Man that area looks awesome but only when the water is calm - went there last Sunday- man water was clearly going over the rocks - people were still fishing it - heart breaking seeing the line breaks after all that drag pull - awesome video as always- tight lines 🙌🏻
I got you man. Farg, spit, dang, all good for letter words. Lol. Happy to see good fish coming up. Super excited to make the long drive down tonight for a nice long weekend of fishing.
Hey Mark , How bout giving da Van Stahl a college try - More & More East Coasters Up & Dwn r using da V-50 size ( van stahl quality is legendary ) -Tuff like ur Conquest 100’s yet highly refined engineering ,,, my two pennies 🐟🕊️✨

Great video, glad to see some good fish caught in a spot like that! Been winding on 2-4x rod length in leader, been burned too many times with braid in those situations 😔
@@MDLRFishing Been soaking bait and tossing lures over 60 years. 16 rods and 8 multi-level tackleboxes along with a 6 drawer dresser LOL. Standard for salt are my Penns. Big game rod is the Penn Senator 9 on a custom stand up rod spooled with 1100 yards 100lb braid. Dig the vids, thanks.
Trilene XT 12lb green w/ 25ln Trilene Big Game leader for extreme situations. Seldom use a leader. Been running it on my bay and beach baitcasters for 40 years. 30lbs brade won't even stand up to those rocks...Trilene XT IMO is toughest and most abrasion resistant line made. 🤠 Cheers!
You still gotta love the fight in those big brutes man ,albeit disappointing to lose them it's a sweet connection to put the boots to those boys and even when they come unbuttoned you feel wow that brute fought me tuff! Great job connecting with them Mark great video. Just goes to show sometimes you get the W other times you get L still a great day none the less!!!🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣👍👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Your biggest mistake is you reel too fast. You need to wear them out, 3 weeks I ago happen to used Sedona 2000s reel, 8 lb line. Took me 25 minutes to wear them out. I have advantage to be on the dock at Anahuac , the black drum I got is gotta over 27 pounds, swear to god it took 99.9% of my spool and if that thing run another 2 seconds, I'm done. I have it on video phone. Soon I be upload it.

I’ll have to hold one before considering it. I’ve heard that they’re rather heavy.

It’s similar to an ice pick but designed specifically for IkeJime. We clip the gills to sever the main artery that supplies the blood.
those 3 fought like either black drum or grouper. However, I am glad Stella got the job done at the end. haha
I’m thinking black drum too.
