Well, the decision has been made! The Big Wang Turbo John Mustang is not going to be rebuilt! It made it's last ride with us, and I really appreciate all the love the car showed us. This car has been running strong for 2 years, and was only getting faster but my stupid mistake is just gonna be too much to rebuild. Luckily, I have some awesome friends that helped me pull the parts and pieces off of it and get ready to swap to the new loaner car.......My buddy Randy (not ProMod Randy) has had this car sitting for a little while, and has offered it up for us to use........check this tube chassis car out... lets see if we can get it running and running up front. Tube chassis cars to the front.....lol

I can't wait to see it, for a short time!lol Glad you're happy though, and build wise, it looks pretty good! To do paint like that, spray it on, take some saran wrap and lay it down, pull up quickly and bam, bowling ball!lol

John, since you need to replace the front fenders, extend the front tubing until the spindals are infront of the engine. More weight bias to the rear will allow more power applied early in the run on backside tracks.

I had a friend call me after she had an accident in a Saturn. She told me her fender exploded. I was thinking she was overreacting... I showed up to tow her and sure as shit that Saturn fender done blowed up! I had no idea the body panels are plastic on those Saturns! I am sure that will make a solid base for big John!!!

Them saturns came factory with the plastic panels. Reason i know is we use to build them for dirt track cars. They worked well on the dirt track so it should work well as a gnarly drag car. Im happy for you buddy.

That is a great loaner starter car to drop your good parts into TJ, thanks to Randy...it may w/TJ and company work, be even faster than the most recent car! Looking real forward to seeing the project become a real race car from the pretty decent roller it is now.
Just really glad you are not going to at this point attempt to fix the unfortunately really tweaked chassis. You life is worth more than fighting to straighten out that tweaked chassis that saved your life.

Randy, you are the man for coming up w/ that fast loaner roller and race rental for a great friend! This project is going to make the subscribe button on the channel explode into a new direction!
Keep the paint as is big boy, it will attract a whole new fanbase, and create content and controversy where none should even exist, but will build the channel further I will predict.
Every channel needs haters and lovers to make the youtubes glow bigger. And that 70's paint will glow under those track lights, and look like a blur as you go by the competition.
Next up, Billy has Uncle Bucko and Mark at A-1 Auto Parts mix up a special whole car parts and paint dip to color up his Snow White First Gen Camaro to match TJ's 70ish looking Saturn IV Rocket, so they can both be Burnin' 🔥 Down The House!

That's a late 90s SC2 coupe,they come factory with a plastic body. I had a 97 that had a 4 cylinder front wheel drive and for what it was it handled really good ,was a Lil peppy. That's a good lookin race car I've never seen 1 in race trim. Goodluck she gonna be light & fast

Had a 70 nova ss burnt orange paint with a sliver strip on the bottom of car. 383 stroker badass car. It was called the gate keeper. You had to outrun me to get to a few other peoples cars. Not many did.
I will never want to go that fast in something so gutted! I'm more of stock as possible body. Wish you luck 🤞 on the new car.

That's a good fairly complete car. The bump steer looks like it will be crazy, you might have to move the rack back
This front end is set up correctly. The rack width is the correct length for the lower control arm location, the tie rods are the correct length & on the right plane for the lower control arms & it has correct positive Ackermann. This will not bump steer, unlike the Mustang that was all wrong with the rack being too wide, the tie rods too short & on the wrong plane & it had reverse Ackermann.

Sad sequence watching the Mustang being stripped and dragged into the yard. But the interim car should be out of this world. Good decision to build a new car. Can't wait to see the process.

I think you could raise the strut mounts on the front to get your long travel struts on there. BTW, that has to be the most labor intensive butt ugly paint job I have ever seen! 🤣

It's a chassis car! Why would it need travel? You think a sub 80 inch motor plate with a 4 link needs a long travel setup to plant the tire? I'm going to go out on a limb and say that since the lexan windshield is cut out for induction clearance due to setback that he can get away without travel 😉😉
