i searched it up and for some reason ren and stimpy adult party had 2 seasons a total of 9 episodes if i ever want to challenge my self i will watch 3 episodes of this show instead of watching boku no pico
The original Ren and Stimpy was awesome, and my mother has lots of nostalgia for it. When I showed her this episode in Adult Party Cartoon, she was crying over how terrible these characters felt and became,
Its one of those things that's so stupid you don't even know how they came up with the idea. Like when Capcom stopped making mega man games as if there were no fans that program and replicate mega man games for non-profit. Much less know the basic structure of mega man.
Democracy of Gray Considering how Pursel used to write good for the old Ren and Stimpy and how Capcom used to be good at making games, it's really sad to see how far they've fallen (even if you were never a fan of either).
“Ren seeks help” seems more like a creepy pasta/lost episode than an actual episode. As an animal lover, it makes me really sad. It makes my heart hurt that this even got into the air. Hell, it feels more like a snuff film
Jaceblue04 Did you know that they were going to make a Spongebob APC? Thankfully, Steven Hellenburg stopped that from happening. Even though One Coarse Meal and A Pal For Gary are the closest things we have to that being a reality.
Tony Garcia How is he a pervert? Did he do something? If so do you have a source. I mean I get “Ren Seeks Help” but making a disturbing episode of a show doesn’t make you a pervert.
In the years since "Ren Seeks Help" was created, we've learned that John K. is actually a sicko in real life, so it's not at all surprising that he would create something as grotesque as that.
I’m so glad Billy West chose not to come back for this filth of animation history and instead went on to do great cartoons like Space Jam and Futurama.
@@collinkeyser6827 Try the fact that he actively had sex with, lived with, groomed, dated, and hired underage girls while making the show. He constantly made drawings of underage characters in bikinis. And that's not even getting to the fact that he was so uncooperative, critical, abusive, late, and hard to work with that Nickelodeon fired him.
@@Believin_Stephen Damn! Why Are Most Of Nickelodeon's BEST Shows Created By Creeps?! Because John And Dan Schneider Created Some Of Nickelodeon's Best Shows.
Phantom makes a good point. No matter how young the target audience is, there should be something to a show that adults/ parents can appreciate so they can enjoy television with their children.
@powerstar 2028 Well, that's not entirely true. When we're adults, and we look back on shows we watched as children, we do find that a lot of it isn't as good as we remember, but we do also still enjoy a good chunk of it. Also, while we do generally become more cynical as we get older, we usually don't become totally misanthropic.
Breadwinners seems like a cartoon my parents wouldn't let me watch as a kid solely because it's loud and stupid. They thought Rugrats and CatDog were bad? Oh, my dear parents have no idea.
@powerstar 2028 I watch all the days of the week 70s 80s 90s cartoons except that trash of ren and stampy and the trash of adult gore sex animate series here is the list I watch 1-rocko's modern life 2-hey arnold 3-batman animated series 4-justice league 5-HE-MAN 6-Thundercats 7-INITIAL D 8-Scooby doo original series 8-Sailor moon 9-Sponge bob doesn't count because it isn't from the 90s but in my channel they put the first 5 seasons 10-The simpson the seasons of the 90s were not with much adult content just some explicit language without sex or gore my the only seasons of the series my fathers let me look are from the 90s to 2002
@@tahnis_walart Still though the entire breadwinners thing makes no sense because Nickelodeon chose a joke out of all things on TH-cam and the creator actually thought it was a joke when they were told about it AND it lasted on the air for three years
There’s much better TH-cam series that could be turned into an actual show, like asdfmovie. A full length movie based upon asdfmovie could be great! But I’d be afraid TomSka would lose the rights to his creation. Also like, they created the video themselves BEFORE Nickelodeon bought it, and now they don’t own the rights to their creation anymore? Bruh
You know why is "adult comedy" more juvenile and immature? Or hell why are most adult shows mainly comedies? Why not have an adult horror mystery cartoon like an adult Gravity Falls or an adult superhero action cartoon?
@@justinweber4977 The only exceptions to this is the Spawn cartoon (Which I HIGHLY recommend) and the Samurai Jack reboot. Hell even shows like Rick and Morty, Futurama, and Disenchantment try to throw in either sci-fi or fantasy into the mix
Ren seeks help freaked me out really bad. It reminded me me too much of someone who deserves his prison sentence. I neededmy anxiety meds after. In a way though it's fascinating about a form of psychopathic sadism that you don't want to believe exists. It does though even outside of Ren Seeks Help
That's the reason I liked it, it's just so sadistic and psychotic that it's interesting. Mr. Pickles was just shock humour, not very interesting, just cheap gore. Ren Seeks Help actually uses the traits of future serial killers (Torture of animals, sadistic nature), that's what interested me.
I never confused it for a second... I knew John K. was going to just unleash his mad creativity and psychotic humor into this abysmal and scarring cartoon.... I FUCKING LOVE IT
I really hate it when someone comments on a video with r&s, then says "this isn't a children's cartoon because [insert scene from apc]?" We get it. What you think is suitable for minors is up to you, but if you want to say it's not a children's cartoon, then give a reason that is NOT from apc.
Chillrix Yoshi Yeah, I hate it when I talk about Ren and Stimpy with someone and they say something like "Isn't that the show where a character tortures animals?" or "That's the show with the topless beach chicks, right?" Ugh. No.
I can't believe I actually liked Breadwinners as a kid. Now when I think about it... What the hell was so funny or cool about two ducks twerking on a screen? I have no idea.
Back then my mom didn't let me watch spongebob reruns cause apperently i might become stupid because of it, so instead i tried watching breadwinners, i had an extreme headache after watching like 2 episodes of it the bright flashing colors and the loud annoying singing they do. man i lost more braincells in those two damn episodes compared to whole bee movie my god. it felt like i had a fever and someone shoved lsd down my throat i hated this show so much.
I relate. I used to watch this show when I was graduating from high school, I thought it was good, but I literally died inside after seeing this crap., just, . FUCK THIS ABOMINATION?!
i think it's the same kind of logic that made me watch teen titans go when i was a kid. it was like there were constant alarm bells going off in the back of my head yelling "THIS SHOW IS ANNOYING", but for some reason the bright colors and chibi animation style kept me watching it. i think having so much oversaturated colors and hyperactive animation just catches kids' short attention span even if the plot makes no sense.
Tom Kenny: **laughs like spongebob** That's pathetic. Jim Cummings: I don't think I can pull that off.... Dan Castellaneta: *D'OH* Nancy Cartwright: *eat my shorts* Tara Strong: *,*rolls eyes and blows raspberry**
@powerstar 2028 Who remember the TEEN TITANS of the 90s and 2000s were good times I born in 2004 but I watch the old teen titans since I was 7 nice animation and serious with a dark tone just like the animated series of batman of the 90s but the teen titans GO of cartoon network seeing a commercial of these new titans with their immature features they are obsessed with the pizza they make me vomit WE NEED A VERSION OF TEEN TITANS AGAIN just like the 90s and 2000s obviously for ages 13+ teenagers because the

@powerstar 2028 When I was saying about the serious animation its the animation without gore sex ecchi and mogi and black humor relationated with APC old teen titans series from the 90s and 2000s for a example the look of the design of the characters were simple and serious
@powerstar 2028 I saw one of your past comments you said we need bring back the serious animation back but If you think different now I respect your perspective
I have 3 things to say about Ren Seeks Help: 1. I'm pretty sure that episode has traumatized some people. 2. That frog has been through way more pain than Ellie from The Last Of Us 2. 3. 'No frogs were harmed in the making of that episode!' Same goes to centipedes/caterpillars, spiders, ants, horses and cops!
For me personally I can deal with bad kid's cartoons but... man bad adult cartoons are just soooo bad. You can totally tell they are just trying to shock you into thinking they're so edgy and unique when in reality it's just gross people doing gross stuff. It becomes tired and cringe-worthy after the first few minutes and it just becomes embarrassing the more you realise they actually think this makes them funny and interesting people. They just make a mockery of actually well thought out and hilarious adult cartoons.

I don't get why so many shows have tried using that "grotesque" aesthetic when practically nobody has ever liked it...is there something about being a western animator that makes you want things to look as gross as possible? I love cartoons but over the years I've been watching more and more Japanese anime shows just because in my opinion they're so much nicer to look at. Creative animation doesn't have to mean fugly animation! Looking at you Mr. Pickles, Kingstar King, Megababies, and The Brothers Grunt!!!
I agree with you. Some anime have tried to follow this form of "grotesque comedy" either to try it out on their own viewers or to appeal to Americans, only to end up failing at both, proving that just because you're not a child anymore, does not mean you will love this kind of "comedy."
It is great enough that PhantomStrider had a very negative opinion on many cartoons that suck balls, but things get a lot greater because of the insults he uses for them!!!
As someone who actually went through a deep depression themselves, Ren Seeks Help is disturbing on far too many levels to describe, and this is coming from someone who’s seen films like August Underground. The way Ren commits these psychotic acts only to find out that he can’t be helped, which led to him being beaten again, really shook me to my core. My question is WHO THE FUCK GREENLIT THIS? At least August Underground was marketed as, and was, a found footage style splatter film that had incredible special effect work, so you could expect the disturbing scenes in it! Ren Seeks Help, on the other hand, is from a spin off of a classic 90s cartoon which aired on goddamn Nickelodeon! That’s the end of my rant, and I just had to get this out there.
For the pass 6 years I been on a mission to warn my school of bad Motion pictures and all my years I’ve never seen anything like this I finally hit the bottom of the barrel
The idea behind it was allegedly that John K. was convinced that he was not able to come up with something that hadn't already been done before--the only thing he COULD come up with that seemed unique or new was the idea of an insane cartoon character seeking therapy. Apparently, John K. had the whole episode planned since 1991, hence why the episode randomly forgets that Ren and Stimpy are supposed to be gay lovers in the Adult Party Cartoon.
People with ASPD or psychopaths and sociopaths are human beings too. I'm a sociopath. Ren Seeks Help is particulary horrible to me because it creates a nasty oversimplified charicature of people living with a legitmate mental disorder. Being unable to feel remorse or empathy does not mean I am a horrible monster unable to do anything but harm others. I can use logic and reasoning to understand the consequences of my actions. Similarly to how being autistic doesn't make one stupid, having ASPD doesn't make me a monster
Very true. A noticable portion of society does not feel empathy. It is not that unusual. I wonder if there are alot of people who are aware of if they have a diagnosis of ASPD. As you being aware of such a thing would probably help you understand some others have empathy.
@@phantomstriderMost people with ASPD don't see that they have a problem. I found out by doing research and by working with my therapist after they pointed out some of my symptoms. It's really quite fascinating learning about how my mind works :) And yes, being aware of my inability to feel empathy gives me the opportunity to work with mental health professionals. In therapy, I learn to understand others in a logic-based way
"The Nutshack sounds like a mantra you'd repeat on a road trip to annoy your friend." I've actually done that before (minus the road trip part), and then made my friend watch a Top 20 list of worst opening themes and an episode review of The Nutshack. Apparently, I fell asleep during the review, and when it ended, I woke up and the first thing I said was, "IT'S THE NUTSHACK." My friend stayed over that night and after she showered in the morning, she told me, "My first conscious thought when I stepped into the shower was 'IT'S THE NUTSHACK'."
Paddy the Pelican was one of the 1st TV cartoons. While most TV cartoons of the period used simple, UPA, influenced designs with animatic quality animations, Paddy’s producer tried to use a style closer to 40’s theatrical cartoons. But without money for writers, checkers, backgrounds, sound fx, music, animation cells, layout artists, & the like, the shorts look rather incomplete. You can even see half-erased pencil lines on some of the drawings.
You know what annoys me? I'm a big fan of Rick and Morty right? So I suggested it to one of my friends. They responded with "I don't watch shock value shows, it's really stupid". Terrible shows like these are actually preventing people from watching something actually good, like Rick and Morty. Jesus.
+Katoka Karalashvili My friend said, "I've seen Rick and Morty, and I can't stand the grandpa's horrible voice and stuttering. Why did they let it in the show?" ._.
The creator of Brothers grunt was dared to make a kids show. That became Ed Edd 'n Eddy. The creator of Ren and Stimpy wanted to make a dirty cartoon but had to push the line because it was a kids show. ... Once it was on Spike, he was given full reign to make whatever dirty thing he wanted on that show. What's with "people who make dirty things but are forced to make kids shows", that creates genius? It's amazing.
littleblueclovers Perhaps it's their willingness to be a bit more irreverent and not have to stick to standards of wholesomeness that might underestimate the intelligence of viewers.
It came out at the hight of K2 consumption and encapsulated the common high of the drug quite well. The show is as stupid and vile as the drug it occasionally references and was sold in my neighborhood gas station for a decade.
@Cerese don't get me wrong. I was highly addicted to k2 and watched this show. And that was when I had most of a life. Everyone has a life consisting of their job, their friends and their alone time. But on k2, your life went off the rails and you would.have more of a life than any other person you knew.
The sad thing about PhantomStrider's review of Adult Party Cartoon is that "Ren Seeks Help" is probably the most tolerable episode in the whole series. He doesn't even mention the other episodes, and they debatably made the show EVEN WORSE. There's only a mere few seconds of anything actually funny in the whole show, and that's the flute dance scene because it has nothing to do with the rest of the show; it's just Ren and Stimpy being random and silly. That's it. And that's all the writers had to do to get people to even remotely LIKE this show; just include more moments that are funny and clever. But apart from this scene, the show contains neither of these adjectives. The best way to describe Adult Party Cartoon as a whole is "Cartoon Animal Torture Porn." It's ironic that the "gags" (as in "jokes") in the show actually make you want to "gag" (as in "feel sick").
Even as a kid, I couldn't find any enjoyment from Ren & Stimpy. Tom & Jerry, Looney Tunes and even Invader Zim are some of the shows I loved and still do to this day. However it's something about Ren & Stimpy that pushed me away from giving it a chance. I tried watching it on multiple occasions and I felt no type of emotion during the episodes I saw. If it was as awesome and intense like Metalocalypse, maybe I could've tolerated it.
I love Ren and Stimpy because I find it over-the-top and out there, and it has that little detail in the writing for adults. But, Adult Party Cartoon was worse than literal dog shit.
So you would also hate rocos modern Life, and a lot of SpongeBob. Also Tom and Jerry's suicide finally is worse then Ren and stimpy's. The adult party isn't a cartoon, it's a porn and murder animation for guys to watch in a basement while doing drugs and getting drunk, seeing who gets sick first. To call it a cartoon is like calling a porno based on a movie a sequel.
@powerstar 2028 That's one of the dumbest things I've heard. What about South Park, Old Family Guy, Simpsons, Rick and Morty, Futurama, King of the Hill, and much more
The Adult Party series is just John Kricfalusi goving free reign and execution to his ideas. No more pesky Nickelodeon execs telling him this is too far, or storyboarders and writers questioning his ideas. Nope, its a straight up dive into his head. Just watch his Simpsons intro and collaboration in a Treehouse of Horror episode. I hated both. John K is IRL messed up in the head. He has managed to piss off a lot of key people in the industry by the way he acts out.
I'd add 'Velma' as it's a show that makes a meanspirited 'adult' version of the show that insults you for watching it and likewise can't hide the utter contempt it has for its audience.
I had a friend who loves the episode "Ren seeks help" she's...not really well in the head. in case anyone wants to know she often stated that she had anxiety along with some other mental illness (i believe schizophrenia) but she loves ren and stimpy and especially says that the episode she loves in paticular is indeed "Ren Seeks help" which i discovered after watching this back in 2015 when it came out. i have not spoken to her in 3 years. she does however have DA account where draws...very surreal characters.
I kinda like Ren Seeks Help. I don't know if I have any mental illnesses, but I've always been interested in dark subjects like mutilation, death, torture, stuff like that, I even collect skulls, skeletons, and teeth, I have a whole shelf full of different skulls, a coyote, raccoon, cat, dog (or wolf, I'm not completely sure), fox, doe, buck, and a ton of reptile and bird skeletons, my most prized piece is an almost complete opossum skeleton. I think I'm perfectly fine, I don't hold myself in the house all day like a hermit, and I have a few friends, I guess I'm just a weirdo oof.
@@pathetic_girl somebody on the internet said that they liked the first half of the show. But then it became the “how much can we gross people out” kind of show. Don’t know if that is true or not........
@@princessofweirdsville9000 tbh it got more genuine and went through more of the characters thoroughly throughout the season and the relationship of the characters despite being gross, it is edgy and offensive and there are time u kinda go "yep thats fucked up" but most of the time even the characters are self aware about how bad the show is they even made an episode about it and, sometimes its just weirdly funny, its cool going through boundaries of humour not many people will like it but it doesn't hurt to try. And yes that movie was a huge shit show more gore than the entire series could even sum up its kinda just like the cast throwing every fucked up idea they could think of and baking it into a cake and desperetely trying to makenit seem edgier but they're on crack. Thats the best way i could describe it but after watching the movie you kinda just have to stop and put your device down breathe, touch the grass and kiss your pets in the forehead y'know?
powerstar 2028 I liked South Park I could do contreversal jokes well like strider said and I quote “only South Park could get away with so many middle fingers to its audience” (I think that’s what he said) but it’s fine if you don’t like it I know a couple people who don’t like it
That.... Thing is horrifying. I was honestly suffering watching through that last one. If I had to choose between watching that torture-filled, horrifying sack of vomit, or watching everything else on the list in a row, I would take the latter. Edit: By the way, thank you for having the montage of good cartoons at the end.
+Alex Gluch (ShadowRanger) omg when i was 9-10 i loved fanboy and chum chum i had a plushie of fanboy etc. now im 14 and i fucking burned that stuff fanboy and chum chum is horrible.
Never watched Fan Boy and Chum Chum, I saw the commercials and that was enough for me to see it was stupid. Teen Titans Go, I've seen a lot of because my nephew loves it, unfortunately but he's 5, which is probably the target audience. It's immature and completely craps on the original series, which was amazing. It's not a good cartoon but I don't find it offensive, crude or disturbing.
#1? Too late. I saw that when I was 13... and that's been my fisrt Ren & Stimpy episode, randomly saw it one night, and traumatized for life. Of course now I can't like that cartoon or that style anymore. -BETMARK-
Yea, coming from a hardcore R&S fan, I can say that the original cartoon had charm and actual humor, but it still used restraint. APC was a disgrace to R&S, allowing a madman to desperately express his insanity in any overly forced way he could. I lost nearly all respect for John K. after this abomination.
+Jack and Marco Pft, the original Rin And Stimpy cartoons were still gross, I remember how 5 year old me was actually replused by the style. Little me stayed as far away from that show as possible. xD
+Cadence X, yes they had gross elements sometimes in the older cartoon, but they were used sparingly and (usually) hit at moments to provide both humor and unexpected surprises that didnt consume the full episode. Sure, later episodes lost comedic quality over time but still nowhere as horrible as what was in "Adult Party Cartoon". In that show EVERYTHING revolved around being as disgusting and shocking as legally possible without ANY of he humor and charm from the Nickelodeon series.
Jack Blacketer Yeah, little kids don't really really pick up on 'clever jokes & humor', so all that was left was the unpleasant style and gross parts. I only watched reruns of the show (Wasn't the show cancelled in 1998 or something?), so maybe I just caught the bad 'later episodes'. Although, Adult Party is still worse, I agree.
1:09 Paddy the Pelican. 2:41 The Nut Shack. 4:46 BreadWinners. 7:08 Mr Pickles. 8:22 Mega Babies. 9:35 The Brothers Grunt. 11:11 King Star King. 12:45 Drawn Together The Movie. 15:22 Brain a Bad Father & American Lung Family Guy & American Dad. 17:34 Red Seek Help.
+A Dalek One charge for murder and another for Attempted Murder... The duck just so happened to be a wealthy business man named Donald Trump... Okay, so he wasn't really a duck.
Ren Seeks Help, while being bad, is actually the least bad episode of R&S APC. The main thing it has over the other episodes is that it has a coherent plot line even if it’s bad. When you compare it to Onward and Upward, Fire Dogs 2, Naked Beach Frenzy, Altruists and Stimpy’s Pregnant, you can tell that it stands out from all of those bad and abysmal episodes. Ren Seeks Help is still bad, but I wouldn’t call it the worst cartoon of all time because that title goes to Stimpy’s Pregnant. Ren & Stimpy: Adult Party Cartoon is still the worst cartoon in my opinion, but it’s Stimpy’s Pregnant that’s the worst rather than Ren Seeks Help.
@powerstar 2028 but i think the reason i didnt feel anything watching it is bc ive seen it thanks to this video, otherwise if it were first time it wouldve scared the hell outta me.
Years later, rewatching this list, you provide excellent reasoning for why these cartoons or animations are the worst. Also at #1 seeing the end with the Looney Tunes like ending in Ren Seeks Help, after seeing all that horrifying crap, made me go wtf.
And this list is why I cannot stand adult cartoons all that much I’m sticking with avatar last air bender, invader Zim and anime like mushishi and howl’s moving castle to watch over adult cartoons
Trust me, there are some great adult cartoons out there, South Park (it has decreased in quality but not as much as something like Simpsons or Family Guy), Bojack Horsemen, and Rick and Morty are great examples of this.
@@pathetic_girl I feel like South Park would've always fallen on this list to a certain degree, Bojack horseman is more character driven and is given a realistic back drop with animal heads, so that one's fair, but Rick and North could go either way depending on the audience.
@@tahnis_walart I don't usually watch adult animation either, I think that it's hard to find an adult cartoon where the writers are at least somewhat competent in not stooping to the lowest of lows, in some twisted effort to separate them from children's shows.

Even watching the review #1 has disturbed my head. God what kind of a human enjoys this cartoon ? It's disturbing, without a sense, no real plug, it's just shows the intention of the writer of the show. What a sick freak. I'm sure people had to throw up after watching this. Your Top Ten is more than right. I'd rather die than watching these cartoons.
What. The. Actual. Fuck. Happened. At. The. Last. One. Luckily, I'm not completely traumatized by this. However, how the HELL was that even aired?! I don't care how old your audience or what rating you could put on that one episode or the ENTIRE series, it would make anyone want to gag. Does anyone else think that episode should have been somewhere on the Deep Web? That's how disturbed that atrocity is. I needed to take a breather and reevaluate what was happening. NEVER in my life have I seen a cartoon crossed SO FAR the borderline of cartoon comedy and plain sadistic animation. It's like the whole episode is jam packed with adult like topics and messed up subjects. I was more disturbed watching that than the Don't Hug Me I'm Scared videos on TH-cam. Even adult animated comedies had inappropriate and kid jokes in them. But, wow.
+Jasmine Wood Ren Seeks Help is NOT THAT BAD. IT'S NOT DISGUSTING!!! Ren Seeks Help is an absolute shit cartoon, yes, but my fucking God do people actually think it's that gross? IT'S NOT. It's simply such a stupid and boring episode that it's shit. "It's just a fact you'll feel sick after watching it." BULL SHIT. When I watched Ren Seeks Help as a seven year-old I literally just said "eww nasty" once and "gross" once and THAT WAS IT. People are such pussies.
And i wish they fixed the character's personalities, ESPECIALLY Princess Clara's. She was meant to be the naive Disney Princess stereotype, not the biggest meanie of the whole show
Let's be real here. If you enjoy Ren Seeks Help, you're probably capable of harming animals or even humans. Seriously, that's a horrible thing, won't even call it a cartoon.
Cassie Fargo I can understand how funny it can be seeing others in pain with gore, but that's just way too over the top. When a character is in pain and they're begging for mercy and it's supposed to be comedy, that's just awful.
What is it with adult cartoons and gore? Seriously, it might be funny if done extremely well, but if it isn't, it just ruins the show, especially in high doses.
I think developers think that just because their show is marked as an "adult cartoon" they think that means it's necessary to put every violent, bloody, sexual, gross thing they can think of in their show and that it makes it "entertaining" when really....... it's not.
As a kid, maybe about 8, I watched Breadwinners, but my mom made me stop watching it when she saw it. I read up about it a bit and I watched this and now I know why!
These are the following times to go if u don't want to watch the violence and u don't wanna skip it manually and continue to watch the video I couldn't let u miss number 1 cuz cuz there curious like me 8:20 12:43 Beyblade metal series is the best show Wished this was pinned
What about "Happy Tree Friends". I mean it was kind of edgy and original at first, but now it is just stale and a prime example of a one trick pony that over stayed its welcome.
It certainly started as _Flash_ shorts on TH-cam, but then it had a syndicated release with standard half an hour episodes (20' without commercials), divided in three segments. It is currently being shown in MTV and Comedy Central here in Latin America. I am not sure if it is currently being shown in the US, but I bet it is either currently running or had a run in Europe.
"Spoken by stoners with the intelligence of a cheese stick" Nah.... I think a stoner could write something more intelligent. I like to think Mr. Pickles was made by someone from a weird planet where that's their idea of an absolute gut buster.
I may be one of the few people that never liked anything related to Ren and Stimpy. People say it was revolutionary, but I just find it awful. I hated it in the past and I still hate it now.
Some people like that kind of thing, but there is a line and I feel like Ren and Stimpy crossed that line to many times, especially with how horrible and appalling "Ren Seeks Help" is. I never understood R&S's popularity, and to me, it's a bad example of how to make "Adult" animation. Showing gross imagery like SuperJail, King Star King, Mega Babies and R&S does not constitute adult cartoons, it's just juvenile. It makes shows like Venture Brothers, Robot Chicken, South Park, and Rick and Morty seem less worthy of praise and they bring down expectations of people. Thankfully that era has ended, at least I hope so.
***** I did mention hos R&S paved the way for shitty "adult" cartoons, but now that I think about it, R&S could've also paved the way for the good examples I mentioned before. Plus I have to give you props for the Asgore Icon. Giving the goat dad proper love!
I like watching your "10 worst" series because it makes me remember a part of my youth: the deep hatred for a tendency for meaningless and primitive edginess and ugliness which crawled through all kinds of media because it actually was successful. By remembering these abominations (and seeing todays abominations), I'm so much more glad that shows which actually are good reach to so many people. You need to know bad to appreciate good.
The episode "Ren seeks help" almost made me wanna cry, because I love Ren and Stimpy, like I don't wanna see the characters cry and be depressed, and family issues not to mention
I actually watched Ren Seeks Help on Vimeo. Whole episode. I didn't feel anything tbh. Just. Weird.. Like, "holy crap, this dude actually made this damn cartoon." Made the Randy Stair Westborogh high massacre animation video look like freaking SpongeBob. Didn't bother me or make me feel a type of way for some reason. Maybe I'm just desensitized. That's literally how I felt after watching it. Nothing in the world made sense to me. It left a funny feeling.

Celeste M Wait, so you’re also a mom who loved Ren And Stimpy who cried watching APC because of how mean-spirited the characters became?
All my faith in humanity died when I saw even a second of Ren needs help.
They should have the title changed to 'Writer needs help'.
Or Richard Pursel Needs Help. That guy who helped write A Pal for Gary and Pet Sitter Pat.
+Adam Jenkins To be fair, those two episodes are far, far tamer than Ren Seeks Help.
+Lord Capri-Chan I love Ren but ya that's one episode that I'll stay away from!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ren Seeks Help was written by Richard Pursel, the same guy who wrote A Pal For Gary.

Do not forget about Richard Pursel, who wrote this episode, along with some abysmal Spongebob episodes like Pet Sitter Pat.
I’m so glad Billy West chose not to come back for this filth of animation history and instead went on to do great cartoons like Space Jam and Futurama.
Nickelodeon sure likes to hire creators and producers who are MAPS.
He also made the SpongeBob episode "A Pal For Gary"
The existence of “Ren Seeks Help” makes much more sense when you realize just what a monster John Kricfalusi is.
How Bad Is He?

@powerstar 2028 Well, that's not entirely true. When we're adults, and we look back on shows we watched as children, we do find that a lot of it isn't as good as we remember, but we do also still enjoy a good chunk of it.
Bruh

The idea behind it was allegedly that John K. was convinced that he was not able to come up with something that hadn't already been done before--the only thing he COULD come up with that seemed unique or new was the idea of an insane cartoon character seeking therapy.

Being unable to feel remorse or empathy does not mean I am a horrible monster unable to do anything but harm others. I can use logic and reasoning to understand the consequences of my actions.
Similarly to how being autistic doesn't make one stupid, having ASPD doesn't make me a monster

Paddy the Pelican was one of the 1st TV cartoons. While most TV cartoons of the period used simple, UPA, influenced designs with animatic quality animations, Paddy’s producer tried to use a style closer to 40’s theatrical cartoons.
@Cerese I wasn't offended. The show was always trash
I think the creators of that show was high on acid and cocaine mixed together
powerstar 2028 I’ve basically seen you everywhere
The way you describe the Brothers Grunt perfectly describes the majority of Adult Swim. I needed to add that.

The main characters from Breadwinners don’t even look like ducks 🦆
I thought they were frogs at first
Ikr
I thought they were deformed blobs of slime😁😁😁😂
I thought they were aliens with cheetos in their mouths
So why main characters from breadwinners where nothing look like an actual ducks and these characters well there look like a frogs but I don't know
As much as i love dark humor, Ren and Stimpy: Adult Party Cartoon has NONE of that!
It looks like John Kramer's fever dream!
Yeth
i could've gone my whole life without remembering that mega babies existed
There is one positive, It makes a fabulous Birth control commercial
The Adult Party series is just John Kricfalusi goving free reign and execution to his ideas. No more pesky Nickelodeon execs telling him this is too far, or storyboarders and writers questioning his ideas. Nope, its a straight up dive into his head. Just watch his Simpsons intro and collaboration in a Treehouse of Horror episode. I hated both.
John K is IRL messed up in the head. He has managed to piss off a lot of key people in the industry by the way he acts out.
I liked John K's Simpsons intro.

I'd add 'Velma' as it's a show that makes a meanspirited 'adult' version of the show that insults you for watching it and likewise can't hide the utter contempt it has for its audience.
If this list was made this year, I bet PhantomStrider would include Velma on the list.
Perhaps it is an outlet of an episode for some people 🤔 hm..
@@phantomstrider nonetheless your video did shed light on how most people feel about the episode.
@@5H4NKTH35HARK ok bud, leave the domestic animals alone.
Good you haven't spoken to her in 3 years, she sounds like a total nutjob.
Drawn Together has always been about lampooning offensive cartoons that try to be relevant for being offensive.
I mean yeah, it’s bad, but it’s self aware about it and is still funny beside that. It does edgy humor the RIGHT way.
I agree also because I'm seeing examples of drawn together and it's bad and one thing bad is that the characters in drawn together kill cute animals
I knew the show was bad, but at least I got a few cheap laughs out of it. The movie was just terrible on all aspects, completely unwatchable.
I've lost loads of braincells while watching this...

Wha ar bran selz%
powerstar 2028 I liked South Park I could do contreversal jokes well like strider said and I quote “only South Park could get away with so many middle fingers to its audience” (I think that’s what he said) but it’s fine if you don’t like it I know a couple people who don’t like it
powerstar 2028 to me it’s come to the point we’re kids midea is the only good thing that exists with a few acceptions
That.... Thing is horrifying. I was honestly suffering watching through that last one. If I had to choose between watching that torture-filled, horrifying sack of vomit, or watching everything else on the list in a row, I would take the latter.

Me too
I felt weird seeing it.
You forgot fanboy and chum chum as well as teen titans go.
Teen Titans Go was #4 on Top 10 Worst Cartoon Network Shows.
+Alex Gluch (ShadowRanger) omg when i was 9-10 i loved fanboy and chum chum i had a plushie of fanboy etc. now im 14 and i fucking burned that stuff fanboy and chum chum is horrible.
I remember that show I watched it before I got my tonsils out.
+Alex Gluch (ShadowRanger)
To be fair, they aren't the WORST thing that ever happened to TV. They're mainly just childish.
-BETMARK-
It's not too late to like the original kid's cartoon. It is completely different from the APC atrocity.
+Jack and Marco
Pft, the original Rin And Stimpy cartoons were still gross, I remember how 5 year old me was actually replused by the style.
Jack Blacketer
Yeah, little kids don't really really pick up on 'clever jokes & humor', so all that was left was the unpleasant style and gross parts. I only watched reruns of the show (Wasn't the show cancelled in 1998 or something?), so maybe I just caught the bad 'later episodes'.
Although, Adult Party is still worse, I agree.

New kind of torture.

Years later, rewatching this list, you provide excellent reasoning for why these cartoons or animations are the worst.

And this list is why I cannot stand adult cartoons all that much
I’m sticking with avatar last air bender, invader Zim and anime like mushishi and howl’s moving castle to watch over adult cartoons

The only two people who would like ren seeks help:
Seth MacFarlane
and the creator of Drawn Together Movie
What. The. Actual. Fuck. Happened. At. The. Last. But, wow.
To be honest, Ren and Stimpy was better off being a kids show.
+Jasmine Wood It was all because of one episode that got him fired.

Ren Seeks Help is an absolute shit cartoon, yes, but my fucking God do people actually think it's that gross? IT'S NOT.
It's simply such a stupid and boring episode that it's shit.

+Jasmine Wood My stomach feels sick I wish I had never seen that god awful "cartoon".
True
Drawn together was a great show . Wished it came back for at least a few more seasons.
And i wish they fixed the character's personalities, ESPECIALLY Princess Clara's. She was meant to be the naive Disney Princess stereotype, not the biggest meanie of the whole show
Recently started watching drawn together.. is there any episode where Clara is tolerable ? So far there’s nothing redeeming her
Let's be real here. If you enjoy Ren Seeks Help, you're probably capable of harming animals or even humans. Seriously, that's a horrible thing, won't even call it a cartoon.
Cassie Fargo I can understand how funny it can be seeing others in pain with gore, but that's just way too over the top. When a character is in pain and they're begging for mercy and it's supposed to be comedy, that's just awful.
brady scott true, I'm even asking myself questions about the writer of the cartoon lol why would he or she even think about such.
"Torture Porn", I believe the term is.
Cassie Fargo Agreed. This thing should be banned and destroyed. How could anyone with feelings even remotely enjoy it?
Bit unfair. Isn't that like saying if your enjoy horror films you're capable of killing people?
What is it with adult cartoons and gore? Seriously, it might be funny if done extremely well, but if it isn't, it just ruins the show, especially in high doses.
+Devin Lucas Cuz they're sick and demented nutjobs who watched too many Saw movies and think they're funny as hell.
Really it does. I always cringe at the sight of blood in cartoons, because they never really portray the feeling of LOOSING A HAND.
I think developers think that just because their show is marked as an "adult cartoon" they think that means it's necessary to put every violent, bloody, sexual, gross thing they can think of in their show and that it makes it "entertaining" when really....... it's not.
+Devin Lucas The same can be said for horror movies with copious amounts of blood, gore and mutilation.
But in reality, they don't know how to tell a good story when it needs one.

Actually, they have a series on Netflix. Not sure if it's still there, but I saw it on Netflix, along with the Christmas special.
It certainly started as _Flash_ shorts on TH-cam, but then it had a syndicated release with standard half an hour episodes (20' without commercials), divided in three segments. Same here. I only watched 3 episodes that were on a VHS tape when I was little but even then I found Ren and Stimpy more nasty and annoying than funny
Honestly you have to be a little messed up to like that show man.
*****
I did mention hos R&S paved the way for shitty "adult" cartoons, but now that I think about it, R&S could've also paved the way for the good examples I mentioned before.
