I have 2021 Volvo xc60 & it’s been extremely comfortable & the fit & finish is flawless. Mine vehicle was built in Gothenburg Sweden, not in “china.” It’s not Chinese car- they just own stock in company & Swedes control design.
Love my 2016 Polestar. 7 years of ownership and only replaced front end links and strut mounts which volvo covered under goodwill because car was just out of warranty and I always service my Polestar at the dealership. Car has been rock solid and super reliable.
Dealership service ain't always what it's cracked up to be. Dealer here put a flooded battery in my S60 when it should have been AGM, died in less than 2 years, and for the door latch recall, they forgot to put the screws back in one of the latches so it was flopping loose for a while before I noticed that the door was popped out slightly.
I’ve owned a 164e, 240, and a 740 many years ago. In the past three years we purchased two used 2016 XC90 (T8&T6). No problems. Thank you for sharing your experience with the community!
I subscribed to your chanel because you are a Volvo guy like me. Also when you said "everyone should own a Volvo at some point in their life" Love it haha.
Just bought a 2018 v60 Polestar. As much as I love the straight six I couldn't find one! Also the 8 speed works much better for my use anyways so I'm happy.
The motors and electronics are what sets them apart in regards to the durability over time, especially the 5-cylinder non-turbo models with a manual stick. Extremely reliable and holds up to the Scandinavian weather. I have a S80 2003 2.4 and the most surprising fact is the comfort of the leather seats.
Bought an XC60 T8 Rdesign, absolute weapon of a car. It saved me from a collision last week and also handled incredibly well on todays slippery ice. I've decided to sell my IS350 to get this V60 Polestar instead. Its got 105k miles on the clock but I think it still has many years left to enjoy!
How about discussing the piston ring issues in the V60/S60's ?...Recently was helping a friend buy a new car..(Used)...He fell in love with a 2015 V60, FWD, nothing fancy, but really low miles...Canada, btw. It had 70,000 km., looked the business, drove really well, but we had come across the piston ring crap shoot scenario...Took it to my very experienced Volvo guru.... The car was given an honest check over, then driven back to the dealer who assured us it was an A1 buy...To name the issues it had would take forever, hundreds of codes because it had a battery/cable issue, a thermostat issue, immediate fix needed, the oil issue/piston ring question. We also went to a Volvo dealership to inquire about Volvo redoing the piston rings....Bottom line, after what would cost close to 1500 buck of testing the oil...the dealership guy said in 2 or 3 cases out of 10, they would replace them free due to low mileage etc.....Would you take that risk ?...Personally, I am 4 Volvos in over the years...Currently in an 04 XC70 2.5T AWD with only 187,000 km....brilliant car. I am a Volvo lover, but this series, the P3's can be money pits.....The community needs to understand buying a Volvo for safety reasons is valid, but not truly digging into the model/year/issues or pros and cons could be a real game changer......Buyer beware alarm bells ring very loudly on these models....Conclusion, he bought a 2016 Mazda CX5..checked it out...no issues....Volvo for life to me, your channel is a great medium to talk through....
I almost bought a 2016 V60 CC with 15k miles - came across this same issues. Called Volvo USA and got the same story - testing was on ME and there was 0 guarantee they would honor the replacements if there were faulty piston rings since the “time for this was over” 27k for a 2016 and already red flags. Decided to fix my VW TDI and take her another 150k miles. (I owned a volvo 93 850 GLT - loved it even though she was temperamental)
We're on our 6th volvo. Met my wife when she was in an 89 Wagon, at one point I had a 98 S70 T5 manual transmission and she had a 99 S70 T5 auto. We still have the 99 and she's since had an XC60 T5 and it got hit/totaled and now she just took delivery of a 2023 XC90 Recharge T8 Ultimate which is just *Chef's kiss* Anyways, I'm glad Volvo didn't patent the 3 point harness seatbelt but comparing it to Tesla charging is a weird take. That's their intellectual property for charging, not for the good of the public. The rest of the charging industry just failed to produce anything near as reliable because there was no agreed upon standard like how ALL computers have to have USB a specific way vs, say Apple having their lightning port.
Absolutely true about the community being the best out there, if it wasn't for Devon Richard taking a leap of faith to tune my P2, I would had replaced a transmission that the previous tuner was blaming for drivability issues.
Love your videos. I’ve got a black 2015.5 V60 Rdesign with the Polestar tube. I love this car. That 6 Cylinder really is the cats meow when it comes to this car. It’s easy to work on! At least when compared to my 05 S50 T5. Can’t wait to pipe it. Stock the exhaust is too quiet. Sure is fun surprising people with it. Torque monster!
I definitely agree the 6 cylinder sounds better than my 2017 S60 polestar 2 liter. Love your videos!💪 fun fact only 1 V 60 polestar 2017 came to South Africa and only 23 2017 S60 polestars came to South Africa
I loved my 940 and then XC70, for a while at least. Unfortunately I've got 115,000 miles on the car and in that time I've had to completely replace the brakes, rotors and pads, five times. The road grit gets between the pads and the rotors scoring the rotors and the pads, the pads rust and seize to the rotors if the car is left to sit for any length of time, I've gone through multiple sets of rear axles and rear wheel bearings in that time and I've had to completely rebuild the front suspension including new bearings as well. And then their interior parts design leaves a lot to be desired. My drivers mirror switch cover split open. To replace it you have to replace the ENTIRE switch assembly which has the door lock switches and all the window switches as well. To "fix" the plastic cover it would cost over $300.00 and on top of that would be another $85.00 to upload software for the module...FOR A SWITCH! Yes I know the module is a CANBUSS module but so what. The individual sub-assemblies within the module should be individually replaceable. The instrument cluster has multiple points of failure but the various components are not individually replaceable either. The digital odometer went out on me and I know there is nothing wrong with the actual components but there is some connection problem because if you hit the top of the dash hard enough it starts working again. But to fix it I have to replace the ENTIRE instrument cluster for a mere $2000.00! I've had enough. The car was designed in Sweden FFS, it should be able to handle winter conditions without eating itself. And their repair design philosophy SUCKS. Maximize profit by forcing you replace full assemblies for minor failures that should be easily repairable. And now that China owns Volvo you know where their parts will be coming from. They will last even less time than the ones that came on my car. No thanks, I've had enough.
When ford took over jaguar/Volvo- no good- ford was mixing their crappy parts in with Volvo & jaguar- everything broke down. When geely (china) took them over- full design control went back to Sweden & they’ve been pretty reliable again.
@@tiffaninicole18I've already experienced Chinese parts on the car and they are crap. They may be back to designing them in Sweden but it's the implementation using Chinese parts that I refuse to support. I'm not willing to chance it being $1000 and $2000 to death.
Agree everyone should try a volvo at least once. I bought my first one, a 2015.5 V60 t6 r design brand new and still have it. Great car! And btw i would say only the six cylinder p3 are reliable, other engines have had lots of problems.
Hi,I Also have the same V60 Polestar model from 2015, and it works wonderfully. The engine is great. I see that you had a probe problem and I would like some information because I may have the same problem. I have a downpipe on the car, and I have the "check" light on. The engine runs very well, so I think it may be the lambda sensor that is to blame. Is this the probe you're talking about? And if so, when replacing it, is the light off or do you have to take it to Volvo to remove the fault? Is this probe easily replaced? THANKS (I love your videos, they are precious because videos and advice on Polestars are rare..)
Unfortunately my 2016 S60 Polestar's condenser clogged up causing my compressor to overheat trying to push freon through the system causing me a pricey bill to replace the system. 101k miles on the odometer. Still love my six cylinder S60 P*, Im the 2nd owner buying it at 93k miles with a load of service records.
I had 4 Volvos 2 S60Rs which broke constantly, one had a water pump fail only 40k miles into its life, leading to me having to do a full cylinder head swap and timing job 1 XC70 which broke its timing belt, leading me to do the same thing 1 XC60 T6 which burnt its exhaust valves leading me to have to... .replace the entire cylinder head. I'm noticing a pattern here. Volvos might be good for other people, but they have consistently ruined me financially. I will absolutely never buy one again
I listened to you! And I got a 2019 V60 T6 R-design, I can find the amount of them that are actually in the us because it would have been a made to order spec! I’m curious how it’ll be value
Hey , I own a 2023 Volvo Xc60 Plus and I am looking if there are any community groups i can join in the USA.I am interested in any sort of event ir gatherings . Thanks.

So reliability’s good? Are parts notoriously expensive like german brand’s?

I totally agree with you. I recently imported a 2008 VOLVO V70 D5 OCEAN RACE and it’s stunning 🤩

I own a 2020 V60 T6 AWD and I love it! for a 4cylinder it pulls really well…
I just picked up the '24 V60 CC as my first Volvo. Coming from a '17 Elantra, it's fantastic.

I got a 2016 v40 T5 R design last year, greatest car ive ever driven
Greetings from a V50 T5 AWD owner :)
My 2007 S80 is at 160 000+ miles now and runs great.

Why not pay to ship it back here and we can get the parts off for the other 245 and sell off anything not needed?

Good video, but get some real sunglasses
sad that volvo is now a chinese company :/
They aren’t. Do your research. They are owned by a Chinese company. Were they American when owned by Ford?
Volvo commuinity?😂
Americans eh......
Volvo enthusiasts.
