John Truby, in his Anatomy of Genre, has one of my favorite takes on it. Horror deals with the universal human problem of what to do when we become prey. Transcendent horror explores how our greatest predator is us.
Cool vid. If you want to get really philosophical about it, do you know about Mikhail Bakhtin and grotesque realism? There's a lot in that you could apply to horror movies.
@catharsismachine looking at Bakhtin is getting *very* academic. He was a Russian guy who wrote in the 1950s, about French literature from the 1500s. But there's definite similarities, he talks about 'grotesque images' like bodily functions and dismemberment in literature.
i am anxious about psychos obsessed with their sexual identity, because back then in the 90's everyone accepted whatever you were and werent people obsessed with pronouns
This channel is highly underrated. Hope you blow up soon 👍
Thank you. I hope so too!

i love your channel, but i have to search even if i activated the bell
Oh weird. But thanks for letting me know
i find horror movies silly, but instead i preffer war movies
Some war movies border on horror. Have you ever seen "Come and See"? It is a Russian war mivie, but plays like a horror movie
