Custom Player Name & Scrolling Text: RPG/Visual Novel Dialogue Tutorial p1. (Clickteam Fusion 2.5)

  • In this video we'll take a look at how to set up you games in Clickteam Fusion 2.5 to allow you to include customizable text into your string objects, as well as set up a text scrolling effect.
    Jump to 6:42 if you're only interesting in learning how to set up scrolling text. 14:22 to learn how to allow the player to input a custom name into the game.
    This is not a beginner's tutorial if you aren't already familiar with the basics of clickteam fusion it may be worth checking out some other tutorials and getting your feet on the ground first.
    This is my first bash at uploading to TH-cam, so I'm still playing around. Please let me know if there's anything I can do better in future installments!

    Thank you very much for this! I'm glad scrolling text ended up being as simple as it was, or that it's even possible. Here I was worried I'd have to have to set up a million events for each individual character to show up one by one or something else clunky like that, but this is a heck of a lot more elegant! So thank you!

    hey what if i want the text to become invisible like lets say the dialogue ends and cutscene how do i do that??

      You can set the string object's visibility to "invisible" in the event editor.
