The Schindler's list will always break my heart cause the same free hate that hunted the honest people back in WW II is coming back among the current wars from Israel and Ukraine. Not just Jewish, but all the people who get caught in the crossfire. Biopics might be a little hard to watch but if we don't learn anything from the story, we will not be ready to face it ourselves.

I remember watching The Elephant Man when I was 10 years old in 1981. I didn't really get the underlying themes at the time but I absolutely bawled when he laid down on his back at the end of the movie. I have watched that many times since I have cried even harder each time I watch it. When Joseph yells that he is a human being literally broke my heart beyond repair. This movie stills makes my heart hurt 40+ years since I watched it the first time.

This is a controversial choice but I loved Bohemian Rhapsody. Say what you want about it, the film is amazing and when I first saw the film in cinemas I was captivated from start to finish. It was a true celebration of the band's music. Other biopics that I really enjoyed also; Charlie Wilson's War, Sophie's Choice, Elvis, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, The Imitation Game, Saving Mr. Banks, Captain Phillips and not films but the two miniseries Band of Brothers and The Pacific.

Goodfellas truly is one of the greatest films of all time. Scorcese is a master at telling true stories especially Raging Bull and Wolf of Wall Street. He also did another excellent biopic that should be mentioned, The Aviator about the life of Howard Hughes and portrayed by Leo DiCaprio. Ben Kingsley truly disappeared into the role of Gandhi, one of the best biopic portrayals alongside Robert DeNiro and Daniel Day Lewis. Eddie Redmayne as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything should also be included here. Others should also be Cate Blanchett's Elizabeth, Renee Zellweger's Judy, Ian McKellan's Gods and Monsters, Gary Busey's The Buddy Holly Story, Angelina Jolie's Changeling and Christian Bale's Vice.

This list seems to be very "male" dominated and top heavy in showing their achievements. I think it's a travesty that MANY of Meryl Streep's bio pics were not listed (Iron Lady...incredible performance, Florence Foster Jenkins, Suffragette, Julie and Julia, Postcards from the Edge and A Cry In the Dark), seriously Meryl is the QUEEN of the biopics and she didn't even get a mention here. Angela Basset's portrayal of Tina Turner in What's Love Got To Do With It, should have also made the list. Julia Roberts' Erin Brockovich...brilliant. Diana Ross in "Lady Sings the Blues", Cate Blanchett's Elizabeth, Renee Zellweger's Judy...absolutely heart wrenching. Shocked these weren't included.
Others? Rami Malek's Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rapsody. Definitely deserved to be on this list. His painstaking attention to detail (especially the scene from Live Aid, was truly phenomenal), there's a side by side comparison on youtube, just search: FULL Queen at LIVE AID Side By Side Comparison with Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody 2018).

A biopic that was just released is the over due credit given to the architect of the historic March on Washington in 1963, Bayard Rustin in the film Rustin. There is a choral work about him that our chorus performed some years back. I am so gratified he is finally getting the recognition he so richly deserves. Domingo Colman gives a realistic portrayal of Bayard Rustin so much so, it’s as if one goes back in time, witnessing these evens unfold.

I would have thrown in The Social Network, it's just such an unlikely topic for a film.

"Reds" should be high on this list. Sheer brilliance.
Also, "The Imitation Game" and "The Social Network" should be here.
I was thrilled to see "The Last Emperor" included. Brilliant film.
"Walk the Line" as a film is over-rated. Also, while RDJ's performance in "Chaplin" is superb, the film itself is not worthy of inclusion here.
While the films themselves were not necessarily of this caliber, mention must be made of the great Chadwick Boseman, who was well on his way to becoming the King of biopics, having given outstanding performances in "42" as Jackie Robinson, in "Get On Up" as James Brown and in "Marshall" as the young Thurgood Marshall.

Cillian Murphy in Peaky Blinders set up after WW1 : Leading a brutal gang, robbering, killing people.
Cillian Murphy in Oppenheimer set up after WW2 : Making Nuclear Bomb which killed around 200,000 people
So may be in WW3 movie he will destroy the whole universe 😂😂😂😂
