If you don't need stealth, then you want the F-15ex. It can carry a HUGE amount of ordinance compared to the F-35 or any other multi-role aircraft in the world.
The EX is, if I remember correctly, low visibility (partially stealthy). Given the range we can fight at now, as well as counter-measures and the crazy advanced pods it can carry, that is probably more than enough even if you need stealth.

AN/APG-82 (V)1 AESA radar, integrated electronic warfare system (EPAWSS), multi-function large screen display, and mission computer MIDS-JTRS will be improved. In order to modify the existing F-15E to EX specifications, it is a major project that requires replacing the entire front fuselage canopy with a new one. The first project was carried out as a forward fuselage project, including radar, electronic system, mission computer, and communication module improvements, and airframe reinforcement and EX-level weapon payload were postponed to a later secondary project, allowing the project cost to be reduced to $3 billion. The inflation of fighter jet prices these days is beyond imagination. The cost of upgrading an old fighter is similar to the price of a new fighter.

For his claim that the eagles going to replace the F-22 I don't think so. Since eagle pilots say that they can't detect the F-22 until they're dead in war games so I would believe the F-22 still is the better fighter.
Too bad USAF already said that the EX is the replacement for the F22. The F22 is all integrated so the can't update system without rebuilding the whole plane and the production line for them is destroyed so no more can be made without that getting rebuilt. Avionics on the F22 is already out of date just to show you what I mean.
@@red8ball864 you know what's funny you didn't even know they already updated the F-22. A completed its updates in 2019. Received a whole bunch of new electronics. @georgeyarbrough88 The problem with the F-22 is not performance, but costs and logistics. Being the production line dismantled long time ago, finding spare parts for such a small fleet of aircrafts will become increasingly a problem. Also, the F-15EX, being derived from the most recent export versions of the Eagle, is inherently a more modern platform in terms of flexibility and potential for easy updates. It's not really replacing it. F-22 is not designed to do the same mission as F-15EX. In a one on one fight F-22 still beats the F-15EX in air superiority missions. The EX is a strike aircraft that can also effectively defend itself. Really, the more interesting use is that the F-15EX can act as a missile truck running a data-link with 5th gen aircraft acting as recon assets to launch air to air missiles that the 5th gens can guide to target while still out of targeting range of enemy systems.
@@colbunkmust Actually the F-22 is set for retirement in the course of the 2030's. Also, the EX, albeit derived from the F-15E version, is intended mainly as an air to air fighter to replace the aging F-15C, whose service life is now exceeded. Sure, with full multi role capability. In recent air shows, the EX already demonstred that the added thrust of the new engines, coupled with the new relaxed stability commanded by fly-by-wire controls give an even superior agility in respect to the legacy Eagles. I seriously doubt it could fly up to an altitude of 100000 ft. That was S.R. 71 Blackbird territory. The F-15 Eagle most likely has a maximum service ceiling of 60000 - 65000 feet.
The F-15 "Streak Eagle" was a specially prepared jet that attained an altitude of over 98,000 ft while under powered flight. It "coasted" to an altitude of almost 103,000 feet before descending. This happened back in 1975.

About 0:25, the F-15EX is notttt replacing the F-22. That will instead be the NGAD. I like this channel but the information here was not communicated well.
The F-15 is still more than a match for any 4.5-gen fighter. F-15EX doesn't need to get into heavily contested air space if enemy 5th-gens are around. The F-35 and F-22 will do that. The F-15EX is there to hold and shoot tons of missiles for them that they'll guide to the targets themselves. It's like if you were in a gunfight with another dude, but you have another gun that you can remotely control and shoot from extra-long range while you stay undetected.
This does not “succeed” the F-22, it’s merely a bridge to the next greatest thing, and it’ll also be a tremendous help to the F-35 fleet. With its monster radar, it’ll be able to fly hi-cap, and also pass off their radar info to the F-35’s, while they sneak in and do the dirty work.
it is supreme where the US controls the skies and with support from AEWACS, aground control and EW support from the USN Growlers much more than just a fighter and pilot. Few serious combat fights in a real war let alone against the chinese or russians.
One BIG error in this video . . . the F-15EX is powered by two F110-GE-129 turbofans rated at 29,000 lbs. Max A/B thrust. The F-15EX can also supercruise (without A/B) above Mach 1.1 without conformal fuel tanks. The F-15EX now has a very deep air-to-air load out, greater range, super maneuverability, and a real fighter engine (no fan or compressor stalls during rapid throttle movement). Fighter pilots can fly the aircraft and not the engine. Engine performance counts!!!
No supercruise. That implies a practical capability. The F-15 can only fly supersonic without afterburner (and barely above transonic speed) while completely clean i.e. no payload, no external fuel, no conformal fuel. Also no supermaneuverability, and engine issues were solved over 30 years ago.
I can't imagine that a 50 year old airplane will have a chance against 5th generation jets, let alone the 6th generation. No matter how many weapons it can carry. It won't even see these jets before it is shot down.
Yeah, the Soviets made the same claim about the Egyptian pilots before Operation Rimon 20. The Soviets still got pasted by F4s. Hilarious to think that the current Russian VVS could outmatch any decent air-force in air superiority mission considering their performance in Ukraine. They talked a big game about Patriot being destroyed as soon as it entered the country, yet those SAM batteries are still slinging missiles and dropping Russian jets and missiles out of the sky on the regular.
The Iraqi Air Force had been fighting Iran for 8 years shortly before the Gulf war, and at that point in time had more experienced pilots than the USAF, and far more experience than the Russians. They also had Soviet training, which is what let them down. Soviet training involves the pilots doing what their commander tells them to do, rather than thinking for themselves. This was proven when Germany reunified and Western pilots got to fly the MiG-29 in training exercises and compare themselves to Soviet trained pilots displaying Soviet tactics. The Western pilots scored more kills while flying the MiG-29 than the actual MiG-29 pilots did, per sortie, because the Western pilots were trained how to formulate tactics against a more capable foe, while Soviet pilots were trained how to understand orders and not much else. The same appears to still be true of Russian pilots as shown by the war in Ukraine.
Boeing can't fuck the US military so rest assured, otherwise they will lose the contract to make next generation fighter jets against Lockheed Martin or maybe Northrop Grumman
The F-14 Tomcat had a serious issue with going into a flat spin if one engine were to quit. This was because of the separation between the engines. 40 Tomcats were lost to flat spins for this reason.
the j16... uh... su27 will easily be defeated by the f15ex. thats not up for debate. if an su35 and f15ex make it to the merge, which is already unlikely, it would be interesting to see what the thrust vectoring is really worth compared to modern computer power running fly by wire systems.
not a fail. the rug was pulled under its feet by one Senator first and the majority of the Senate after, by deciding to close the production line. When they decided to reopen it they were said it would be cheaper to make a new plane, thus the NGAD. If politicians had an inch of perspective and oversight now the F-22 would be more in numbers, much cheaper, almost F-35 cheaper for sure, and the Armed Forces long waited and cancelled because there's no production line would be also flying the F/A-22, most likely turning US obsolete any F-15 when both compared. Remember those planes were not meant, as it's happening with the F-35, to fly alone but rather with a swarm of buddy drones also stealth, which means a lot more payload, no pilot life in risk, so no need for a payload train 4th gen, as the drones would do the job much better. Senate just cost the US some 20 or 30 years in research with their brilliant decision - like they intended to do with Hypersonic missiles, both gliding types of scramjets, but they decided to backtrack as Russia and China were filling arsenals which are said to be a crap... still for some reason even the other day the ARRW, condemned to death but not anymore, was once more tested near Guam... strange....

Air superioty will not win a war. You will eventually need boots on the ground. Just look at Vietnam, you have complete dominance in the air, even on the ground. But you still lose the war.
Yeah but Vietnam was a defensive war due to politics. The military weren't allowed to invade North Vietnam, only protect South Vietnam, which left the supply chains intact throughout the war. Iraq meanwhile was an invasion that succeeded entirely because of the initial air raids. Air power destroys the command and supply chains, which creates chaos among the Iraqi ranks, and it became a clean-up operation for the advancing ground forces.
Over hyping an old fighter...to what end ? Click bait ? An F-15 wouldn't last 5 min against an F-22 or F-35 and only seems impressive when resting on its laurels from 20 years ago. There's simply no reason to buy an F-15 today when an F-35C is cheaper and much more dangerous in contested airspace. You could make a case for the F-15 today as a missile truck for an F-35 or as a ground attack aircraft (which the F-15EX is) but only AFTER an F-35 clears the airspace for it.
There is a reason, and a particularly good one at that... logistics. The F-15 supply chain is well established while the F-35's supply chain still faces major issues. Additionally, it's size provides an airframe that can house more powerful avionics... particularly electronic warfare systems that can be operated by a 2nd crew member.

@@glamdring0007 The F-15EX has only recently entered production. LRIP is always going to be slow and more expensive than full rate production, but it's a necessary step to ensure a quality product. It has generally higher performance and retains more of it at high altitude compared to the F-35, which is perfect for a supporting fighter since it can hang back with a longer effective engagement range. It can carry large stand-off weapons that the F-35 cannot carry., and the WSO makes operating the plane under stressful conditions a lot easier. The AF didn't keep them. Saudi Arabia, Korea, and Japan kept buying them. Then basically Congress realized the AF F'ed up because they didn't have a replacement for the C model and the AF wanted to spend more money. Then Congress said no you can replace the C with already in production F-15SA, which are 97% the same as EX. The AF then whined and cried but ultimately had no choice but to take them if they didn't want C's breaking apart on any maneuvers greater than 6G's. Not one F15 has ever been shot down in combat…103:0 kill ratio. That’s all the proof I need.
The US F-15EX Super Eagle should be sent to Ukraine or Israel to proof their capability.
It's going to Israel. To Ukraine I really doubt it, even the F-16 that will be given are of European users that were to upgrade their Airforces. No "US" F-16, or US owned F-16, is yet promised to Ukraine. Even France is considering some Mirage 2000 as they're being replaced by last gen blocks of Dassault Rafale, likely the Panavia Tornado, and even a half a dozen Gripen C (Sweden only have a couple hundred, can't give more, and are upgrading the C/D versions to the E/F latest version - 4K F-16 were built compared with some 230 Gripens, a couple in Brazil - still waiting for more deliveries, a dozen land leased to Hungary, one or more two countries also in land lease... I guess there's no terms of comparison)
What you need to take away is that the Eagle II is re-engineered and built using modern knowledge and technology as if it were invented today.
Let me put it this way. One of the things the F-22 is most famous for is that in a mock dogfight, it managed to defeat an F-15. So, a _modern_ F-15...

In October 2023, Boeing surprised the Korean government by requesting $4.5 billion to upgrade 59 Korean F-15Ks to EX specifications.
Not really, see F35!

The F-22 architecture is "closed". You cannot update it without expensive interventions.

Ironic how F15 is replacing the F22, the very jet that was supposed to replace it
It's not really replacing it.
Well, that was not precisely an EX, but a QA version, that is the base for the EX.
@@andreabindolini7452 There is no set date for F-22 retirement, It's being replaced by NGAD. F-15EX can augment current roles of F-22 or F-35 depending on the mission.

Advanced MINIMUM Range Air to Air Missiles? Aim-9LM? This is littered with mistakes.
It's absolutely useless in heavily contested air space. Amazing piece of engineering though!

With its monster radar, it’ll be able to fly hi-cap, and also pass off their radar info to the F-35’s, while they sneak in and do the dirty work.

f15ex will let an f22 shoot without turning on their radar or be a weapons mule to deliver weapons on target for previously located enemies
Yeah but this thing could end up costing more than the F-35.
Interesting: source for the supercruise claims?
No supercruise. That implies a practical capability. The F-15 can only fly supersonic without afterburner (and barely above transonic speed) while completely clean i.e. no payload, no external fuel, no conformal fuel.
Also no supermaneuverability, and engine issues were solved over 30 years ago.
I can't imagine that a 50 year old airplane will have a chance against 5th generation jets, let alone the 6th generation. No matter how many weapons it can carry. It won't even see these jets before it is shot down.

Russian pilots or Iraqi pilots… It Would still make no difference.
The same appears to still be true of Russian pilots as shown by the war in Ukraine.
you know they have 2 seater trainer models? 2 people... 2 man concept engage...

So I guess the f22 can be classed as the shortest deployed, most expensive aircraft ever built..... epic fail.
not a fail. the rug was pulled under its feet by one Senator first and the majority of the Senate after, by deciding to close the production line. Senate just cost the US some 20 or 30 years in research with their brilliant decision - like they intended to do with Hypersonic missiles, both gliding types of scramjets, but they decided to backtrack as Russia and China were filling arsenals which are said to be a crap... still for some reason even the other day the ARRW, condemned to death but not anymore, was once more tested near Guam... strange....

@@gunsnrosesforever100 I prefer Americans, or US citizens, to say it loud rather than the Chinese. What would you prefer? And by no means the F35 program, for what they got, is really cheaper than the raptor programme. Cheers
@Maddog-xc2zv still the f22 might be the shortest lived service aircraft in US history ;)
@@gunsnrosesforever100 I don't know, I guess it will surpass the F-14 Tomcat for sure. The F-111 also. A considerable number of others, in fact - but I did not do a "serious" research to point out which are the most likely. Cheers.
😂😂😂😂. So you don't know the SU 35.
It’s going to replace the F22
The fighter that replaced it
How ironic 🤣🔝👹🦅🇺🇸🔥 RAAAAAAAHHHH
Not true. It will complement both the F-22 and F-35, the latter mainly because it's a train of payload but can't get where a F-35 can. The replacement of the F-22 is the NGAD (the Navy will also have the F/A XX, both expected to fly with swarm buddy drones also stealth and payload to complement the lack of it on the stealth fighters and so making in the future the EXII obsolete: why do you think so few will be bought and are mainly aimed to export including countries where US is not allowed to export F-35s - as the F-22 never left US ownership till the present day - like Turkye for instance; so... can't really understand your point...)
But the F15EX Eagle 2 ha. s F110 GE 129 of 34.500 lb engines not PW engine that's a fact it's must faster with the GE engines that a fact
F-15EX : 20 delivered
J-16: 300+ delivered
American boast
China get things done
Chinese jets usually has better radar and sensors than US jets anyways.
That’s a lie America has better radar and more weapons in the Jets holding missiles and bombs there’s more F-15S in the world then J-16 China tries to steal info from America to copy American Jets
America doesn’t want or think Chinese Jets are close or better to its own look at the F-16S F-35S delivered too as F-15EXS has just been created recently numbers mean nothing vs better Jets and America definitely has more Jets all better
Lastly F-15EXS was finished 2 months Ago and was in testing/experimental phase for years while J-16 was done years ago stop being bad faith and making comparisons that don’t makes any sense/logic as the USA has gotten its second pair 1 month ago
@@Channel-23s Delusional, most of Chinese jets and ship have AESA radar while most us ones still use PESA. You are living in the 90s. J-16 has booth better radar and avionics than F-15EX
F-15EX replacing F-22😄. I don't think so
oh, they did. F-22 is way too expensive to make so they opt to upgrade F15E Strike Eagle instead
Should have made a carrier version
End game, Mach 3.72 /// watch.
never underestimate copied Tofu fighters . . . he he he he he he !

Its like playing cards you dont tell the person the cards your holding because if you youd never win you also need to bluff sometimes to win.
I think if i was Running the show id keep my enemies out of the loop just saying you dont tell the enemies where you'll hit them on the battle field i guess pride and bragging rights are the thing thats my guess .
It's nothing Su-35S, Su-30SM2 or MiG-31BM couldn't handle. Just another overhyped American Gen-4
😂😂😂😂 here we go with this dumb shit. Of the countries that run those platforms, which pilots are skilled or even alive enough for that challenge
Russian fighters are garbage. None them have the Kill ratio of the F-15. Ukraine Air Force is still intact.
Bro, those jets cant even secure air superiority over ukraine and they barely have an air force.
@@Typexviiib Ukraine doesn't even have an Airforce anymore lol. Russian shot all of their planes down and now they are begging for F-16s... Russia has plenty of planes to fight with but not Ukraine. Too many people Ignore that fact because they hate on Russia. When it comes to ground pounding sure they are losing planes to sams/man pads but that comes with any war.
@@ropenka30 what are you talking about? Ukraine does air missions daily. Cope harder vatnik
@@dumdumbinks274 There were 97 F-35s produced in 2023. There were less than a half dozen F-15EX produced...and each F-15EX costs more than the F-35A variant which seriously compromises any argument in the F-15s favor. The F-35 has capabilities F-15EX can only dream of. Yeah it carries less missiles but if you're dead in a BVR fight before those extra missiles can be used what was the point ?
@@glamdring0007 The F-15EX has only recently entered production. LRIP is always going to be slow and more expensive than full rate production, but it's a necessary step to ensure a quality product.
And as I already mentioned, the F-15 has the advantage in electronic warfare, due to both EPAWSS and it's superior radar. The F-15 platform is also more reliable and costs less to operate.
shhhhhhh
