    Admittedly It did not come easily. But day by day, prayer by prayer I learned it. Now it comes as naturally as English. Most definitely a worthwhile time spent during a horrendous period.

    3:47 the early language of the Christian Church was Koine Greek. Latin became the liturgical standard in 380, but even churches in Southern Italy continued saying Mass in Greek until 1053 when it was banned. This resulted in the Great Schism in 1054. IMO the
    language publicaly used by Christ was Aramaic. It is very likely that the Our Father was first said in Aramaic.

    I grew up with the Latin Tridentine Mass and sadly my Catholic Church changed from the Latin to the Novus Ordo. Well, I knew something was very wrong and we stopped going to mass. Later on I was blessed to find the SSPX and go to the Latin Tridentine Mass again.

    • @springleaf1035
      @springleaf1035 27 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Perhaps the answer is the intent. Loving TLM is neither sinful nor schismatic. Attending SSPX with a prideful superiority, a withdrawal of financial support for the local bishop and a disregard for more convenient TLM alternatives may cross the line.

      No, they are not schismatic. As a matter of fact, Pope Francis even gave them full faculties. There is nothing invalid in regards to the SSPX.
      I suggest you find a chapel near you and go see for yourself. Twenty three years ago I drove 1 1/2 hr one way to check out the SSPX and I started going every week. I drove that 1 1/2 hrs one way for 9 years.
      Now I live within a couple of miles of a chapel. It transformed my life and the life of my family.

    Also the Roman Empire was tiny compared to China. In fact they cared so little for what was going on in Europe that when the Portuguese tried to trade the secrets of navigation and sail in the Age of Discoveries the eunuchs addressed them in Latin because they literally thought they were from Rome, which was already dead a thousand years at that point in everything but the Catholic Church.
    The West was an utter irrelevance to China, they had literally nothing the Chinese wanted except gold and silver and the occasional clock eventually. China on the other hand had highly desirable silk, porcelain, spices, precious paper and tea. All traded (except probably tea) with Europe as far back as Rome.
    They also had around the 1400s fleets and ships that made the Europeans seem laughable. At it's height the treasure fleet had 3500 vessels and ships nearly 400 feet long!
    By comparison the US Navy _today_ has 475 ships and Christopher Columbus's ships were 50-70 feet long.
    Though arguably European navigation was superior.
    But by 1525 the Treasure Fleet was scrapped, because the nobles realised that free trade would create such wealth in the merchant classes as to completely destroy their power. And indeed this is what happened in the West as the Age of Discoveries gave way to the Renaissance and the Industrial revolution, completely stripping the royalty and nobility of their power. Tyrants hate free trade as it makes them totally irrelevant by making the middle class richer than they are. Which is why government today so beleaguers trade, and why tyranny is always more impoverished than freedom.

    Hi, italian Catholic here,I have to disagree with you on this one, for a few simple reasons:
    The pagan temples were not taken by the Christians and made for Jesus, their structure was not usable for christian cerimonies,(which were held inside of the Building while the pagan ones were outside and only the few in charge of the temple could go inside) they used Roman Basiliche, which were courthouses and market squares.
    The First language in which the gospels were translate (other than ancient aramaic) was Greek, which functioned as a common language in Europe (like modern English)
    The reason that us Catholics don't use latin Is because in the early middle ages It became a language only known by the few rich educated members of the church, while the people were oblivious of tge bible and gospels'meaning.
    Eventually the Church allowed for cerimonies in local language, I personally support tge use of latin since it reminds of the origin of the church and exercises colture

    Best explanation I've ever listened to. I've from time to time wondered about that.
    So in a way....when the devils host can't understand Latin it provides a way to begin the separation of Host from affliction?
    Still that's a lot of information I'm certain I would be better off not knowing. Epluribus Unim baby!! Peace out!❤

    The devil probably prefers people pray in a language they don’t speak or understand. That way people are just “babbling like the pagans.”
    There is literally no reason for demons to hate modern people speaking latin over Greek or Hebrew or Chinese.
    This is turning prayer into magical spells using the best words in a special language.

    The narrator has an interesting and insightful perspective that makes the case for Latin in a way seldom articulated.
    He also makes it clear why/how the Catholic Church appropriated to itself territories and property in foreign lands - an issue over which it has been browbeaten to make apologies and offer recompense.
    In the new earth and new heaven it will be clear to all why the Catholic Church was right all along!

    Our Father in latin (Pater Noster):
    Pater noster, qui es in caelis:
    sanctificetur nomen tuum; adveniat regnum tuum;
    fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra.
    Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie,
    et dimitte nobis debita nostra,
    sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris;
    et ne nos inducas in tentationem;
    sed libera nos a malo. Amen.
    Hail Mary in latin (Ave Maria):
    Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum:
    benedicta tu in mulieribus et benedictus fructus ventris tui Iesu.
    Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis
    peccatoribus, nunc et in hora mortis nostrae.
    Amen.
    Obs: "ae" in latin is pronounced as "ay" in say

    I’ve experience multicultural catholic parishes where 3 or 4 different languages are being used at the same Mass. No one is happy. It’s like the tower of babel all over again.! Why not use Latin for the prayers and common responses? Before the liturgical changes Catholics could attend Mass anywhere in the world and fully participate in the common responses in Latin. Believe it or not, Latin still is the official liturgical language of the Catholic Church, why just not use it?

    I attended Traditional LATIN Mass for several years at a tiny SSPX chapel, and I much prefer it to the Novus Ordo Mass, but I now attend the NOM because in order to attend the tiny SSPX chapel it would mean about one hour of travel, and in that tiny chapel you are not there “anonymously”, that is, everybody sees everything that everyone does, or doesn’t do. I will however say that if there was the opportunity to attend the TLM in my neighbourhood, then I would most definitely attend it in preference to the novus ordo mass. I hope and pray that a future Pope will reinvigorate the TLM, instead of suppressing it the way Pope Francis has done by issuing Summorum Pontifcum..

    Latin is awesome, the services at the Churches I attend are partly in Latin, often also Gregorian chants, it gives that extra weight to the service, aaand Catholics from other countries can easily join in. Imagine if Latin became the universal language of the church again, one could easily go from one Catholic church to the next in each and every country. That is probably also the reason why Satan attacked the Latin mass in the first place.

Romans were ones who even crucified Him, why would God say make it only in LATIN, that might be another proof to argument against Catholics" and now this shows up, very funny.
