This video was recorded a few months before the time of posting it. The lawn mower has had several months of hard use on a fairly large plot of land due to our main mower having not been fixed yet. The battery has deteriorated over time, however it does provide a good excuse for taking a break. If a replacement battery was not so expensive, this would be a much more viable solution for long usage periods. I could try to make a "DIY" battery pack for another video, as it is probably just 18650 cells in a bank.

I just used this mower, it isn't self-propelled, but it's wonderful. My back was injured a couple of years ago and this is soo light weight it wasn't a big deal. Much better than the old school 80's heavy mower!

I just bought this thing on Impulse because my wife wanted an 'easy' lawn mower. It works great, my grass was taller and thicker than that and it didn't have any problems. I did hit a rock though and it popped the battery out. I guess it's for safety in case you run over a dog or something. I pushed the battery back in and I was back in business. I'm impressed so I'm probably going to buy the weed Wacker too.

I just bought one and got half way thru my lawn and it starts but dies quick read the troubleshooting says it got to hot have to wait 30 min so will be taking mine back
This is a great mower. I just used it for the 1st time today. The battery power is great for my needs.

I wish the mowers were $199 these days with a battery and charger, I ended up getting a gently used one on marketplace and needing a extra battery, mine came w a 40v 3ah battery, and bag but it’s a great machine

👉🏼When you have tall grass like you see in this video what you need to do is slightly raise the mower by pushing down on the handle and take it slow and it cuts perfect 👍 I noticed the guy near the end of this video was really rough handling this mower, I would never abuse this mower like that. Truly a jewel and you need to treat it accordingly👈🏼

Thanks 😊. Watched this before going to get mine. Put my mind at ease. Have had bad luck with gas mowers. I was gonna go with a Roybi but it didn’t have side discharge, which I need in my case.

Purchased it, very light weight compared to the gasoline mower, easy to push, very quiet, we like that one lever raises, lowers all 4 wheels at once. I would start it where the grass is clear, low, like a gasoline mower, as it seems to start slow and within seconds come up to speed. Might be a safety thing, maybe checking to see if the under deck isn’t clogged with grass or rock or something blocking blade.
We have had it over 2 years.
The soft start is to protect the motor, if something is jamming the blade, like caked grass.
Instead of jumping to high speed, high torque, it comes up slow, about 3 seconds to running speed.
It varies speed when using, in heavier loads you hear it crank up.
Don't flat line the battery, it's bad on it. Don't charge the battery when hot. Don't store the battery in a hot shed, heat is very bad on these items battery.
If nothing else buy a cheap foam cooler, store batteries in that.
It's a good lawn mower.
Having a side discharge is an advantage.

the self propelled version is on sale at Lowes for $180, down from $385 because they are discontinuing it. Bought one and love it for 180. needs charged every 40 minutes, but I am old and take an hour break anyway when mowing. it can be set to 4 inch high for tall grass and wont die.

In tall grass I remove the shoot and prop open the cover with a stick.
It allows the grass to leave the mower quicker preventing clogs and stalls.
I don't use this configuration while mowing next to the street.
I cant decide on kobalt or makita, both look very good with pros and con.

Is this mower self propelled?
When you say the battery deteriorated do you mean that the battery does not hold the charge anymore after using it for a year?
This one isn't but they sell a self propelled model.
self propelled version is on sale at Lowes for $180, down from $385 and it is rear wheel drive so works great. can mow with one hand.

Mine only shit down when I hit a rock and once the battery died. I was mowing some really tall grass and it did fine

There's both a push and self-propelled model.
