  • On June 21, 2024, it was my 20th birthday and I decided to celebrate by flying my drone around Stromboli, the most active volcano in Europe. I started with some wide-angle island scenery before going up to the craters for some eruptions. I’ve been interested in this volcano for the better part of a decade, so to be there for myself and to capture these dramatic shots was a dream come true.

There are no drone restrictions specific to Stromboli volcano. All of these shots were captured safely and in accordance with Italian law.

Fantastic footage. If I was a major news organization I would license this video for a substantial sum of money.

The ban on drone overflights, throughout the entire territory of the Aeolian Islands. Best regards! 🙂

We were watching this the day before you and I may have even heard you chatting to your friends about flying your drone as you were down near the quayside on Friday morning. Great footage. Amazing to see it so close up. Brilliant camera work.

Stromboli erupts multiple times per hour so probably sometime between when you wrote that comment and when I replied!

@@keatonterry I meant previously. Before the start of this recent eruption. Thx!

@@daphnekivinen9482 Stromboli has been in a more or less constant state of eruption for thousands of years. It’s not like Etna where it starts and stops every few months.

@@keatonterry Thank you! I got my answer from the internet. I should have done that in the first place.
