Hello Thank you for this lovely recipe. I’ve a question though, how many minutes total to cook the sotong? The reason for this is whenever I make sotong it always ends up rubbery. I cook it for around 20 min which I’ve a feeling is insufficient. The masala in this recipe always tastes fantastic but my issue is with the sotong total cooking time. Would appreciate your help. Thank you
Hi! Squid doesn't take that long to cook. It only need 8-10 minutes to fully cook. More minutes than that it might turn rubbery. Only add the squid at last minutes of the stir-fry to avoid the rubbery textures. For this dish it only took roughly 15-20 minutes to cook. An indication the squid perfectly cook is that the squid starts to pop like popcorns. This means the dish is ready, turn the heat off and serve. Hope this helps you out. Good luck!

Hi dear 😄 I'm glad you tried the recipe. This recipe only take 10-15 minutes to cook as I said In the video. If you cook the squid to long it may turn into rubbery texture same goes to prawn and seafoods generally. After adding the masala, stir fry dry until oil separates. It will only take a few minutes only since we're dry stir frying (making varuval) It's an Indication that the dish has cook. I hope next time you try out the recipe, the result will be better than before. I hope this helps you out dear 😄 Practice makes perfect, kudus for trying 👍
Tried this recipe. It doesn't turn out well.. maybe I measure the masala using TBSP instead TSP. 😅 I got it wrong. Turns out like kurma. Anyway my fault

I've just tried this recipe today. I didn't add lime jus as I've ran out of lime in the fridge...but still it was so delicious.

Hi! After adding the squid cook it for about 10 minutes. If you cook it too long it will start to explode and pops.
