Terrific list. So glad you included 'The Dark And The Wicked' and 'The Battery'. A few I would throw in are: *A Dark Song *Speak No Evil *The Canal *Dashcam *Teeth
Poison for the Faires 1986( Spainish) A domineering classmate (10Yrs old) convinces a shy classmate ,with rich parents,She is an evil witch in training. Terrifing and tricking her a lot at first but then the games become or Sadistic..
#CM 👋🏽 really enjoyed "The Signal" ! I have quite a few of Jack Ketchum's books in my collection.. the film adaptations I've seen aren't 2 bad... I like ur style👍🏽awesome list..new sub🍿🍻
This is a great selection, really. Very pleasantly surprised to see "The Reflecting Skin" on this list, as it is rarely even considered to be Horror (and is really quite obscure, of course, despite Mortensen being part of the cast). I can recommend the very few other films by that director, Philip Ridley, as well, "The passion of Darkly Noon" and "Heartless", although "The Reflecting Skin" is probably his best work. Another film that might interest you would be "Léolo", a very intense, dreamlike and dark drama about childhood, by a Canadian Director who sadly passed, just after making it.
I'm sure you'll find it very interesting. And by the way, thanks for all those great, well-made videos on your channel, I've watched several by now and I really think they are some great additions to a lot of ongoing discussions
Incident in a Ghostland is usually my recommendation too, not many have seen it and It's good. Barbarian is good too, just watch it without seeing a trailer it's great.
Great list. I absolutely loved the Battery and Eden Lake. The end of Eden Lake though... I also had the pleasure of meeting Angela Bettis some years back and she was super cool so The Woman is definitely on my "need to watch" list now.
Oh yes, Angela Bettis is incredible. Glad to know she is a nice person. She was also great in SICK GIRL, which is Lucky McKee's Masters of Horror episode. I recommend it if you can find it.
Carpenter's The Thing, Possession, Mungo Lake (wouldn't consider the latter horror necessarily but it was well made) are interesting ones off the top of my head. You've probably seen them but I don't seek out this genre, just get good ones recommended to me, usually. Speaking of which, never heard of The Reflecting Skin, looks interesting
Well seen most of these saw The Signal in theater definitely better than Cell. I remember the Battery was on a lot of top 10 lists but personally thought it was amateurish and boring. The Loved Ones , Eden Lake are absolutely classics! The first movie i saw Viggo Mortensen in was another horror movie that's an absolute classic Prison .
Awesome list, I highly recommend a movie called 'The Blair witch project' its some old movie from the 2000's but i thoroughly enjoyed it. Check it out if you haven't seen it. :)

Thanks! Yes, A Dark Song is great. Speak no Evil destroyed me. Haven't seen the Canal. I'll check it out. Thanks for the suggestion.

Terrifing and tricking her a lot at first but then the games become or Sadistic..
Sounds great., Thanks for the tip!
Eden Lake really shocked me in a good way. it is really rare for me, that a movie can achieve that.

Thanks. Yes, Jack Ketchum is pretty great.
Yep, seen all of them. Great list !
Thanks!
Nobody every mentions The Woman, definitely horrific and thought provoking
I love The Woman. Lucky McKee and Angela Bettis have made a few good movies together

Thanks for those recommendations Catharsis. Here's mine: Incident in a ghostland (2018), a french project but english spoken. It's one hell of a ride.
Thanks! I'l check it out. I've never heard of it.
Incident in a Ghostland is usually my recommendation too, not many have seen it and It's good. Barbarian is good too, just watch it without seeing a trailer it's great.
I have seen barbarian and it's excellent I agree with you. Evil dead (2013) is hugely entertaining and relentless.
@@shining472 Yes, the 2013 Evil Dead is really underrated. One of the best (and one of the only good) reboots of all time
@@EQ2snorkle I love Barbarian. I'll have to check out Incident in Ghostland
Agree totally on The Loved Ones - Incredible movie and rarely spoken about!
It is so good. I love Lola

about to check out Out of Darkness in theatres now
Yes, I am curious about that one

The Thing is my second favorite horror movie. Possession is amazing, and definitely underrated!
Mungo Lake is low key very disturbing.
No movie has ever made me as angry as Eden Lake did.
I can see that. It angered me too, but in a way that I found effective as a movie experience, so I don't mind.
@@catharsismachine Yes, it's a really good movie, but I loathed humanity after watching it,

The loved ones great.
I’m not British but I believe they’re called “chavs” over there.
I suppose they need a name. We'd call them "white trash" -- not the nicest distinction

That sounds familiar...
