Not knowing English in Sri Lanka is a result Lack of education. So these people don't have access to lots of resources which the English speaking community has. Then talking down on people is the way they take their jealousy or frustration out. If you see The Voice comments section most of the Colombo based contestants get hatred all those comments are in Sinhala. This is fundamental issue of growing up in Sri Lanka.
