I’m currently filming a 1977 coachman rebuild that I bought a week ago and I’m running into all the same problems. I feel crazy sinking all my time and money into it but it’s nice knowing there’s someone else out there doing the same thing! Good videos I subbed👌
I know right! I toy with just burning the thing down and filming it for youtube! I do though like bringing back old things to life. As I get closer to the finish line it'll feel more gratifying...I hope.
I’ve started gutting a 1973 Corsair and like it’s been mentioned, repairing one project starts another. I’m at the point where I plan to just gut it and to start from scratch. The roof is a hot mess. There is a few leaks here and there but thankfully not a ton! Thanks for the insight and hope it turned out great!!
you can but you may run into other challenges. The overlap would need to be sealed real good. I could see a scenario when traveling in heavy rain could push water into the seam and the interior of the wall.
I do not. Sorry about that. I was able to reuse mine so I didnt go down that search. It may cheaper to buy a rundown camper for cheap and just use the windows on it
Wait!!! you have 2x4 wood framing for your walls?! I am doing a complete reno on my 1988 Catalina and everything is 1x2/2x2 framing, man I'm jealous :D.
You always start at the bottom and work your way up when it comes to removing the siding also that particular trailer never had a black water tank the tank you are referring to is a freshwater tank but seeing that this video is a year old I’m sure you have figured that out by now.
Alot of people would have gave up looking at that mess.Good job.
Thanks! There were days I wanted to film blowing it up!

1988 Catalina for me, doing the same thing with mine.
Really found your video very helpful, may I ask you more information / link for the tin material!

Good luck with your repairs on the Corsair. Hopefully the number of projects don't creep up on you. Thank you for watching.
I've got a motorhome to renovate. Looks like you could use a Xtra hand and a few more tools.
Thank you for your time and energy...
I could always use some more tools! Thanks for watching.
This is very inspiring!!!
Thanks for posting.
Thank you for watching! Stay tuned for more videos on the way.
Haha I laughed so much cause I understand and deal with these issues all the time...
haha. Good to know someone else is in the same boat!
I looks good the work y’all doing, ? Where did you buy the siding?
Thank you. There should be a link in the description. It was from a place in California.
Is it possible to just cut warped areas out and use patch peices?
you can but you may run into other challenges. The overlap would need to be sealed real good. I could see a scenario when traveling in heavy rain could push water into the seam and the interior of the wall.
More of a job than I'd try. Good luck
You're telling me!!! We did finally "finish" it. Take a look at some of my other videos to see how she turned out. Thank you for watching!
For future reference the manufacturer uses a router to cut the siding to fit. Cool to watch them
Good to know. That would be way easier for sure! Thank you for watching.
I'm looking at redoing the siding of my 87' Road Ranger myself, hope all is going well with your rebuild.
It's getting there! Still have the plumbing and electrical and then all the finishing touches. Thanks for watching!
Where did you order the siding from? I’ve been looking all over I’m in the middle of doing the same thing
I believe it was Hemet Valley out of California. I believe I had a link in a comment.
Where did you get you new metal from? Thanks!

That looks like a Hemet Valley box. We are rebuilding a 1976 and had to do a frame up rebuild.
Ding ding ding. Good catch! They were great to deal with and delivered a good product.
Where did you purchase the aluminum siding?

They were great to work with.
Do you have any connections for having new windows built or where they can be bought?
I do not. Sorry about that. I was able to reuse mine so I didnt go down that search. It may cheaper to buy a rundown camper for cheap and just use the windows on it

"You get something done and you open up another can of worms." Yes, yes I did with mine.
Also found that alot of the old sizes of things aren't standard sizes these days...
@@ProjectNineOaks same, so I’m literally rebuilding and making it my own

Wouldn’t be easier to build a new trailer?
YES... but this is way more fun right...right....
Wow
should have started at the bottom and work your way up
