mic it better? The amp can't possibly sound that bad? Nice playing though!
Thoughts on this vs the super reverb TM?
There both amazing. :)
If fender can do a tone master Tweed, it’s game over! Well done as usual Dave!
🤘🏻😁🤘🏻
I'm sold, thank you Mr. Dave, you definitely just made my day.! And your personality is so refreshing and honest, completely uninhibited and totally fun. I've been looking at this amplifier and watching many TH-cam videos and their demonstrations, but you made this little girl amp come alive When you started putting it through the paces. I know there are many many folks out there who greatly appreciated your uninhibited straightforward no holds barred playing.
Got mine for $550 today😎
Why didn’t you get the blonde version, that one’s better.
Beggars can't be choosers.
@@thedavesimpson HAHA
Thank you Andertons! Cheers Dave!!
Awesome Dave, bang on with the Peter Green Blues tone that’s what you call a demo!
This or Fender Stage 100 DSP? :)
Hard to say but I'd probably go stage just for the more versatility. But. The stage doesn't do what this does.
@@thedavesimpson Thought so. Thanks to you I got a Stage 100 myself and it's wicked (and loud!). On the other hand, its indeed hard to beat the cranking up and reverb of this
Gorgeous playing, Dave. I almost shed a tear. You're a great player!
That blues tone 🥲
That sound absolutely amazing. Andertons should definitely let you keep it! I'm sure they will get some sales from this video.
Love the ripping tone from 22:48, then at 25:25 some introspective sweet blues, ahhhhh, Tea please !!
What camera do you use, looking to do the same with a Photography project. Thanks -

Simply insane when you played the Les Paul
A Les Paul into a Fender amp will surely wake the Tone Gods from their slumber.
Hi Dave, I am in love with your Les Paul would you not mind telling me what model it is?
Its a revelation rtl59. But. I have stripped the top.
Great sounding amp Dave! Thinking of grabbing one but wondering how it would take pedals and would I be able to gig with it at venues of 300 + ?
Yes and yes. :)
@@thedavesimpson thanks
I bought a Bugera attenuator ( $100) for my Bugera G20watt amp and I love it , turn all knobs to 12 o clock , then attenuator I turn down to low wattage and then jam as I have my tv volume at regular listening level and my neighbors don’t even know I’m rocking next door with all my tones sounding off 👍
Btw ... love that new amp you just unbox and made remember how much I missed my old 100 watt fender frontman amp ...
That Les Paul slow blue's groove destroyed me, class!
Does it take pedals well ?
Oh yes.
That yelp at the 21:57 mark totally made my day! Ah, the sound of joy!
I haven't been this excited for a demo in a while. Can't wait for the full review
Did you get the amp for free to keep, or are you getting paid to demonstrate the amp?
I didn't get it for free no.
Intially it was sent to me for review and then i was going to send it back once i was done. But.
I love it that much i have bought it. :)
@@thedavesimpson
Ok... Thanks for responding.... 😎
Whenever I watch a review or demonstration, I like to know how the person is invested in the gear.
But can it frusciante tone 🤔
With pedals yes.
LOVE THAT BLUES ON THE LES PAUL DAVE
That beard grew back very quick!
I was thinking that too.... Dave's facial hair is amped up on BEAST MODE! Lol
Congrats Dave, that should be nice cooperation with Andertons. Rob is on Malta and he cannot be involved so maybe it`s a chance for you to cooperate with Lee. I would like to see that, your last intro jam with Lee was insane.
He's a really decent chap that Lee Anderton, And that amps sounds proper nice soon as that reverb sound came on and you started playing i started to immediately relax and sink into the chair And i've been in some pain for the last few days so felt good. (spinal problems) just wondering how the amp would respond to an Electro Acoustic Dave? mmm
While you have it, do an A/B comparison with the Boss Nextone Special...also, if you can, they do have a firmware update for the Tone Master that makes the reverb a bit more tame.
What was the song you were playing at the start Dave? Sounded like Slow Dancing under a burning bridge.
Dave, you did the amp great justice, of course. I tried one myself and the tone is indeed incredible. Not exactly a "bargain," though, for a solid state/digital amp. It's definitely great--I'm just saying for me its price gets it into the real "investment" category.
best review of this amp ive seen, fed up of comparisons with the tube version! you can tell the presenters have made up their minds before they even listen to the tone master,it sounds superb to me.
Two things Dave:
Do you think you international audience understand what "good gravy" means? Puts a smile on my face everytime you say it.
That Chapman sounds fab with that amp.
I'm not sure to be honest. :)
Hell I thought that term was invented in my stomping grounds- the American Southland! Cheers from Louisiana! P[>
I recently purchased this amp and honestly it was your video that got me to hit the buy tab. I love your show and got the Marshall Master Reverb 30 after watching and that amp is great so keep ‘‘em coming … entertaining educational excitement You put it all in there…Thanks Steve from Connecticut
