As a Logic user, GarageBand is only good for starting an idea any and everywhere (like sitting on the toilet or just sitting somewhere stuck in traffic) then just importing the basic idea into Logic. Playing the actual instruments on the iPad or iPhone screen is actually great too.

    • @danielhenderson3247

Logic is the only reason GB is my primary DAW. But I found you can do your melodic stuff in GB and drum sequences in BM3, combine them in GB and bounce it to logic to finish. That's my work flow right now.

I.e. none, 2X 4X 8X 16X or 32X .. any one of those can sound better depending on the mix. Also, mix and export at whatever sample rate etc that your platform you’re uploading to is optimized at. For soundcloud(which always sounds worse) it’s 16 sample rate and always normalize.

I have to check BM3 out because it seems to get a lot of love. For me the top 3 Android apps I dabble with are:
    Bandlab
    Koala Sampler
    n-Track Studio
Cubasis 3 seems really good but I don't feel like spending $30 on it. Around 8-10 years ago I was using a good one called Pocketband but they shut down a few years ago. I made my first album worth of music entirely on PB before eventually moving on to Garageband.

Totally agree with your take on GarageBand. It definitely could be better. I only recently figured the (sections) part out which was very confusing at first. Overall It’s much different workflow/UI vs desktop version so I didn’t get into it for several months. Nano Studio could be great as well and I agree the sounds are pretty darn good and it has limitations as you mentioned. Been rocking with BeatMaker3 since day 1 but I ran into too many crashes in the several months. Switch to Cubasis for a bit and that too was crashing. So I stop using my iPad Pro (2018 version) out of frustration and try to go back to creating on a barely capable 2013 MBPRO. (You see my where my frustration is heading…😫😫😫). As a result, I’m working on upgrading to possibly a 14/16 inch MBP as I feel I can create more fluidly on my laptop. I absolutely love the portability and capability of what the iPad Pro can off for music production as I do believe it is the future as APPLE continue to transitions with the OS platforms for cross capability. Also I hope to see more future videos showcasing your workflow around these 5 iOS DAW apps. And yes, I have watched every single one of your BM3 videos since day 1 (way before I owned an iPad) and now I use them references.

What do u mean u can't import audio to nano 2? I'm asking because I'm considering getting it and it's one of the only ios daws I've found that allows for tempo changes in the middle of a track

You can import audio through its sampler, but no direct input on timeline/playlist

@BoloDaProducer when you said beatmaker doesn't export sound well are you saying if I want to export the audio live to another app, or in general like if I'm trying to save a finished track to my device. I'm asking because I mostly live/travel out of my backpack and I want to be able to create high quality music with what I have available which is mostly just my I pad. I'm working on getting a mini pc that I can run desktop programs on but If I can learn how to produce high quality content on my iPad b4 moving over to a desktop that would b ideal

It’s not bad…. It’s a lil thin on the low end. But I bounce it directly from the program and it sounds great. Doesn’t sound as good as FL studio, or cubasis, but it is decent. It still personally my favorite iOS app

How do you feel about Cubasis 3? I actually use that as my main DAW in my iPad along with GarageBand, PS I don’t know why a lot of people sleep on garage band, it’s a decent quality DAW with a ton of sounds and it’s free.

Garage Band isn't actually bad.. it's a shame that the user interface is so wonky looking cuz it really is a good program with some great sounds and tools. I wish Apple would release a IOS verdion of Logic soon

@BOLODAPRODUCER - Does BM3 have an "explode" track feature like Akai? I.E. build a pattern with different pad sounds on one track and then explode them to others without recording each track individually.

Great Video, which IOS app would you recommend for a beginning music beat make, I have played a little with LMMS on the desktop but I feel like I need more of an introductory level app. Thx for any advice...... I guess I'll just keep watching videos.

What’s happenin Bolo much love. Quick question bruh do you think Intua will ever upgrade the sound engine on bm3? I’m so glad you made this video bruh I had been workin in bm3 since 2021 and just thought my mixing was garbage. Watched this vid and it let me know I ain’t crazy and the sound engine needs help. Grabbed a mpc one the other week and the difference is crazy. It just take hardly no work to make the beat sound crisp. I find the MPC workflow a lil extra but getting faster with it everyday. Bm3 almost seem like abandon ware at this point but I’ll shell out another $30-50 for bm4 in a heartbeat

I didn't read the comments yet so answer this question: Did you complete the "iMPC University" 100% ? The reason I ask is that your review of iMPC Pro 2 is lacking the fundamental elements of the software's best features. Challenge: Complete the iMPC University 100% and do another review.

Quick question… BM3 is number one on your list, yet you say that the audio engine is not up to par.
If someone relies only on iPad to start making beats and potentially make money making beats from an iPad. What DAW app would you use to make this a reality?

    • @BoloDaProducer
      @BoloDaProducer  ปีที่แล้ว

BM3 the audio engine isn’t horrible, just not great. The Producer Madlib used BM3 on all the tracks on his collab album with Freddie Gibbs. Sounded great. Just just gotta do a lil work to get it sounding the way you want.
