The landscape during the bus ride reminds me so much of Gansu province in NW China - the mountain/desert outlook, the way the villages sit, and even right down to the forts on top of the peaks which China has too. That area of China is my favourite in the country, and the more I see of countries like Oman and Jordan in your clips the more I'm getting sold on them too. Great to be along for the ride with you.
hi gabriel i'm living in oman and quite familiar of nizwa..if you really want to taste an authentic omani food, you can try bin ateeq restaurant and taste their shuwa (basically the national dish of oman).. it is only located in nizwa souq.. you can ask any locals and for sure they will help you..
Hey Gabriel, I've spent the past 2 days checking out a lot of your vids. Of all your destinations in the Middle East, Oman, and specifically Muscat, look like a really nice destination. Your video captures of Oman are really terrific. Thumbs up.
Try asking Omanis for authentic omani restaurants. I know there are few in Nizwa. Due to our historic trade relations with India, you'll notice a bit of influence in our cuisines, such as biryani for example. Remember to try the Omani Shuwa my friend :-)
I'm from OMAN I live near the border between oman and UAE .. from shinas . I prefer shopping in UAE more than oman because the price is cheaper . Most of omani people prefer shopping in UAE .
A blessed good day sir Gabriel Wowww thank u so much for nice walk around video in beautiful city Of Nizwa Oman keep.safe sir Gabriel Godbless u from.solid viewer fan from.the Philippines sir vhin ,🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭👏👏👏👍🙏🙏🙂🙂🙏👍👍
Wow! Very cool video! Awesome scenery and ultimate smoothie, lol. I’ve loved watching Rosie Gabrielle’s Oman videos. It’s cool to see your perspective and experience. The people seem very friendly, as Rosie has experienced, too. Can’t wait to see more. What an interesting place! 👍🏼✌🏼
This City looks like Fujjairah, UAE, which is close to Sohar City, Oman. But looks very identical specially isolated houses in those mountains. Love your videos.
Funny that foreigners say they can't speak English but still manage to speak some but if an American can say a few phrases in another language we think we are fluent in that language. The food and smoothie looked good. Anywayz, another nice video seeing foreign places I'll never see otherwise.
Hey Gabe try maps.me app it's perfect for occasions when you have no cell service and want to navigate your way around a country, no need for WiFi/mobile data once you download a location to your phone too, I used it in Cuba and it helped alot.
Great video if you like to try some real authentic Arabic cuisine make your way to Lebanon and Jordan. the reason why you can't find Arabic restaurants in the gulf because the locals don't really work in stores and restaurants that's why there is a large Indian community in the food business
Since I can’t sleep I am up watching videos. Execellent video Gabe and that sun🌞 wow looks huge also noticed that there’s not much any women or a kids roaming around. Great video 👍🏻
Hey Gab! ... Try 'Bin Atteq' Restaurant at Muscat. I know it's authentic Omani for sure! :) ... If I recollect correctly, they've branches all over Muscat (or atleast 2 of them) .... love ur vids btw :) .....looking forward to more :)
Arabs traditionally eat at home, so we rarely see Arabic Restaurant. It's hard to find Arabic Restaurant in Dubai too. Since middle east is full of Indian workers and mostly they live without family, so they eat out, that is why you fsee Indian/Pakistani restaurant everywhere.
Welcome to Oman. Regarding where to find authentic Omani restaurants, you can download an app called Foursquare, which is like Yelp and very popular in the Middle East.
you said "l'm just keep exploring" but if you can't find what you want (here, omani restaurant) why don't you just ask Omani? They are very friendly nice volk - they would even invite you to their home for real omani food. That's oman's hospitality😎😊☀️
Gabriel is traveling ( traveled a lot in India too ) and eating so much Indian food , he is on the verge of becoming full Indian soon 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Gabe i know it‘s a crazy suggestion. BUT. Why don‘t you try and talk to locals that you see on the street and ask if it‘s possible you get invited to dinner with them? I bet it would be an awesome experience in such a undiscovered country!
I would find it awkward if I were in my home town and a foreign stranger approached me wanting to have dinner with me. I’m sure that people there would feel the same way.
MrFalcon2001 hello sorry but in oman you can find a highly educated people most of them studied a broad so defently they can understand you plus we are a very welcoming people other can get influenced by our kindness...thanks.... Omani Girl...
I told you, Omanis love home cooked food that's why you will hardly find any Authentic Omani restaurant, there was one in Muscat and you might find only one or two here but you must go searching around and asking the local Arabic people.
insight001 I was going to comment the same thing. I’ve noticed that in the last few videos. For some reason, the sun looks much bigger in this part of the world.
Bro, next time if you come to Oman, ask anyone in the street and he will do the job for you. You will be invited to a local house. People will be happy to invite you to their homes and they will feed you the best Arabian food ever.
How do the people here feel about an American in their country and how are you treated? Are you ever concerned about your safety? Thanks again for another great video.
Nice video man. Hey Gabriel I have a question. It's difficult to communicate in a non-English speaking country. Have you ever get lost and ended up in the wrong place ( because language barrier). Have you ordered food and it's not what you ordered/expected. Greetings from Texas.
Claudio Vasquez dear there is no difficulty in communicating with us if he asked for tour guide he can get plenty of omani nationalities and they can speak different languages like English ,French, Germany, hindi and pakistani as well you have wrong information about omani people.. just google tourist places in Oman you will know more... omani girl...
I recommend to not spend lots of times in muscat because it's really expensive city . Try to explore other part of oman and try to avoid muscat as much as possible..
I don't mention the prices in every video because I think it would get annoying and get in the way to always talk about the prices. So that's why I didn't mention them. But I think the first taxi ride was two rials (about $5), the second one into Nizwa was just .5 rials because it was a shared taxi, and then the one back was 2.5 rials because it wasn't shared. Now I forget how much dinner was but maybe four rials ($10) for the food and the smoothie.
Gabriel Traveler Oh ok. I think that showing the prices could be a excelent idea for this kind of non-usual travel destinations. They could be very useful. Its your channel tho. Cheers from Argentina.
I make separate videos showing the prices in each country I visit, see this playlist: th-cam.com/video/5woDifD1q5I/w-d-xo.html Cheers and hola, whenever I go back to South America I want to explore Argentina.
Gabriel Traveler Well, i know and i've seen them, but i think it's a nice idea to complement them with each video. I hope you come here soon, its quite expensive compared to India tho, but completely worth.
Brandon Cata Afternoons are mostly like that in muscat since everyones working and shops are closed since its very hot. Sohar has a very low population density.
polifatts because its mostly hot throughout the year shops remain closed in the afternoon and that trend continues due to which most people are used to driving around rather than walking
That's an excellent idea. I just need to figure out how to do it. It's google offline maps? I've only had my smartphone for a year and still figuring out what I can do with it.
Forgive my lack of knowledge: About those white robes those four men coming out of the mosque were wearing, do men always wear them to get into mosques? Or are they traditional male Oman clothes ?
Hard to say, just depends on how much time you have and how much of the country you want to see. There's a lot more to see than where I went in my two weeks there, which was Sohar, Muscat and Nizwa. You could spend weeks or longer there if you wanted to get further into the desert, see Salalah and other places. But if you have limited time then make it a week and go to Muscat and Nizwa. There's a lot of interesting stuff to see around Nizwa.
The thing I like about your channel is you go to places I don't want to visit so I can see them but you also go to places I want to visit.
Michael Skinner Yea same here, i wouldnt come to these places, but glad Gabe doesnt mind lol
I would like to thank Gabriel for such a beautiful expression about my country
The mosque is so beautiful..
I realise that the building are in the same color scheme, Hope your enjoying the food there, it looks so yummy..
Haslina Mustani Islamic architecture has an elegance to it. I also think that their script is beautiful although I can’t actually read it.
Barb yes it is, I’m a muslim but I still have not mastered Arabic wordings..
I loved walking around Middle Eastern cities at night, some of my favorite walks ever. Thanks for doing so and filming for the rest of us.
hi gabriel i'm living in oman and quite familiar of nizwa..if you really want to taste an authentic omani food, you can try bin ateeq restaurant and taste their shuwa (basically the national dish of oman).. it is only located in nizwa souq.. you can ask any locals and for sure they will help you..
I actually went to Bin Ateeq two days ago, it will be in the next video.
Hey Gabriel, I've spent the past 2 days checking out a lot of your vids. Of all your destinations in the Middle East, Oman, and specifically Muscat, look like a really nice destination. Your video captures of Oman are really terrific. Thumbs up.
Great, glad to hear it, thanks for watching.
And as a destination suggestion, a visit to Iran would be pretty cool imo.
Yeah for sure, Iran sounds amazing.
Hi Gabriel how are you? Im your number 1 fan ive watched every one of your videos I binge watch them lol..keep them coming and be safe
Another great one bro :D
Didn't think you could surpass your India videos but I'm enjoying these just as much!
Great work Gabriel. Really digging the new mini time-lapses.
Beautiful mountains! Whoa
Just bought your book and love watching your videos! Keep up the good work!
Excellent, thanks a lot Steve, appreciate it.
Try asking Omanis for authentic omani restaurants. I know there are few in Nizwa. Due to our historic trade relations with India, you'll notice a bit of influence in our cuisines, such as biryani for example. Remember to try the Omani Shuwa my friend :-)
4:30...that sun is amazing...
Very nice choice of music, video quality is awesome and your Oman footage is fascinating to watch. Be safe and careful. Cheers
LOL’ed when the “not” popped up
Booked to go to Oman soon. I will definitely be checking out Nizwa!
I'm from OMAN I live near the border between oman and UAE .. from shinas . I prefer shopping in UAE more than oman because the price is cheaper . Most of omani people prefer shopping in UAE .
o man..he went to oman.
Michael Sun no pun intended ofc .
There are quite interesting hot springs in oman . Wadi Shap is really great place to visit . You can find lots of great videos about this place
Having just returned from Oman you really need to hire a car to see the best of it. Extremely difficult otherwise. Amazingly scenic country.
I met up with a guy who had a rental car and we went exploring in the area around Nizwa, amazing. Working on that video now.
My goodness...great video..the desert and rugged land great to see this....you are also brave..Thanks...so nice to see
-58 C or -72 F in Oymyakon Russia right now. Makes Alaska seem tropical.
Rocco. Sounds great!
This City looks like Fujjairah, UAE, which is close to Sohar City, Oman. But looks very identical specially isolated houses in those mountains. Love your videos.
Great video as always
Any chance of you looking inside some of the jewellery, silver and antique shops and seeing some prices. Love the vlogs
Funny that foreigners say they can't speak English but still manage to speak some but if an American can say a few phrases in another language we think we are fluent in that language. The food and smoothie looked good. Anywayz, another nice video seeing foreign places I'll never see otherwise.
swampzoid Very true.
swampzoid matter of confidence ,unfortunately🙂

yes I am :)
Great sounds.
Since I can’t sleep I am up watching videos. Execellent video Gabe and that sun🌞 wow looks huge also noticed that there’s not much any women or a kids roaming around. Great video 👍🏻
It's pretty hard to find authentic local food because locals often cook their own food at home.
Hey Gab! ... Try 'Bin Atteq' Restaurant at Muscat. I know it's authentic Omani for sure! :) ... If I recollect correctly, they've branches all over Muscat (or atleast 2 of them) .... love ur vids btw :) .....looking forward to more :)

I lived in Oman 1981
I suggest you go check out MARK WEINS' channel, I think he made a video about authentic omani food/restaurant in Muscat.
Welcome to Oman. Regarding where to find authentic Omani restaurants, you can download an app called Foursquare, which is like Yelp and very popular in the Middle East.
Wow nice place
lots of Indian restaurants for Indian workers
Omanis like to eat Mishkaki on the beach
it's like street grilled food
you must try it in Oman!
Nice video ....talk with locals they will be your friend and they will help you and offer omani foods and desserts for you
Oman really looks like Nevada/Utah
Oman looks beautiful and stunning
Nice video 👍👍
Thanks for sharing and be safe out there.

Hey Gabriel, I am one of your followers and live in Oman. Let me know if we can meet and I can take you to some interesting places here...
Gabriel is traveling ( traveled a lot in India too ) and eating so much Indian food , he is on the verge of becoming full Indian soon 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

jazhielcit2 lol
Shit ??? 😂 you mean Shirt
They really sell everything these days don't they?
Lol
Hey thanks man, appreciate it.
are you visiting salalah? it seems pretty green and nice tourist place.
Gabe i know it‘s a crazy suggestion. BUT. Why don‘t you try and talk to locals that you see on the street and ask if it‘s possible you get invited to dinner with them? I bet it would be an awesome experience in such a undiscovered country!
I'd appreciate this interviewing with the locals!
I have read in several sites that, that is the best way to try real authentic food. Because you will not find the real stuff in a restaurant.

You are awesome always
That place looks great so did the biryani lol
Nice. Palms!
Cool. :)
4:30 is it just me or does the sun look oddly bigger than usual? 🤔
insight001 I was going to comment the same thing. I’ve noticed that in the last few videos. For some reason, the sun looks much bigger in this part of the world.
cool dude, awesome wow
Bro, next time if you come to Oman, ask anyone in the street and he will do the job for you. You will be invited to a local house. People will be happy to invite you to their homes and they will feed you the best Arabian food ever.
Gabriel I have followed you for years. got your books where can I get your travel shirt from. I live in Australia.
Thanks Debbie. Here's a link to where you can order my shirts: www.bonfire.com/gabriel-traveler/
Ask any taxi driver or a local Omani for Bin atiq resturant, one of few Omani restaurants. Not the best but this is what you will get.
Yes I found Bin Ateeq, it will be in an upcoming video.
I hope you go to Egypt and/or Jordan. Great videos!
People are depressed in Oman. They need more entertainments like any other city. Hope they work harder to make it easy for tourist to visit Oman.
NS Farm dear am omani and I never fell the same at all so strange comment?????????
How do the people here feel about an American in their country and how are you treated?
Are you ever concerned about your safety? Thanks again for another great video.
wandering spirit dear in oman you can not find such violent people we are peaceful creatures and our country known as westran Switzerland..
nice vedio 👌 will you go by bus to Jordan?
Pankaj! Pankaj! Pankaj! It's spelled V-I-D-E-O. Remember I before E.
Apu Simpson sorry, it auto corrected, in this case Incorrected
No need to apologize. Just helping you out is all. At least your second language is better than mine.
Nope, booked a flight. You couldn't take a bus from here to Jordan, Saudi Arabia is in the way.

Come to Lebanon man , ill hook you up when you need anything
Ry Cooder-ish soundtrack. Love it. Which U.S. state would you say Oman looks most like?
Definitely Nevada.
Can you make a cool hat design? A low key chill hat
R those mountains u passed by Hajjar mountains...why didnt u hike those?
How about asking your hotel for recommendations?
Nice City 👌😍❤
thansk sister
Gabriel, you didn't give any price. How much was both taxi rides? And the food? Thanks.

Oman seems so desolate, especially with almost nobody walking around in Sohar or Muscat
Brandon Cata Afternoons are mostly like that in muscat since everyones working and shops are closed since its very hot. Sohar has a very low population density.
What do you expect from a big country with less than 3 milions of people
Sarthak Shastri It is not hot in Muscat right now. It is winter. The temperature is only in the 70s.
polifatts because its mostly hot throughout the year shops remain closed in the afternoon and that trend continues due to which most people are used to driving around rather than walking
Sarthak Shastri
It's winter here lol
which camera did you use for the night footage. must be very low light friendly
This was all filmed with my GoPro 6.
why don't you download the google map for the whole oman ? its a small country , can fit in few MBs.
Yeah those are traditional Omani clothes that most of the men wear.
Straight Outta Nizwa!!!
You can take the traveler out of India but you can't take the India out of the Traveler or so it seems.
Not knocking just an amusing observation.
Hello Gabriel.
how did you get from muscat to nizwa?
thanks.
That's what I showed in this video, I went by bus. The bus company in Oman is called Mwasalat.
How many days do you recommend spending in Oman? I am planning on doing a broad trip in the Middle East. Thanks for any recommendations.
Hard to say, just depends on how much time you have and how much of the country you want to see. There's a lot more to see than where I went in my two weeks there, which was Sohar, Muscat and Nizwa. There's one famous arabic Restaurant in Oman it could Arab World Restaurant

Have you ever been to Indonesia...??
Yes: th-cam.com/users/gabejedmosearch?query=Indonesia
Kind of reminds me of Central Egypt.
The roads are v wide but no hustle 🚌 🚎 bustle there less chances of accidents
4:46 looks like Goku is pulling off a spirit bomb again
How much was tht room in Nizva? Did it incl breakfast?
It was $60 a night including taxes and yes breakfast included.
Gabriel Traveler thks!
That place looks like northern Nevada!,
Gabe. Why you don´t ask people where the arabic restaurants are?
I found one. There's only one in town. It will be in an upcoming video.
Do you have any plans to go to Russia one day Gabriel? Especially the (far) east and Siberia are very interesting imo
Where’s the next stop? YEMEN? lol, jk.. Although you’d be the biggest badass ever to visit there right now and document it.
Afghanistan maybe?
polifatts ও
Hi..r u still in Oman?
