As a high school yute, Aries was my soul sound -- seeing that I too am an April/Aries west Kingston yute. Then Cancer moved on to Stone Love and I followed him and was immediately transfixed: even though at the time Aries was a much bigger sound than Stone Love (and Inner City) but that Wee Pow-Rory mic combination was something else. Big up Cancer & Muscle for letting I man relive those memories

Cancer give thanks for this interview to Muscle, it’s great to hear about sound business from your perspective, I’m based in the U.K. & I remember the cassettes touching road & they spread like wildfire back in the day, no internet neither so the only visual images I got came from vhs tapes, I purchased all the Stonelove albums on vinyl, they have photos on them with the names of the selectors so from then I could identify who was who, those albums now hold a greater importance to me because finally I see & hear a snippet from Cancer, it was a pleasure to see him in this interview & more importantly how humble this man is, selectors nowadays can learn a lot from this man, once again give thanks Cancer & Muscle, watching this has truly brightened up my day.

#GoGettersNetwork Jah know Muscle! I appreciate this interview, I use to listen my Stone-,Love cassette's with RORY, Wee-Pow, & Cancer that's the blueprint to Juggling Sounds.. I was in my room in Brooklyn, listening to Stone-Love.. This man Cancer inspired me to join as sound Called "On-Track" played in Brooklyn & made a name for ourselves.. It was 5+ breadrens that started that sound about 1988, by 1991 I built my owby sound with a partner called "Robotech" just like Cancer IAM a GEMINI & never really left them I just added on Robotech... To the point when I went Upstate New York and carry the sound "Robotech" I got the opportunity to play with Stone-Love, Instead I allowed my Foundation Sound "On-Track" to play with Stone-Love! Muscle thanks a Million Boss! And 21 Gun Salute to Cancer! Also all the Stone-Love anthem's are built during Cancers run 1985-1998.. I also appreciate you asking him the Question about Rory/Wee-Pow situation! 💯% Journalist Move!

The stadium clash was in 1989. The judges gave it to Inner City. Stone love contested the decision and it created a rift between both sound . Stone love didn't play with inner city for 4 years because big that clash. They first played in 1993 at house of Leo. Which was one of the biggest dance in history at the venue.

    • @deangeloevans741

Inner City don’t music like stonelove. Inner City sound system simple played heavier clearer cleaner in that competition than every other sound that’s why their won the cup.

Great interview and great journey with these legendary selectors. But it seems like a common theme that these selectors used the Stone Love legacy to do their own thing eventually. Not mad at them, it is what it is but it also says a lot about the Stone Love legacy and why they’ll always be around

I enjoy interviews with veteran soundman, but they often give misleading or false information. No disrespect to Cancer, but Stone Love was not the first sound to monetize a sound system. It eventually became the highest demanding sound in the world, but I don't think it deserves that credit he's giving it.
