Over the years I have found skirts (even long ones) to be cooler than shorts. Added benefit is they keep the damaging. sun off.
You can find skirts made of thin material that shed wrinkles, are light weight, and perfect for dressy evenings. If you don't sweat too much, you can wear them more than once.Just bring several tops for each skirt.
Bahamas cruise is great place for your tye-dyed tops, skirts, and dresses.

You should be able to pack everything you need in a roll-a-board suitcase and a tote bag for a 3 to 4 night cruise. If you can't you over pack. Big benefit for packing light is you don't have to check luggage so less chance for it to get lost.
Unless you need medical equipment. That's a totally different situation and doesn't apply to most people.

Pretty good list of items. I'm doing a four night on Grandeur OTS Monday and will be taking similar but maybe a bit lighter. In the end after twenty years of international travel I found it is best to not obsess about packing. If you forget a thing or five it isn't a big deal. The essential packing list is: Passport, Wallet with cash and credit cards, Smartphone/computer, and Medications. Everything else can be sorted out as needed.

Perfect timing, Matt! I just booked a January cruise on Mariner to Nassau and Coco Cay to celebrate our 35th anniversary! First time cruisers!

One thing I got was a water proof camera (got a knock off one that works pretty well). Unless you are doing deep dives and such (then you must get an official one, not a knock off) it's great to just snorkel on top of the water and take pictures of animals, plants, coral, or even of yourself, family, and friends while in the water

The cruise ship can be chilly, especially at night and especially if you're sitting in a theater watching a show. They crank up the air conditioning understandably for the cast and crew but the audience is freezing. So bring something warm for the air conditioning. Also if the Bahamas is anything like Florida, sixties in Florida is chilly with the damp air.

Such a great idea. Yes bring a sweeter even thru March. We came back to Port of Galveston just this past March and it was a breezy 60° and of course, no jacket or sweater. I had to wait, in the cold for 45 min for my husband to retrieve the car. I will never go on a cruise without a light jacket again. Lesson learned

I won’t have that problem. I’m going on a cruise this December, I’m leaving from NJ and it’s very cold here in the winter so I will 100% be wearing my jacket & beanie onto the ship. No way I could forget to pack it lol

Great summary Matt. I sailed out of Galveston in January 2022, and on the last day, a sea day, I went on deck for a cigar. I wore leans and a Carhart hoodie (much heavier than the average hoodie) and was freezing(upper 40’s.
I have arthritis is both feet and wear sneakers with low cut socks on Coco Cay and one would be surprised how little sand gets in my shoes.

Another great video, I always feel like i over pack for the 4 night outta PC. But i still like to dress up for the formal night no matter how short or long the cruise is. Nice thing about this cruise is nice if you wanna just go ashore a few hours or not at all. We enjoy Coco Cay no matter what. We just choose a different part each time to keep it different.

It's worth getting these fitted at a proper dive shop. They will not leak and last 20 years or so.

    • @ModernMyths
      @ModernMyths ปีที่แล้ว

Yeah, With all these ports that have great beaches. not all of them will have places where you can rent the gear. As well as cheaper then to rent them.

Surprised you didn’t mention beach shoes that you can take into the water. Keep your feet safe from the bottom rocks and shells. Plus have holes to let the sand move Thru them.
Do you need environmental sun screen in the Bahamas??

Other cruising youtubers that are crew will mention the best restaurants, best food, etc. But they also say as crew they aren't allowed to dine as guests or use pools or hottubs.
So unless you've gone as a guest and eaten at those restaurants, how do you guys know what the food is like?

Are you going to the Caribbean side or the Pacific side? If it is to Cozumel and other ports on the Caribbean side then the list will be very similar. If you are going to ports on the Pacific side out of California (Cabo, Mazatlán, Puerto Vallarta) then you might want to pack a bit heavier winter clothing for a couple nights. The portion from California to the first port and back to California on the last day can be chilly if you are out on deck especially that time of year because of the winds off the water.

It's always a good idea to pack a light weight sweater for air conditioned areas. And night time out on deck. Breeze can be chilly.
