Impact Drake really deserves its name. The rubber is definitely a double edge sword, but the metal is doing all the heavy hitting. I had brought it up with my PI, and the way the rubber is sloped on the blade makes the metal contact more effective, since if the rubber makes contact first, the small moment of friction of that contact is essentially pulling the blade of the other bey towards Drake’s metal contact quicker and the force of Drakes metal contact to hit really hard. Like grabbing someone’s shirt but they immediately head-butt you in retaliation.
That would be amazingly funny. Khrome already cracked Buster, after all. With the new evolutions being leaked (no info other than they exist), I could see Khrome going full monke and deciding to just go nuts for a while. Or he'll just go back to simping for X. Solid 50/50 chance
I know zankye’s whole argument on rubber not being ideal for attack, but with my own testing impact drake’s impact wouldn’t be as impactful if the rubber were to be replaced by hard plastic or metal.
"If the rubber were to be replaced by hard plastic or metal." So you have an Impact Drake with plastic replacing the rubber and an Impact Drake that has ONLY metal replacing those sections? Rubber is a flexible material that dissipates the force it applies in contact, you can even go to Burst era where you have Super M and Super R an the Metal Variant hits harder than the rubber variant. You can look at something like Ultimate Valkyrie where when the rubber is worn on the plastic area the it performs better.
@@zankye I don’t doubt that metal would hit harder than rubber, but as for the friction that rubber offers it makes it easier to burst beys. If the ultimate valkyrie situation is true, then that means plastic probably does hit harder than rubber, but due to the friction rubber causes this allows for more stoppage than usual. My theory is that rubber makes the opposing bey significantly slower (when attacking) rather than hitting it harder. (which also has the same effect, but without the friction factor) This is apparent in how impact drake is one of the only good attack blades without it’s major contact points being metal, but instead rubber.
First off thank you and respect standing on the ground and taking the time so to write! So we are both on agreement of metal that is a harder surface hitting harder than rubber. Now on Impact on the session I did and even seeing others cover most of the damage and scuff is primarily on the metal part right above the rubber those are a lot of the big hits. It is also true however that while I don't think the rubber is literally boosting the attack power when making contact it is on a slope that allows the blade to connect to the metal so in that regard the rubber is doing something. So looking at the Impact since rubber is soft and taking in the attack a lot of that force is is being pushed back onto itself because rubber is going to grip onto something. Example in the Phoenix session very explosive rounds but a lot of times it got blown back or even on the side of the stadium, now this is happening because all that energy is not being pushed back at the opponent it is kinda of losing to itself. Now let me play devil's advocate is there a way the rubber could be useful for something? An argument can be made that the rubber could grip the opponent to hold them long enough for the metal to quickly connect which inturn would mean the rubber is doing something, not repelling sure but still contributing. For the most part what happens is since it is taking in all that energy thrown on it ends up if you are at least an attack combo wasting energy in the long run because the energy is wasted taken in the attack. Which once again regardless thank you for your time!
@@zankyeexactly my thoughts. I think it works as intended against much lighter combos, but it works against itself when facing combos in the same weight class.
The metal contact point above the rubber definitely does big damage, I still however believe in impact’s friction power that its rubber provides. In my testing (and yours) impact has on occasion killed its own stamina by hitting the stadium, one would naturally assume the same to happen when hitting other beyblades, but since it’s rubber on metal & not rubber on plastic, it has more drive to create and overpower opposing beyblades. To be honest I see your point of view, but I can’t overlook or deny the fact that the rubber on impact has both the properties of bungee & gum, meaning it can grip onto metal differently than it does plastic. Maybe an awakened impact v a regular impact’s performance could display whether or not the addition of rubber has any true benefit in attack.
TT was crazy for this one, who’s idea was it to give a good attack type 9-60 and a better version of rush as the stock combo? This really is the forbidden bey cause every part of this boutta be on the tournament banlist
They didn't put the rubber on to enhance it They put it on so it doesn't become a blade breaker for real or turn into a little bey grenade with metal pieces.
It's certainly a hard blade to use. It's such a double edge sword. I am interested to see what it does once "awakened" and the rubber is worn down/chipped away. I plan on testing a lot with mine to get it to that point. For now it's more of a one shotter than anything so I've been using it on 1-60F/LF
Hey zankye if you ever do a custom combo challenge ive found out that hells hammer on 7-60 low flat is really effective of getting beys into the pocket
I think the rubber could be useful if the combo was a high stamina combo. Kinda like the mfb, Firefuse Darkhelm, whose fusion wheel was part metal and part rubber to shield and buffer opposing attacks. If it were a left spin bey, then the rubber would be very ideal. Another thing I hope Beyblade X brings is a metal rush bit and metal ball or metal orb bit. That way they can make up for the metal needle catastrophe and have playable metal bits that won't harm the arena.
My Impact Drake should be here in about 30-36 hours!!! I am so excited yo. BROKE WIZARD ROD JEEEEEEZZZZZ i get that it was an older, heavily used bey, but id been telling people that this was gonna happen with Impact Drake 😂😂😅
The only way you would have some good success and actually use the rubber the right way and not kill yourself is on height. Try 9-80 F and if you get some stall like tilts it actually becomes way more effective tbh
I'm just curious as to what the best NON-stock combo Impact Drake is. I wanted to try 7-60 Hexa for a balance build, but my 7-60 is super loose, even with high burst resistance bits
I’ll say it once and I’ll say it again Impact Drake is technically the true Thanos of beyblade (not that shitty hasbro one) and there Impact truly is… inevitable (SNAP)
This is technically testing channel content so MDK helps out with the long sessions that I split across multiple videos, anything else my mom helps out!
RIP Wizard Rod April 4th 2024-Jan 4th 2025
Um it 2025 also se if you can fully break it
Wait…2024?!
Rod is de aging
YEAH!! REST IN PISS WIZARD!!
We left Wizard Rod in 2024 💔
"the rubber doesn't do anything" *10 seconds later* "you killed him"
The metal makes contact but ok
@@zankyeexactly, the shape, weight and contact are doing the attack. Rubber is used as a pre hit. Unsure why the fans don’t get this

Impact Drake does what Dranbuster don't...destroying Wizardrod.
Lol Dran Buster is pretty much the only other attack bey that can wreck Rod.
Impact Drake is basically just another Buster.
TRUEEEE
OH MY GOSH, is this foreshadowing for Beyblade X Anime

Rest in peace Wizard rod
And Multi's depression grows with no end
I'm sure Bird would cheer her up.
Maybe she also introduces CX?

lol
gotta balance it out

Rest and peace the forbidden wizard rod 😂😂😂😂
TRUE
this Rod Hexa combo screams 🇯🇴🇯🇴🇯🇴JORDAN🇯🇴🇯🇴🇯🇴 to me
If it make you feel any better, Impact Drake shattered my Silver Wolf after nearly 3 weeks of having it.
I just got my impact drake and he cracked my green wizard rod on the third battle… It cracked in the same place as yours. Rest in peace buddy.
They didn't put the rubber on to enhance it
They put it on so it doesn't become a blade breaker for real or turn into a little bey grenade with metal pieces.
find a way to hold back the power the bey has
Defense is so cooked bro 😭 Imagine if it had no rubber, it would have INSANE contact points and recoil dudeeeeee
RIP WizardRod. We won’t miss ya

Nice to see the competitive build matchups. Thanks Zankye.
thank u boss

Yo zankye is impact drake's stock combo good enough to use in tournaments?
this is the entire premise of the video

i feel like he will unironically get better the more worn he becomes, due to the metal getting exposed more, while the rubber becomes less.
potentially the thing is the rubber does help to do upper since it leads through a slope
My Impact Drake BROKE my 2-70 rachet from samurai saber😭😭😭😭😭
RIP
My knife shinobi took a big chunk of metal out of soar Phoenix 😂😢
dang
Omg funny idea "battling with my broken wizard rod till it's destroyed" and just battle it against different combos
I would but I am too afraid to do so
Seems like an alright attacker, even if the rubber is a bit of a nerf, definitely a nice-looking bey with some attack usage
100%
Do impact drake with a custom metal sharp. I I would love to see that one!
Hey zankye if you ever do a custom combo challenge ive found out that hells hammer on 7-60 low flat is really effective of getting beys into the pocket
Just comment on the omega shiroboshi one anytime I do a combo challenge I am just picking comments from there

That makes sense in the sense it be for stamina or defense since it be absorbing the impact making opponents waste their energy
7:45 “WHAT THE FU-“
are you gonna do the awakened version of it?
you're going to see a very big video soon with that answer
@@zankye looking forward to that, I believe the rubber is no good most of the time. I hate the counter recoil so much

TRUE

just comp combo? not sure yet
prob something like with 1-60 instead of 9-60 for even more crazy attacks
the rubber doesnt really do much in terms of power but it defenitely gives drake a bit of an edge in attack vs attack
Feels more like the force of trying to repel works against it since it’ll get thrown back on itself and lose steam
Lmao the venom edit
cheers
Is there any way you could maybe rip the rubber off and compare the performance between one with and one without rubber
what is the song playing when the rod broke?

In the anime impact drake will destroy wizard rod ?
if it does you know where I was
hmm you should "awaken" Impact Drake to its full potential
eventually it gets worn I can see

its way better than L drago destroy lmao
I guess

Zanky on your testing video for impact. You should definitely try on different heights and on defense or stamina bits. It's weird how it behaves.
still process of testing I did 60 height with lr and point plan to try 7-60BS and see maybe like 7-70 something
@zankye I did try 3-85 and it gave me some really interesting results
Oh my God! He killed Wizard Rod! 😱
