Your videos have made me fall in love with adorable Teddy. We lost our PBGV and I never thought I would find another puppy to love.
I do have one question: we have a 3 story house with 35 steps. Chloe (our peeb) also had a long basset body and short legs. She did manage to go up the stairs slinky style and sometimes actually ran down. Do you have stairs or have you watched how Teddy handles them?

We have a staircase to the first floor with 16 steps and a staircase to the basement. My parents taught me to wait by the stairs when I was a puppy. They carry me up and down. When my parents are both upstairs, I bark and they come and get me. It works really well. I've never tried to go up the stairs by myself, which amazes my parents.😀 I don't want to go into the basement at all. I hope I was able to help you. Thank you so much for your concern! ❤️❤️🐾 I'm happy to report that the garden is safe and sound, and so are Mum and Dad.🐾 I take my role as Head of Garden Security very seriously.🌳🌷🐾 When there's a storm, I spring into action. 🐾🐾 First, I make sure my family is safe inside. ❤️Then, it's time for a thorough garden inspection. 🌳🌷I start with the birdfeeder making sure it's still standing strong for my feathered friends. 🐦 Next, I trot over to the apple tree to check that the chairs are dry and comfortable. I even have my own little „Dachshund Disaster Plan“ - it involves lots of barking, tail-wagging, and quick dashes to inspect every spot.😃🐾🌳🌷

Those squirrels 🐿️ are so cheeky, digging up the flower beds, sitting on the chairs under the apple tree and stealing bird food. But they don't stand a chance against a big, fearless dachshund. 😃😄😀 It's true, I'm fascinated by everything in my garden kingdom. From the blooming flowers to the singing birds, there's always something to keep me entertained. 😃❤️🐾

As soon as we got back home from our rainy adventure 🌧️, I ran straight into the garden in my yellow raincoat. 🌳🌷I wasn't going to let those cheeky squirrels 🐿️ get away with anything! And wouldn't you know it, I found a tiny umbrella ☂️ propped up next to the bird feeder. 😄😄😄Those squirrels must have wanted to stay dry too!!! They must think they can outsmart me. Don't worry, I'm on high alert to make sure those sneaky little guys don't cause any trouble.😀 After all that hard work😄, I enjoyed some well-deserved cuddles on the sofa with Mum and Dad. ❤️🐾We watched the rain 🌧️ and I got extra treats for being such a vigilant dachshund detective. 🐾🐾🐾

Servus lieber Teddy❣️ Ich hab in den vergangenen Tagen angesichts der miesen Wettermeldungen 🌧️💦 immer wieder an Dich gedacht, weil ich ja weiß, dass Du in Bayern zu Hause bist, aber da ich ja nicht weiß, in welchem Teil von Bayern Du wohnst, hab ich gehofft, dass bei Dir in der Gegend nicht so arg viel Regen kommt, damit Dein Haus und Garten, Dein Vogelhäuschen und Deine geliebten Gänseblümchen somit von dem vielen Regen verschont bleiben und nicht unter Wasser stehen!!!
Wie schön zu sehen, dass bei Dir alles gut und im grünen Bereich 🍀🌿🌳💚 ist und Du, Mum & Dad von den Wassermassen verschont geblieben seid 👍👏‼️
Aber bei Deinem Sonntagsausflug hat sich jetzt gezeigt, was diese Wassermassen alles anrichten können.... Da hast auch Du, lieber Teddy, große Augen gemacht und Dich gewundert, wie verändert die Landschaft jetzt aussieht, nicht wahr?!? Regen ist schon gut für die Natur und die Landwirtschaft - selbst wenn Du, Teddylein, ihn nicht magst ;-).... aber zu viel davon bringt nun einmal mehr Schaden als dass es nützlich wäre!!!

We searched for it using the German words for raincoat dog (Regenmantel Hund). I think it’s still available. I'm a standard dachshund and wear size M.
