It's becoming really tiresome. I wonder why we Eastern Catholics seem to be in the Orthodox crosshairs as of late? Any Eastern Catholic TH-cam video has a plethora of teenage converts like this guy coming in and espousing all their tired talking points. I wonder what their bishops think of their behavior? Also what is it with converts evangelizing like mad in Orthodoxy circles? They don't have any theological training.

      1. You can research Eastern Catholicism, visit and watch the many interviews with Eastern Catholic clergy, they confirm these.. th-cam.com/video/vR5JWsc1-qY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=YepAjqVbu8Mp7sJ4
      2. I did not convert because of memes.. I literally have an entire presentation of why I left.. watch it: th-cam.com/video/41iyvql3Dhs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=XtQtgipJP7kQ66-V & a whole playlist : th-cam.com/play/PL6eyVWFC0v8dRxtTvcdACuo3AOkvB9eb3.html
      3. I can even make the arguments simple here
      (a) Papal Supremacy is not taught in first 1000 years, we can see this in the canons of the councils and Popes being condemned by the Council. During the time of the schism, Rome relied on FORGERIES like donation of Constantine, Symmachian forgeries etc etc.. Rome has ADMITED this error in recent Alexandria and Chieti document..
      (b) even if Catholicism was true, Modern Catholic teaching treats Orthodox like a sister church.. we have valid sacraments.. we have Christ = why do we need the Pope?... AND Rome has canonized POST-schism Orthodox Saints like Sergius of Radonezh
      (c) The average catholic experience SUCKS at the novus ordo and many parishes follow spirit of vatican II... Modern Saints like JP2 kiss the quran and embrace false religions VERSUS average orthodox divine liturgy is VERY reverent, and has Christ in the Eucharist.. and we make great modern Saints like Seraphim Rose & St Paisios.. St John of San Francisco..
please watch my other videos! God bless!

      @@OrthodoxKyle
      a) The pope was always the highest authority. Does this mean he is infallible? Not in the sense you want your viewers to believe it. Even the orthodox admit that the pope is "primus inter pares“. This should effectively mean that the orthodox SHOULD regard the pope as their highest authority.
      b) Yes, because we strive to have actual union with the orthodox church. There are also wonders which happen there. Patriarch Cyrill from Russia (whom you show at least 1000 times per video) was also very ecumenical prior to the war like many other orthodox bishops. Furthermore, why not follow Protestantism? You do know that we are often considered to worship idols. The protestants have just a theology with missing elements! So we can‘t really believe things that put us into hell (according to the logic of many protestants).
      c) You must understand that there are real lifes of middle eastern Christians involved. John Paul II. kissing the Quran saved countless lifes (btw we don‘t even know if it was a Quran. John Paul could also have simply made a mistake. The pope is the pope and not Christ.) Moreover, you should check out Padre Pio and Fatima because these miracles are irrefutable and proof for Catholicism. Don‘t argue like the pharisee king Dyer who says that wonders for Christ have been performed by Satan. Lastly, the Novus Ordo isn‘t the problem. I‘m Polish and every mass is great. However, every mass isn‘t so great when I‘m in Germany because of heretical priests (but there are also liberal orthodox priests in Germany).
P.S. Into what kind of heretical catholicism were you into? Wearing a brown piece of cloth for not going into Purgatory? This is pure heresy. Message me if you want to be taught further.

this is precisely why I didnt convert to orthodoxy (there are quite a few other reasons why, but this is what angers me to see in orthodox apologetics): the way that you approach the debate between catholicism and orthodoxy.
It is recurrent when debating a protestant to notice that they see our Church and our Faith as a Caricature, and the debate is reduced to a mere exchange of biblical quotes. Something similar seem to happen in this type of debate, where we simply exchange quotes from Church Fathers, which is pointless and ridiculous to see. Any serious intelectual figure wouldnt treat this debate saying things like "catholicism is so dumb, you can have any theology and bow to the pope and still be catholic, therefore, catholicism is false" and popping multiple flash cards with enormous texts that supposedly contradict the faith that for 2000 years of theology and examination was confessed...
There are a few other things, like Catholic theology seem more consistent to me than Orthodox in some points (like saying that God is simple and not multiple), or the way that the Catholic Church see sacraments or religions outside of the Catholic Church seem to me also more prudent than the way Orthodox seem to see it, also, I know for sure that people like Therese of Lisieux (looking the way she prays with the spirit that the Saints always prayed and she has quotes which are so similar to Saint John Chrysostom even though she probably never read it), Saint Dominique, Saint bonaventure, Saint Francis of Assisi are Saints (there is an orthodox post about how supposedly "proves" that Saint Francis of Assisi is PROUDFUL and therefore not a saint which is SIMPLY ABSURD), so denying that these people are Saints is simply unacceptable to me.
Sorry for the vent, God bless.

0:10 The Eastern Catholics didn't appear suddenly out of nowhere and converted to Catholicism from Orthodoxy because of the pope's beautiful eyes or something. They were forced to convert. Orthodox Christian Transylvanian Romanians were persecuted by the Austrian Roman Catholics in the 18th century. Maria Theresa (1717 - 1780), the Hasburg ruler ordered Adolf Nikolaus von Buccow, an Austrian general and governor of Transylvania to destroy all Romanian Orthodox churches and monasteries. Only Sâmbăta de Sus Monastery survived but it still has damage from the Hasburg cannons that were fired at it. Also Romanian priests, monks and faithful Romanian Orthodox Christians were unalived. That's how the Romanian Eastern Catholic Church got converts, the Romanians got threatened with violence and even death if they didn't convert to Catholicism, so the Eastern Catholic Church became a compromise between Orthodoxy and Catholicism. The same thing happened with the Ruthenians (today Ukranians) and to the Serbs during WW2 under the Roman Catholic Croats.

I am a catechumen and I can tell you from personal experience this is a hotly debated topic within Orthodoxy. The notion of only chrismating a heterodox is relatively new and based on the teaching of the Holy Fathers is not consistent with the historic faith tradition. If you want to be baptized you may need to find someone who is actually willing to baptize you. Right now I am looking at the Serbians, Bulgarians, and ROCOR even though I attend a Greek parish.

I am a former member of a religious community in Catholicism that identified as an orthodox monastery. Here are my two biggest issues with Eastern Catholicism (aka Byzantine Catholicism).
    1. Identity politics - I have a good friend who is a Ukrainian Catholic seminarian and he is convinced that Byzantine Catholics have fully embraced identity politics and we both find that to be very disturbing. For example the Ukrainians have embraced hyper nationalist sentiments as an identity. My former religious community identified as "Orthodox in communion with Rome" and genuinely believed that they were Orthodox monastics no matter how incoherent their existence and actual adherence to Orthodoxy in monasticm was and continues to be. I like to refer to these people as trans-orthodox because them identifying as Orthodox makes as much sense as a transsexual referring to themselves as a pregnant male.
    2. ECUMENISM - This is what is the true reality of uniatism and Byzantine Catholicism as a whole. When I joined the aforementioned religious community that I was a part of the hegumen sat me down and informed me that the primary mission of the religious community was to advance the cause of ecumenism. Prior to that I had been on a pilgrimage to Europe which was supposed to be a Byzantine Catholic pilgrimage, we we had several prominent clergyman within Byzantine Catholicism who gave talks advocating for ecumenism and I remember them talking about how dishonest they thought the Orthodox were because of how in their opinion the Orthodox viewed history. What I began to notice was that Catholicism follows the same world establishment that brought us the authoritarianism of covid and the LGBT nonsense. Their words are not consistent with their actions, cognitive dissonance does not matter only advancing the cause of ecumenism where anything goes so long as everyone is subjugated to certain worldly authority.

I'm a Polak (Mazovian) who practices Greek Catholicism. If you read about how Greek Catholics were treated in the PLC by the Polish Catholic hierarchs, you would probably understand why. Of course that is not an excuse, and I consider Bandera a bastard and a traitor, but on some level, you could understand why these guys would want to form a Ukranian identity based around the UGCC. Under the circumstances Greek Catholics faced, hyper nationalism was probably inevitable, much as it angers me to say.

Everything from the Catholic Church he says has an explanation. Orthodoxy has many problems as well, starting form the horrible Palmist theology. The difference between the Orthodox Church and the Catholic Church is that in the Catholic Church there can be disagreement but in unity. Catholic means of the whole, Orthodoxy is not of the whole: it is decided, inconsistent and it rather have mental peace by reducing everything to "Sola Traditio" rather than embracing and discussing the complexities of the immense mystery of God.
We can go on and list each and every one of the problems of the Catholic and Orthodox Church, but I believe that at the end of the day, it is a leap of faith to submit to the Catholic Church authority, and based on what I know and experienced and seeing the intense fruits of the Catholic Church, not only in Europe but in all the continents and the great saints I know I am in the right place.
Yes it is true, the Catholic Church is going through horrible times. But most of the things they say of the pope are fake news. Yes, he says some very ignorant things but he is no magnificent theologian but rather a weird kinda charismatic pastor, which I don't like, but I know God has permitted him to be the leader of the Catholic Church, the biggest on on earth BY FAR.
This however, does not give you the right to stab the Church's back and leave it for your mental peace.

Is this a Joke?? the whole point of the video is that The Catholic Church Venerates Palamas also?? If his theology is so heretical then why does Eastern Catholic consider him a Saint???

@@OrthodoxKyle Indeed, We the catholics should not venerate the heretic ideas of Palamas. That is a fake ecumenism and a bad understanding of what I will say to you bellow.
And no, the Catholic Church does not have different theologies. Dogmas do not change and are UNIVERSAL as the Catholic church is. You are confusing theological views and theories with dogmas.
In regard of the things you say about the Filioque (thinking you somehow outran the whole of the Catholic Tradition: what was once saint is ALWAYS holly. If saying the old creed was holly it is still holly and that cannot change. It is a matter of understanding and accepting the Easterns, not of imposing the western tradition which is more vast and has developed better in its understanding thanks to historical and cultural reasons. The eastern catholics get that and they are saying no heresies, they just haven't professed the completed understanding given by the Holly Magisterium of the Church. Just as they don't teach the Holly Immaculate Conception of the Mother of God and her assumption to heaven.
And by the way, this is an honest question. If the Catholic Church is fake and heretic, how can it be that God has permitted it to grow to be BY FAR the biggest christian denomination? How is it possible that catholics have the bodies of the 12 apostles? how is it possible that we have so many apparitions? how is it possible we have so many saints? how is it possible we have so many miraculous events like the transformation of catholic eucharist into blood and flesh? Idk man, I respect the Orthobros but they do so many things many groups inside the church do in regards of having so much resentment.

Can anyone explain and reconcile the fact that Catholicism embraces heretical Church entities such as nestorian heretics and monophysites? It's interesting to hear people in Catholicism speak about unity when they have fully accepted communion with those that they have condemned as heretics for centuries. I am trying to lead my Pentecostal friend to Orthodoxy. I know there are many errors with Protestantism in general, and that speaking in tongues isn't biblical. However, I talked to him and he said he will research Orthodox history but he will remain Pentecostal. I've known him for a long time and I really do care about his salvation, but how can I explain to him that Pentecostalism is non-trinitarian, that speaking in tongues is like a mental illness and that there are many errors in their teaching? How do I say this without offending him or making him resent Orthodoxy in general?

The rock was Peter. The Old Testament always foreshadows what's to come. Jesus made Peter a steward as the Lord made Eliakim a steward. This is why Peter was mentioned nearly 180 times in the New Testament. The other apostles combined are mentioned around 90.
      Matthew 16:18
"And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock, I will build my church."
You are Rock, and on this rock, I will build my church.
Rock Nérpoç "Peter is simply the masculine form of the Greek word for "rock" (from where we get petroleum and petrify). This verse is a play on words. Jesus gives Simon the name Rock, and on this rock, Jesus will build his Church.
Let us compare *Isaiah 22:22 / *Matthew 16:19
      Isaiah 22:22a
"| will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David" "b "What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.''
      Matthew 16:19a
"I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven." "b Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
Implications of stewardship. Why did Jesus refer to Isaiah 22?
      Isaiah 22:15
Custody over the king's assets. (See also Matthew 24:45-47) / Peter holds custody over the Church on earth.
      Isaiah 19-21
Holds office with successors / Popes (Bishops of Rome) Hold office with successors Like Judas' office of bishop (Acts 1:20)
      Isaiah 22:21
Father over the nation / Pope over the church. Pope = "Father" in Greek / Latin
      Isaiah 22:22
Serves the Davidic King / Peter Serves the King (Jesus)
Jesus again charges Peter to watch over His flock, giving him authority over the Church on earth before ascending into Heaven.
      John 21:15-17
Jesus said to Simon Peter . "'Feed my lambs, Tend my sheep, Feed my sheep."
Later, Peter uses this authority to silence a dispute in Jerusalem.
      ACTS 15:7-12
And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up and said .. Then, all the multitude kept silent.
There has been an unbroken chain of bishops of Rome from Peter to Linus to Cletus up until today. The bishop of those first Christians mentioned in the Bible was Ignatius of Antioch. The one who referred to the church as "Catholic" in the first century. One of many witnesses of Peter's authority as bishop of Rome. Early Church witnesses, like Bishop of Lyons Irenaeus, etc.
The church is the cornerstone here on earth, the trunk, and all of the Catholic Christian churches of Christ around the world are the branches. All teaching the same theological view on the sacred scriptures. No female priests, no BLM flags, water baptism, and His real presence in the Eucharist. We can even see the mass in Revelation. Martin Luther had no authority to create another church. John Calvin had no authority to create another church. Roger Williams had no authority to create a church. Christ alone created ONE church with overseers to protect the sacred traditions and scriptures handed down His church to be one, not 30,000 like I had mentioned before. Without the church authority and apostolic succession of bishops, it's like a house without a father at home. There's nobody to call the brothers to the table when they're at odds with one and other like the Orthodox (they can't even share in the Eucharist among themselves) or see the church fly off of the rails like whats happening in the Methodist church. The One Holy Catholic and apostolic church was it.

@@Alexandria-80my take on it is that Islam was heavily influenced by the nestorian heresy in the century leading up to their prophet Muhammad founding Islam. The heretic Nestorious fled into the Arabic lands after he was expelled from Europe for his heresy and continued to promote said heresy to many in the Middle East. So it follows that as he denied the divinity of Christ so would the soon-to-be adherents of Islam in the future who took his message and used it as one of the foundations of Islam.
